Agnitum Outpost Security Suite PRO 2008-YAG

If you don’t want to bother with several security products to protect your PC (firewall, antivirus, antispyware and so on) try this all-in-one suite.

The two-way firewall stops inappropriate or malicious access to your computer from both internal (LAN) and external (Internet) sources. As a frontline defense, it prevents malware from spreading or “phoning home”, providing protection against hackers, loss of personal data, unknown malware, and unauthorized program activity.

Outpost’s Host Protection module monitors how programs interact to protect your system against high-level security breaches and has passed all well-known leaktests to prevent unauthorized transmission of information from your PC.

The lightweight, highly-effective scanning engine combines award-winning anti-virus and anti-spyware to detect, disinfect or remove malicious programs automatically. The on-access monitor is constantly on guard against malware attempting to enter or activate on your PC, and flexible architecture ensures high-speed, low-resource scanning.

The antispam module will keep your inbox free of junk. You can train it to recognize and use your personal definition of spam, so it becomes more efficient and an even greater time saver the longer you use it.

The versatile Web Control module safeguards you against the Internet’s darker side. It steers you away from websites infected with drive-by downloads, prevents the inadvertent disclosure of personal information, limits your exposure to potentially unsafe web properties, and keeps your identity private.

Outpost cannot be deactivated by targeted attacks, ensuring continuity of protection.
Whether you’re a security novice or expert, you can easily configure Outpost Security Suite 2008 to meet your needs. Thanks to automated and context-sensitive help, the software can learn how to handle firewall alerts and more efficiently adjust to them, so you can focus on what you want to do, and leave the security to Outpost!

    October 25th, 2007 | 19:41

    Is it better than zonealarm?

  4. October 25th, 2007 | 19:47

i used this for a while but then just downgraded to Comodo. a good firewall at your router is still the best protection…

is it cracked or is it a trial for a few months?

If you downgraded to Comodo then this must be a really good firewall. I think Comodo is one of the best firewalls to date and free which is always a bonus. lol So has anyone tried this yet? does the updates and stuff work without messing this program up?

    Three eyed boy,
I’d honestly say EVERY firewall is better than Zone Alarm.
Well, except for Norton maybe, but any other app is a lot better than Zone Alarm.

I’d suggest using Comodo. It’s free and IMO one of the best desktop firewalls out there.

    @Sordid: Norton?! hell no…

can someone tell me if i can only install the firewall from this suite, or do i have to download a separate file? because i use nod32 and i don’t have any intentions to change it

I used the older firewall version for a while and it’s very good.

Just got the 2008 version (paid) that works on Vista and it very buggy n slow.

Like said before, a good router fw will do ya just fine. If your just a casual PC user then any would work. I’d reccomend outpost, but i’m jaded. It also doesn’t eat up as much proc/mem and doesn’t have issues with other programs.

  17. October 25th, 2007 | 21:46

SMek: we’re playing with something, hold on ;)

Switched to some NOD32 thing, seems to have as much protection as a dodgy condom.

    Might give outpost a try.

I ask again. Can you really call it a crack when the “crack dir” holds a serial?

I really want to know. Since I have tested Outpost previously with only a serial and every time I restarted my computer I was back at trial version, and after a while of pasting in the serial I got the notice that my serial was blacklisted.

I just want to know if it will be the same way this time too and I should save me the time it takes installing it and then uninstalling it.

I have used Outpost where you got a cracked .dll file and they worked in the way that I didnt have to paste in the serial every time I restarted my computer. But I wasnt sure if it updated, since when I checked what version outpost I had it never changed.

i use sygate personal firewall and iv never had any probs yet, but to be honest no firewall or anti virus can be 100% secure, and just cos u dont get viruses doesent mean someone aint stealthly hacking ur pc through some obscure open port

    October 25th, 2007 | 22:16

you gotta disable this pos to call home. if you dont, you’ll be on trial foreva.

BTW, Ubuntu. You are funny. And what you are playing on Ubuntu? Oh, your games are php and Java programming? :D

I’ve been using Outpost (just the firewall) for a while now and I’d never go back to anything else. It’s really powerful in that it lets you block by a host of criteria based on the executable, port, traffic type, remote host, remote port etc etc.
So one of the best things it does for you is (for example) allows you to block Quake 4 from contacting the auth server, but allows it to send/recieve any other traffic. Or you could block Ghost Recon from connecting to the ingame ads server. That kinda stuff. very nice.

    @1
lol. going to Linux wont fix all your problems.
Actually you gonna screw yourself over if you keep recommending ppl to go to Linux.

anything man made has flaws in it, there just isn’t enough of the population for hackers to change to hacking another operating system.

If 80% of the world changed to Linux…. because of your promotions… then i’m sure we will start seeing Linux Viruses, and Linux Back-door hacks and stuff…

So by making more ppl use it, you gonna screw yourself over. haha.

Also Linux IS NOT VIRUS FREE, currently it maybe, or it maybe not, as above… anything that is made by man can be broken by man.

There is a reason why OSX/Apple stopped marketing Virus Free. Since a few years back, somebody REALLY did come up with a virus for osx…..

I use Outpost Firewall Pro 2008 + NOD32 2.70 until Eset will release the final build of security suite that will have both firewall & antivirus.
I used Comodo Firewall before that and had to many problems with it, then change to Outpost and never look back.

At last… this is the one prog. with which i have never had a problem… It’s the best software fw imo

  35. 08/15
    October 26th, 2007 | 13:48

i use outpost too, and i like it.
had zonealarm before. in zonealarm it is easier to block certain programs from calling home. this is a very important feature.

Hmm, The serials contained in the pack dont work for me…. all of them say invald

Anyone know where else to get serials for this program?

    October 26th, 2007 | 17:59

Comodo firewall is the worst firewall you can get. It is annoying as hell and will give you BSODs at random. The only thing it has going is that it is free. But honestly i would rather have a mild virus on my box than that firewall…

    October 27th, 2007 | 15:59

haha at jack white #21. i also still use the defunct sygate personal firewall until now and am still happily and satisfactorily protected. it’s got that incidental embargo on going bloatware hahaha. of course, i also use avg free for resident scanning and clamwin for non-passive/manually activated backup.

nothing beats knowledge, wisdom, grc.com and defensive computing techniques to keep malwares and other intrusions at bay. however, i’ve been tracking outpost for a long time and i admire it too – it’s landed on top 1 on more review sites i’ve seen before – that should account for something. so, i’m keeping a copy of it just in case the time comes my spf fails to satisfy me anymore. :-D and comodo looks good as well.

As a former Comodo user, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Comodo. You will get the Random Blue Screens and Freezes.

And see what happens when you try uninstalling it later. In XP toolbar, XP’s tooltips keep reminding that Comodo is STILL your firewall, even after installing another one. Then, when you try searching Comodo Forums for help, it’s the run-around, and a mysterious, hidden link to a ZIP file (why they don’t make it public, I don’t know…) to uninstall the remaining remnants of Comodo (Spyware).

BTW, did you know Comodo’s company is part of a group [Trusted Computing Group (TCG)], which includes Microsoft as a partner. Free my bunghole.

Bloated, Not Free, but still works:
    Outpost Security Suite
    Other Sell-outs…

Free, but unsupported (IMO, Best Choice):
    Sygate 5.6

Free, but surprisingly has an exploited backdoor:
    Kerio
    Tiny

    Free, but UTTER TURD:
    COMODO

    Overall, Pick for the Firewall:
    SYGATE 5.6

To ppl who wonder why serials work only temporarily:
Turn off automatic updates for the app (manual app), Don’t let it send info to their website (for helping the developers improve the app). Letting the app phone home would let them know that you are using cracked serial

I recommend filesclab or kerio and just import rules or edit the rules depending on your environment. It’s both free (at least the old version of kerio before sunbelt purchased it)

Linux/Unix is not really for desktop computing or gaming although there are distributions pushing for it like solaris, fedora, ubuntu etc etc. Granted those distributions are good but still windows is what I prefer. Maybe because I use it most of the time and I just telnet to a unix server whenever I need work done. It’s not the games either because my office computer specs is not for gaming and so is my outdated home pc. I guess it’s just hard to change preferences even though I have used linux/unix desktop distrib from time to time. Windows kinda grows on you if you know enough 3rd party apps or windows scripting to make up for its flaws

Listen smart guy, you probably think AT&T isn’t working with the NSA too and that MKUltra was a conspiracy theory. Try reading the news sometime instead of assuming these greedy corporations and corrupt intelligence agencies are looking out for your best interest.

$$$ will buy you anything. Even a country.
