You guys are all idiots this machine runs great for me. I get 90 frame rate in COD 4 thru 6. Love the thing and I have been building pc’s for years.

I just got my M17 today and I was pretty UPSET about the whole Laptop. I upgraded it and spent over $3800 on the unit and it ran Call of Duty 5 like crap. I had to turn Anti Aliason off, textures to medium and lower the resolution. It still feels like I'm getting about 14fps. Also the keyboard lights don't work. I'm sending it back tomorrow and getting a refund.

I would look into it… i needed a laptop for an overseas deployment(can’t really bring a desktop to Iraq), but i got the Acer Aspire 8920… which plays crysis and bioshock and dead space and COD5 and fallout 3… So i’ll pass on this for now.

I think this is in the portable pc class – handy if you move about lots like travelling back and forth between countries. I’ve used the inspiron 9400 for a couple of years now exactly for this purpose and there hasn’t been anything it could’t handle, but could do with a graphics upgrade. Hence this alienware laptop is the dog’s bollox and the price for the top end model hasn’t budged from what I paid for the top end 9400 in Jan 87, and you get the HDMI which is handy for hooking movies and games up to the 42″ LCD. Battery life is a misnomer IMHO for this type of laptop. And if you still prefer to travel but can’t get over your love affair with the tower, then you’re gonna look a bit like a primitive lumberjack walking through immigration.

Guys, before considering buying check “alienware support” on google. Their support is the worst ive seen in years, if you run into problems you are basically on your own.
