Ahead NeroLinux v3.5.1.0 Linux Incl. Keymaker-EMBRACE
EMBRACE group released newest build of well known burning software Nero - Linux edition. It have same features as Win version, only this one isn’t that much (over)bloated. Hmm, when i posted Mac apps some of you called me “Mac fanboi”, i guess now it’s something like “Linux fanboi”?
P.S. I’ve provided 64bit version too, for those ones who have 64bit OS. And read NFO, for instructions how to use keygen properly.

Is this any better than K3B?

Nik3’s Post - RecordMax burning studio was equally great.

@ 3
No K3B does everything..this is no better
The synonym for “Linux fanboi” is “Common sense” !
perfect i just reinstalled and lost the old file =P
@6 yeah k3b works but nero does audio cds better atleast in my experince
@6 Your right, but sometimes if you are NOT using kde and you prefer using gtk2 based apps on your gnome or xfce based distro and you like to bloat your system with kde lib for a program only nero linux is a good choice!
But when using kde I prefer k3b too.
@9
Good points
Good app, usable because supports multiple versions of Linux and it’s only 15,3 MB. Burn disc burn!!!
Simply the worst burning software available for *nix systems.
@13 Yeah *nix l33t use the console for burning cd but when you administer the linux system of your own mother you are greatful for the gui solution.
this is definitely software i would support and buy. when big companies like nero make their apps for linux instead of pretending it does not exist gives me a smile.
I was unaware that Nero made this compatible with Linx, thanks for brining it to my attention. I actually went ahead an bought the program.
Wonderful to see support for Linx.
@16
I hope you can see the irony of your comment
@14
try this

Downloading this was one of the dirtiest things I ever did. It just felt so sick and wrong. There is at lest 4 great open source buring programs. I mean I guess none of them support blu-ray burning, but like I have one of those.
Nero > k3b. period. k3b is nice, but nero is better by far.
Not only Nero-linux is the best under Linux, but also I have not found anyhting close to replace it under Windows!
If I want to burn an iso, well I can do it with tons of other applications including cdrecord both under windows and linux but if I want to make a DATA cd/dvd there is no way that I use anything else. It just has the most user friendly GUI, that is the main advantage of nero (for me) and nothing else has ever come close to it!
Beside all this, who has said that Linux == Free ? there are many great commercial applications for Linux and that is actually a good thing for it. I just wonder if people have really grasped what an OS is or that they just follow some _lame_ (excuse my French) cliches?
Thanks for the post, highly appreciated!
Now that’s a true Cristian App post - all class & no confusion…
ThanX m8 4 this update!
I had a problem talking to the guru’s backend. It was full of varnish. Anyone else see that??
Linoox, I think if you buy a windows licence you can use it with linux for free? pretty ncie of them. Its was like this in the beta nero linux day. Dont know if its the same right now.
I wish someone would do this for the MAC. I’m not to keen on Toast.
sarah who lol go to eztv.it
ufc 84??? biggest release today where is it
XWT already have the main event and tito vs machida posted
theres an 8gb non scene of the full show but we want some RS links and a proper…come on Rlslog!!!!
@Mr.X , m8 it’s all about the money, you know that!
nero is one of the worst burning softwares wether you use it under windows or *nix.
nero was never very good, but it just gets worse as each year passes.
Cheers mate, as a fellow Linux “fanboy” I’ve been looking for this… dual booting with XP atm to be able to burn discs etc
i dont understand what “ahead software” gives us nero 3 for linux, when at least a version 6 would be far more practical with all the very handy video recode options etc like windows has. this would be much better.
perhaps they are just “trying the waters” so to speak
@25
I’d have problems too if my backend was full of varnish.
big thanks on a linux release,
hope there are more to come.
good to see Linux represented too, but for a CD/DVD burning program? There’s enough (free + open source) alternatives available such as K3b (http://www.k3b.org/)
@Mr X (post 33)
I think they started their numbering over for Linux…
@ninjass, It was the case when they released it but haven’t checked lately, it might still be so as part of their marketing strategy.
@MelC: You must be kidding, right? I am just curious as what you are looking in a burning software that Nero does not offer? It has become too big (under Windows of course), true but the burning part is still apart so you could decide to install that, as many do and besides, if you don’t burn any blue-ray, you do not need to upgrade, upgrading is kind of optional, you know!
@w00t: I am all for OSS but when Linux is becoming a serious contender for Mac or Windows, and commercial softwares are being developed for, it is better to welcome it! This a positive trend. Imagine that Mathowrks and even Microsoft, do not release their products (Matlab or Office) for Mac or at least not with the same features or at the same rate and if one wants to work with Matlab, latest version, has always to stay in Windows! Now if MAthworks is releasing it for Linux, you see that how big it is for Linux users.
My suggestion is that people have to look at this as a success for Linux and hope that there are more of those (of course, we want big companies to release softwares for Linux as the opensource (and free) ones are already strongly present there.
Too much said, sorry folks it is just that when you look a the bigger picture, you see things differently.
Cheers!
uploaded to rapidshare so i could get em at a friends house and figured might as well share.

owners of BD/HDDVD writer can ignore my prev comment…
@39/40: WTF? Did you not realize this thread is not about the windows version, much less an outdated one?
If you want a good AND lightweight windows version, you get te latest nero micro, but then again, this post is about the linux version.
Could someone please show me how to install this app on Ubuntu 8.04
Thanks
@38
open the terminal, and type “dpkg -i nerolinux-3.5.1.0-x86.deb” will do
and run the keygen in console to get the serial…
btw, you can just d/l the trialware from nero web site and reg the software using embrace keygen:
