Adobe shipping Creative Suite 3

I’ve been already informing about latest Adobe’s product, Creative Suite 3.0, and the company is now ready to ship it to retailers. Available today are Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium and Standard editions and Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium and Standard editions. Adobe is also shipping new standalone versions of Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, Adobe InDesign CS3, Adobe Illustrator CS3, Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Fireworks CS3, and Adobe Contribute CS3. Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium edition costs US$1799 and $1199 for Creative Suite 3 Design Standard edition. Creative Suite 3 Web Premium costs $1599 and Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Standard costs $999.

The standard package offers the same set of applications as the premium version for Web building, but it does not include any versions of Photoshop, Illustrator or Acrobat. The video-focused CS3 Production packages and the CS3 Master Collection, which includes applications from the premium versions of the design, Web and production suites, are not yet available. Adobe is expected to release Media Player, an application for playing Flash videos offline, later this week at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas. Microsoft announced a Web browser plug-in media player called Silverlight and a new tool for managing digital content on Monday at the conference. And what does this mean for most of you? Well, you can expect a patched version of Creative Suite 3 pretty soon, without a need to pay these little overrated prices…

Well that sorta software is professional grade. Thats why its so expensive. lol.

Its created for design companies. Those ppl need it to work. They cant complain about it being so expensive. Its almost like a security company complaining how expensive their security programs cost….

Uh Dave you do know what is Spyware right and Photoshop is far from bloated…. The code not is so clean but all his uses of system or use to make you work more easy. And there is no Spyware in any Adobe software (counting out the pdf reader).

I’ll wait for the Master Collection :)

  14. April 17th, 2007 | 11:27

Yea Anon is correct. These prices are high for professionals.
If you are amateur there are other lighter softwares…
or ways to get it free.

What I do is to pay the software when the products hit the market/clients. This way I include software price (at least part of it) in expenses. And I come out clean.

Since we are at it – If you live within European Union then please sign the petition against the rip-off prices in our countries.

EU comptetion commission is constantly at war with Microsoft, but they need to know that Adobe isn’t playing fair too.

    Make your Vote count:
