To ppl who wonder why serials work only temporarily:
Turn off automatic updates for the app (manual app), Don’t let it send info to their website (for helping the developers improve the app). Letting the app phone home would let them know that you are using cracked serial

I recommend filesclab or kerio and just import rules or edit the rules depending on your environment. It’s both free (at least the old version of kerio before sunbelt purchased it)

Linux/Unix is not really for desktop computing or gaming although there are distributions pushing for it like solaris,fedora,ubuntu etc etc. Granted those distributions are good but still windows is what I prefer. Maybe because I use it most of the time and I just telnet to a unix server whenever I need work done. It’s not the games either because my office computer specs is not for gaming and so is my outdated home pc. I guess it’s just hard to change preferences even though I have used linux/unix desktop distrib from time to time. Windows kinda grows on you if you know enough 3rd party apps or windows scripting to make up for its flaws

As a former Comodo user, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Comodo. You will get the Random Blue Screens and Freezes.

And see what happens when you try uninstalling it later. In XP toolbar, XP’s tooltips keep reminding that Comodo is STILL your firewall, even after installing another one. Then, when you try searching Comodo Forums for help, it’s the run-around, and a mysterious, hidden link to a ZIP file (why they don’t make it public, I don’t know…) to uninstall the remaining remnants of Comodo (Spyware).

BTW, did you know Comodo’s company is part of a group [Trusted Computing Group (TCG)], which includes Microsoft as a partner. Free my bunghole.

haha at jack white #21. i also still use the defunct sygate personal firewall until now and am still happily and satisfactorily protected. it’s got that incidental embargo on going bloatware hahaha. of course, i also use avg free for resident scanning and clamwin for non-passive/manually activated backup.

nothing beats knowledge, wisdom, grc.com and defensive computing techniques to keep malwares and other intrusions at bay. however, i’ve been tracking outpost for a long time and i admire it too – it’s landed on top 1 on more review sites i’ve seen before – that should account for something. so, i’m keeping a copy of it just in case the time comes my spf fails to satisfy me anymore. and comodo looks good as well.

Comodo firewall is the worst firewall you can get. It is annoying as hell and will give you BSODs at random. The only thing it has going is that it is free. But honestly i would rather have a mild virus on my box than that firewall…

i use outpost too, and i like it.
had zonealarm before. in zonealarm it is easier to block certain programs from calling home. this is a very important feature.

I use Outpost Firewall Pro 2008 + NOD32 2.70 until Eset will release the final build of security suite that will have both firewall & antivirus.
I used Comodo Firewall before that and had to many problems with it, then change to Outpost and never look back.

lol. going to Linux wont fix all your problems.
Actually you gonna screw yourself over if you keep recommending ppl to go to Linux.

anything man made has flaws in it, there just isn’t enough of the population for hackers to change to hacking another operating system.

If 80% of the world changed to Linux…. because of your promotions… then i’m sure we will start seeing Linux Viruses, and Linux Back-door hacks and stuff…

So by making more ppl use it, you gonna screw yourself over. haha.

Also Linux IS NOT VIRUS FREE, currently it maybe, or it maybe not, as above… anything that is made by man can be broken by man.

There is a reason why OSX/Apple stopped marketing Virus Free. Since a few years back, somebody REALLY did come up with a virus for osx…..
