Alanis Morrisette – Flavors of Entanglement (2008)

Brand new today, is the repack of Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morisette’s newest album, Flavors of Entanglement. Apparently, there was an issue with Track 7 on the previous release. This should be a big album for Alanis, her first all-new album since 2004’s So Called Chaos. So, for those of you who dig the chicks that rock, this one’s for you!

Alanis Nadine Morissette (born June 1, 1974) is a Canadian-born singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress of dual Canadian and American citizenship. She has won twelve Juno Awards and seven Grammy Awards, and has sold more than 55 million albums worldwide. Morissette began her career in Canada, and as a teenager recorded two dance-pop albums, Alanis and Now Is the Time, under MCA Records. Her international debut album was the rock-influenced Jagged Little Pill, which is the best-selling debut album by a female artist in the U.S., and the highest selling debut album worldwide in music history. According to RIAA and United World Charts, Alanis is defined as the biggest selling female rock artist in music. Morissette took up producing duties for her subsequent albums, which include Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, Under Rug Swept, So-Called Chaos and her upcoming release Flavors of Entanglement. Alanis became an American citizen in 2005.

Flavors of Entanglement is the seventh studio album and fifth international release by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette. The album, which was originally set for an April release, will be released May 30 in Germany, Benelux and Brazil, internationally on June 2 and in the United States on June 10 (per an announcement from Morissette’s official Web site). It was produced by Guy Sigsworth.

    Alanis Morrisette was everything that was wrong when I was growing up. That stupid tee angst started to come out, I think she;s the ‘mother of emos’ tbh. I remember when they played “one hand in my pocket’ at my school formal, I seriously wanted to cut my wrists.

    @6 damn, son!

    the new album is different from the other ones, less instruments, more digital, it’s the “pop-est” album and has a great electro influence. some songs remind me of Imogen Heap and Bjork. it’s kinda weird, if you are used to the old stuff, but her voice and melodic style make it all worth while.

    Thank God some diversity in musical styles at rlslog.
    This in no way represents my musical tastes, but I was getting fed up with the partisan choices of music.

    I believe there is a webrip of the new disturbed album out. the only issue is that it has female voice overs on it which are very annoying…will have to wait for a better release

    She was the angriest be’atch in the music world. Has she gotten over it? Is this any good or is it just more of her angry put to an annoying soundtrack?

    No, this is goddamn good! Not really much of a fan. Always thought she was some kind of man hating/lesbian/crusty hippy. But this truely is excellent. Check out “giggling again…” – excellent. :)

    Looking forward to the new N.E.R.D., Futureheads, Melvins and Wolf Parade records. Hopefully they will be posted here to add some flavour (Uh-Huh!) to this site. The Futureheads’ “This Is Not The World” has been making the rounds for a while now (hint).

    She’s a muff-sucker.

    Now, by postin this you are endorsing her muff-suckin, un-natural way of life. Is that what you want to do?

    This woman is completely talentless, so why post?

    She only loves suckin on juicy muffs with pissy pubic hairs, shes not a musician of any kind.

    She’s the biggest hasbeen ever.

    Just because she had a one hit song in the 90s – it doesnt mean that she is an artists that everybody has to know and yadda yadda.

    This is bullcrap, completely talentless stuff.

    Creating her “music” requires no brain activity at all – only muff-suckin.

    Goddamn muff-diver makes me sick. I hope she gets aids and dies so we don’t have to be tormented by her bullcrap music that is, unfortunately, posted here for some reason i can’t understand.

    the album is good if u are alanis fan.
    she is a mainstream musician and she has strarted where she left in last album. more emphasis on lyrics than on music.

    but as people have said above this album is for those who are mainstream music fans and those who can dare to acknowledge that there is more in music than heavy metal(itself derived from Blues).

    Who gives a crap if she’s a bean flicker :-) , stick to commenting on the music you losers.

    To say that she is a talentless no-one, you obviously have no clue about music you idiots, she is a very talented artist………as for the songs on this album i think they are very very good, especially #7 Moratorium.

    @30, one hit song?
    Her album ‘jagged little pill’ shifted 30 million copies,
    she has won 7 grammy awards and countless others!

    so to say that she had one hit song is a bit stupid to be honest

    Anyway, I really like this album, Guy Sigworth’s production has helped Alanis greatly, the sound on this album is like no other from her, such a diverse mixture

    Well worth the download =]

    Flavors of Entanglement is an amazing album. Those of you who criticize Alanis Morissette probably listen to the Lollipop song by Lil’ sumthing, whatever his name is. This is the closes she’s ever gotten to the drummy loops and electronic and world beats of Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie in my opinion. SFIJ was largely ignored and it’s an amazing record. FOE is amazing as well! I wish her much success.
