   Version 8 sucks! Unless they changed something since the first cracked release. The smartstart doesn’t have the same stuff that version 7 had. I couldn’t even burn movies etc. I love version 7. Its not bloated and worked fairly fast. I will stick with it unless there is some reason to upgrade to this bloated version> This looks like Vista to me

    Thats good to know… I love nero 7 and i just figured out the A/V Sync bugs, and now its great. I don’t need any resource hog of a program. But Ill DL and seed anyway…….

    i did like some things and others not. like the “Buttons” i cld not figure out the jpeg for a button. Only a text. Looked good for a multi disc like a season as you cld just click on the text. but for a single disc i like to use nero 7’s button options and import a jpeg. oh yes, as we now know nero will now always be a monster dont see it getting smaller in size.

    Actually both versions work perfectly, i have Vista Home Premium 32bit and i have tested both. I would still be on Nero 8 only the first (the 1Gb version) wasnt cracked right and that product registration thing messed it all up. Im now using Nero 7 but i really liked Nero 8 so hopefully this one dosent mess up on us.

    PS: I think i might have turned off my firewall and it got ET syndrome…. It phoned home! lol

    This version will also expire after 30 days and you get invalid patent popup and cant use nero vision or showtime.

    When will they learn how to properly CRACK an nero8? puta.

    A fix for Nero Problems
    Foiled the PatentActivation by backing it up on my external hard drive, added a .bak extension on the original and created a new directory that has Nero thinking it has the Patent Activation for serial numbers but it doesn’t with these steps.

    Disconnect from the internet
    Install Nero
    register with your Licensed key
    restart (if needed)

    Press Start-Run.. type in the following txt
    “%PROGRAMFILES%\Common Files\Nero\Shared\NL3″ (with Inverted commas)

    The Folder “NL3″ will be opened, Find there file Called
    “NeroPatentActivation.exe”
    rename it to “NeroPatentActivation.exe.bak” (or you can simply delete it..
    DONT FORGET TO BACK IT UP 1st)
    Now Create new Folder and name it “NeroPatentActivation.exe” (without
    quotation marks)

    @12 – for 8.1.1.3, i deleted, PROGRAMFILES\Common\Nero\Shared\NL3\NeroPatentActivation.exe

    then deleted the entire contents of the OnlineServices folder in the main Nero8 directory.

    I recommend everyone try CDburnerXP (google ) it’s a lot faster, uses less resources and is free (not that it matters xD)

    for those with the patent activation problem…

    quite easy, close the software, then do a search for patentactivation its an exe file and it has a green icon. rename this file to whatever you want but dont delete it (for some reason this causes a problem) once renamed restart the app… voila, no activation issues.

    now.. my question is why in the hell do they keep releasing minor updates, and more importantly WHY does someone keep posting torrents for those updates here… seems like a waste of DBspace to me…

    Did everthing suggested and it worked for about three weeks. Nero vision was the only problem anyway.

    But now;

    Add video files: Patent popup – Click Cancel – Ok
    Design Menu – Ok
    Burn – Error! Will not burn! Different patent popup which just says patent error and doesn’t even offer the chance to buy a patent

    This is after getting rid of the patent.exe etc

    I’m using vista so dont know if this is the problem.
    Done a full re-install and still the same problem.
    Im now using WinAvi but I can’t make menus with that

    thanks, for all the links, all i really needed was the keygen, i used the link from nero’s site to d/l the prog. …it was a lot faster than rapidcrap!….thanks….

    hope this fixes the sync problem with vision and recode (only when trimming a avi)

    Ha, I’m a noob and I installed this thing wrong. I tried to use vision and when i went to add a movie file it shut down, told me i had a pirated activation key, offered me a discount, and erased everything on my desktop that wasn’t in a folder. ARSEGONS!

    NeroPatentActivation is the name of the exe file. I renamed to NeroPatentActivation.exe Now there is no notification. I let you know if I can how she stands up to time. Hey also befor I installed the Nero 8.1.1.0 Ultra Edition + Keygen [h33t] [CaZoR] I Had went and downloaded Nero-8.2.8.0_eng_trial Installed Embrace then the update of sorts on top of that one. thanks for the info. Happy New Year

    Firstly, I find this release only a much more bloated version of the cool v7. Secondly, it takes a whole damned 15 min or so just to install! Lastly and most importantly, even after not installing showtime and imagedrive the installation messes up the codecs used by Windows Media Player and then u aren’t even able to playback a stupid dvd! or even an avi file!? I mean WTF!!?? I had to install xp codec pack after installing this version all over again! So guys just steer clear of this stupid version which takes ages in almost everything!

    Hey i have the patent pop up problem for Nero 8… Ive tried deleting the file, renaming it, and some other way but it does not seam to help. Im using a newer version of Vista I think that might be the problem but Im not sure… can anyone help me?????
