The version EMBRACE given is just a tar file, and it can’t be started due to unable to find some library (libgtk…) in my ubuntu 7.10 x64, is it a bad rip?

Actually, if ya have it on windows, you can dl the rial and use the key from your windows version

Nothing works right away? Most stuff does, whereas with windows, you need to locate and download drivers for pretty much every device.

“you have to open a terminal and type stuff just to install simple apps”. Yes, not like you can just click on applications, then “add/remove”, that would be too easy. Or any of the dozen or so front ends that let you search for an install any app in 2 clicks, like synaptic, adept, yum, yast, etc. Whereas with windows, you have to look for the app/iso on shady sites (risk it being infected, no signatures or anything), then serials/crk/kgn for it, then block it with a firewall, add entries to hosts file, disable the startup entries/services/systrays and all that they add. Hours of fun.

“you have to manually configure 50% of your hardware”. I dunno, but I never had to do that. Your linux sucks troll is way outdated. Try to find some updated FUD. It clearly shows you never even tried it…

Linux is WAY better than Vista will ever be!

Yes, why use the existing free apps that work fine, when we can have nero junk?

Because it sucks not having to find truly working serials for it every time there’s an update?
Because it sucks not having the nero scout crap?
Because we’re missing out on NMIndexingService.exe & NMIndexStoreSvr.exe bloat and the like?

I agree with you grimpr (#41) in that there’s no need to hack windows based products when we have our own – I’m just happily burning a dvd with k3b whilst writing this message – if I were in windows I would be out in the kitchen making a cup of tea whilst burning a dvd via Nero and hoping it worked. Nero seems to take up all of my cpu and if I try to do anything else it screws up and costs me a blank dvd, a reboot and a lot of wasted time. K3b seems immensely user friendly and in my experience more than adequate.

Pirating NeroLinux seems absolutely pointless considering the good amount of opensource apps written for this job in Linux space, Windows shareware developers need encouragement from the opensource crowd to start developing on Linux, this is very important and strategic for a succesfull emergence of Linux on global desktops.

Nero is the only way to use UDF and thats very important.

4GB and more per file
Unicode
No limitations in Filenamelength oder Folderdepth
Multiplatform…

Good to see Linux represented as well, here at Rlslog
The Rlslog motto should be something like ‘Hot info about new scene releases! We don’t discriminate’
And as for poster nr.1: Anything that used to work in 5.10 should work fine in any newer version, including the latest 7.10 (a.k.a. Gutsy).
