    What’s the diff. between the home and corp editions? I assume you cannot backup over network with the home edition, but anything else important?

    The other is still on version 9.1 though.

    @Bobek: v10 and 11 can backup to/restore from network just fine.

    Anyways. They better have fixed the intel raid issues. The previous v11 I downloaded sucked hard. Had to go back to v10. It would make backups from within windows just fine, but the bootcd wouldn’t recognize a single HD on the intel ICH9R raid (nor on a Silicon Image 3114 based card for that matter), making it totally useless to me.

    Hmmm, it works now, but it’s slower.

    See an updated review of v11 there (it’s spot on):

    I’ve been using version 10 to make bootable clones and am pretty happy with it.
    I wish it allowed me to unselect certain non-critical directories (like Carbon Copy Cloner did on the Mac).

    Is it better than norton ghost 12? I loose my patience with her…

    I recently used a version of this that was included with Hiren’s. Ghost and two others couldn’t do a disk-to-disk copy on my buddy’s computer because they couldn’t read his drive properly, but this one was able to. It did it well, and fast. It was NOT as intuitive as Ghost, though. It was a little scary doing it because it wasn’t very explicit about which actions were being taken.

    But it did get the job done better than its competition, and that’s what really matters to me.

    November 13th, 2007 | 21:41

    @raverbr: definitely better.

    I’ve given up on ghost a while ago. The new WinPE-based ones suck: buggy, compression ratios aren’t too good, requires activation, boots slowly, doesn’t support “older” OS’es like win2k, not compatible with the previous ghost image format as it’s based on driveimage 7 (yuck!) since v9 instead of the “real” ghost, lots of horror stories about registry corruption, etc.

    And it sucks just as bad now using the old 8.x corp version (which was the last one worth using imo): it won’t write images to NTFS partitions, you need to find DOS NDIS2 drivers for every NIC you got for the win98se boot floppy if you need to use the network (edit config.sys and autoexec.bat by hand), extremely limited USB/firewire support, mouse drivers not there by default, no incremental backups, etc.

    I wish I had ditched ghost a long, long time ago.

    what kind of release is this ?
    firts off all several files are missing and now while searching for the missing files, I read that there might be a trojan in it ?
    Has anybody actually got the torrent release working without having a trojan on his pc ?

    someone post a key please ? dont like to get infected ;-)

  29. November 14th, 2007 | 12:32

    @ 27.

    If you want to get fully working release, then download it from provided RS.com link. I’ve uploaded it myself, and also checked it, so there is no any errors with it. Btw, torrent provided is not my upload so i can’t stand for it.

    @ 28.

    If you have AVG antivir, then no need to worry about “trojan”, cause AVG is known to give false positives for scene cracks/patches/keygens. Use other antivir instead…

    November 14th, 2007 | 13:40

    @26. You’re risking running AVG. Ain’t that bad enough? Get rid of that junk and use NOD32. AVG is a joke. The torrent is clean.

    you should know that using @number is dubious, because the number change. the names don’t

    @anyone worried about viruses
    always run a keygen in a sandbox like sandboxie
    that way it does not matter if there is a trojan or whateverand you still get to see the key

    @huh
    nod with its outrageous heuristics is the worst av for giving false positives

    You’d better test this program to make certain that it will restore the backups that it makes. I tested it for a week and never got it to restore a single backup. It always told me the backups were bad. Beware.

    I recently got lazy and had a custom system built (I usually build my own), and the builder installed Acronis TI OEM version. I’d been a die-hard Ghost user for almost 10 years; with no complaints. Hundreds of backups made over the years; 100% reliability on hundreds of restores; all on FAT32 and NTFS systems. But even with all of that, the Acronis OEM version still impressed the heck out of me, so I bought TI 11. That was a HUGE mistake.

    The software is bloated, and has far too many bells and whistles to make it a reliable imaging option. I contacted tech support about bugs and problems with it, as well as certain downloads I needed. The reply took almost a week, and the actual response was inexcusably inadequate. I waited days for an e-mail that essentially told me something that’s posted right on the Acronis web site. The tech support person completely avoided answering my specific questions; instead directing me to their web site.

    I rarely post such negative comments about software, but in this case, it’s certainly warranted. I’ve never been this disappointed with a product, and the company who makes it. For those of you who think that Acronis is good stuff, I’m happy for you. Consider yourselves fortunate. But in my case, Acronis has been an extreme disappointment in every regard. I’ve removed it from all of my systems, and will have to eat the cost of the TI 11 upgrade.

    Summary: Acronis sucks. On all levels. The software, the pathetic tech support, even the web site. It’s a full blown suckfest.

    I’m a Computer Shop personel for three years.
    I bet the Acronis is great!

    why? I can back up the entire whole computer after I newly refromat a computer, install, patch games and application and many more.

    The only problem I have is that I don’t have a liscense for my Acronis. I have downloaded it at

    http://www.download.com and it is only a trial.

    that is why I’am here and looking for a crack…

    or anyone here knows how to delete in the system registry to stop the trail of my Acronis?

    overall comment in Acronis TrueImage Home ver. 11.

    GREAT!

    BEWARE…#20 posted links to a rapidshare download with two keygens. One of it contains a Trojan!

    >>>>>>>>> TROJAN IS REAL! BE CAREFULL! <<<<<<<<<<

    I also had problems with a “trojan” in this release but some users here said I don’t need to be concerned about it. I want to say something to these people:

    Maybe you didn’t know better, but if you deliberately fooled us / me I wish you all the WORST! :(

    My antivir software is “BitDefender” which is actually a great program. As far as I know it is not known for false alarms etc.

    But apart from that my system actually got infected with this stupid trojan, even thought it was blocked multiple times by BitDefender.

    The name of the trojan is “Trojan.Vundo.DVS”.

    It somehow replicated itself every time I erased it. I had to use several anti adware programs (AdAware, Spybot Search & Destroy) together, multiple system restarts were necessary and scans in secure mode, plus some manual temp file erasing and registry cleaning to get this **** off my PC! :r

    This stupid trojan IS REAL and another evidence is that in another torrent release of the same program with the same version there is only ONE KEYMAKER! This one has two and the one ending with “CORE” obviously is the lousy trojan!

    I would suggest to at least leave this second keygen out when you load the torrent!

    @43
    I don’t know what version you had originally, but maybe it would have been better you didn’t upgrade because the golden rule of thumb is “Newer Isn’t Always Better!!”. I dropped Ghost a few years ago and use Acronis TI 9 exclusively on all my systems and it works great! I especially like the Startup Manager option. I’ve never used version 11 Home, so I can speak for it, but version 9 is great IMHO!

    LOL … “Newer Isn’t Always Better!!” .. that reminds me of oldversion.com’s motto.

    Tried ver 11 . It’s nice. If you had seen the Acronis Echo Enterprise ver , u b even more amazed with the Universal Recovery
