There aren’t many releases in last few days and if there’s something, it’s usually a limited or super cheap release. The new dvdrip of Adventures Of Johnny Tao fits in the first category: an independent action adventure martial arts flick with some nice fights and effects filmed on $1M budget. The quality of this rip is pretty much standard with mp3 audio on 1 CD.

Johnny Dow struggles to make a living at his small town gas station by charging motorists to see the electric guitar used by his late father a one-hit, rock and roll wonder. Legend has it the guitar was carved in the shape of a dragon’s head and made in part from an ancient spear his father found in the crater of a shooting star. When Johnny’s friend Eddie stumbles upon the other half of the spear he releases an ancient demon hungry for power and destruction. Mika a beautiful Chinese warrior who holds the secret to fighting Eddie and his army of kung fu, sugar-craving warriors reveals to Johnny that the only way to stop the evil spirit is to use the first half of the spear – the dragon on Johnny’s guitar! Together Johnny and Mika set out to fight Eddie and his army, reunite the two halves of the spear, restore peace to the town and – of course – save the world!

    For the budget it actually looks quite good. I’m not saying it is good, but the trailer and poster looks good considering the $1M only (Yeah, I convert to euro currency and laughed! :D

    If you check out imdb and look at the votes in detail, the majority are 8 and above! it has an “arithemetic mean vote” of 8 but a wieghted vote of 4.7 so most people do like it but imdb chooses to ignore them for some reason.lol.

    @16: you need to look at it in even more detail to learn that people who rate it more than 9 are under 18, and female aged 30-44. People who rate it around 4 are male. This means this is an action/adventure movie but for kids and old women. That’s lame. And as a guy, I totally agree with IMDB that this movie sucks/
