Nero is not bloat unless you tick everything and even then, with todays pc’s all is good.
I use dvdfab platinum for dvd DL backups and HD Blueray backups. Nero is just for copy and burn….everything else is better done with low footprint seperate apps.

Oh, and I am sticking with 8.0.3.0 for now….until there are major security fixes (none I know of) or theres major upgrade, right now there is none and all works, I have the retail iso on 45 computors in the area.

For 99% of you nero hat’n fools….you do not have to install anything but nero burning rom or nero express….the basics, after that install what you like.

The retail version is what ya want,not freeware trial from site,then the keygen, then the patentactivationkiller.exe thats everyFREAKNwhere.

Bunch of crybabies…..unless you are on dial up then I will cry for you too.

The patent activation crack does NOT work, but i have tried escjr’s idea. Hopefully it works. Will keep you posted.

I got oh so excited reading your post about how to get around this – you would NOT believe how many times I have downloaded/installed/uninstalled/run nero cleaner/entered serials to get this rotten piece of bloatware to work (but I do love the way it burns DVDs)! I am sorry to say though – still the same prob – and YES I did it EXACTLY how you said. One question though, when you say CANCEL the activation, there is no Cancel, just the option to activate by internet or fax with a NEXT button which is where i suspect it’s all going wrong. Press fax and cancel and doesn’t work. Press next on the internet activation and its the ol’ pirated serial message. I am SURE this activation message was different in the past (had DOWNLOAD and CANCEL buttons) – any possibility Nero still updates the activation program even when told not too??

Worked for approx. 2 weeks and now it’s detected a pirated serial number again! Damn it all!!!!!!!!

Is this still in limbo? I am still also getting the 3rd party activation message. I believe I have tried all these possibilities and vision is still the trigger for the message. Renaming, deleting, fresh install, multiple serials, etc. none have worked. where is the crack, pls embrace. we all know you can do it(or some of us hope)

Exactly *wagnerite* that is why I have created an install folder direct from the iso. No extra “ask toolbar” and “weather channel” add-ons in my folders. Straight and clean Nero 8 Ultra Edition. Can be installed direct from desktop no need to burn or mount. All applications function permanently. Instructions are included. If your still using Nero 7, this is as safe as an upgrade can get. You will not be let down.

Nice program *mc* that was a first for me.
