C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet << delete the data files here on VISTA CS3 repair activation fix then the CS3 will ask you to reactivate as normal,,, thanks for the fix

delete the file C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\FLEXnet\adobe_00080000_xxx.data

As per reactivation / repair activation of any CS3 products (maybe CS2, I only had CS3) on a Mac OS X. You have to remove the contents of the directory:

/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher

If you remove /Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher as suggested above, all the programs will stop working and require you to reinstall. That would waste you a lot of time doing that! Thank god for regular backups, I just restored that folder and was good to go. After you remove everything from ‘Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher’ and then start any CS3 application, it will prefill your old password there and ask for a normal activation, which is a piece of cake!

Thank you so much. I had this repair activation issue all of a sudden with Adobe Flash CS3 after installing a new motherboard. I simply changed the name of the adobe_00080000_xxx.data file, and flash forced me to enter a new serial number (which I could gen with the regular keygen, and re-activate via phone). Everything worked out fine, and it didn’t mess up my registration/activation for photoshop cs2. Thanks again!

Today ( May 2nd 2008 ) all my installed Adobe CS2 and CS3 stoped working in my PC and my Mac. Got rid of the FLEXnet data and activation worked again. Thank you very much, your information saved the day.

Just incase anyone is interested – i had the same repair activation problem with adobe captivate 3 580
if you follow the path to the location on your vista box (as mine was) C:\Users\All Users\FLEXnet and delete the data file – you need to be out of the adobe program to do this. then re run the program you can go through the normal activate by phone method without the repair activation method….
I would guess that this flexnet data file would be behind all adobe repair activation problems…
