this should be interesting….
Hope there's a pre soon. I'd like to watch some parts again!
This has been around for some time now… let's see… (or is that what they wanted?)
I just wondering who will be the first one post link of Oscar
worst oscars ever
I think best supporting actress was left out.
It was great to see Slumdog win best picture. Also I enjoyed Sean Penn's acceptance speech.
And they were afraid the Oscars would be predictable … I guess their worries were well-founded
Good job Slumdog
soooooo predictable the oscars lol have watched all on TVUPLAYER
on great quality
All I wanted to ask you guys is if the 'leaked memo' with the winners was in fact real.
anyone?
That was a great telecast. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Please post the download link when it's available!
leaked list was very different from the actual…
the memo was fake
It should have been funny if there were HD release torrents links near each film.
fake huh? well, i'm glad that TMZ who was all over this 'leak' was proved wrong.
@12
it was found out to be a fake with the first award where it predicted amy adams would win for best supporting actress.
compare the results here: http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/1370/1oscarw.jpg
Sean Penn from Milk was the real surprise!!
wow i love slumdog!!!
why was everybody on slumdog millionaire's balls? there are many other deserving movies…8 oscars are you serious for a movie that was barely advertised or shown in the theatre in smaller cities? that is crap!! the only way ppl have seen that is if they downloaded it or bought it from your hood's local bootleger…oscars blow big monkey balls!!!
Why not put links to the posts on the site?
@slum
Just because you haven't seen a movie doesn't make it bad. It was a great film, and definitely deserved the award. I know of at least 5 theatres that played Slumdog Millionaire in my state, so if someone really wanted to watch it, they could have taken a trip to where it was playing.
it was so sad to see Mickey Rourke out there without an Oscar in his hand, he Definitely deserverd it for his outstanding performance in THE WRESTLER. it is amazing the way he did Randy 'The Ram' 's role. i hope to see more of him(The Returning Champ)this year.
BTW i really recommend this years Best Documentary Feature: Man On Wire. it is very well made with a great great Story.
C'mon people, post some links!!! We haven't been able to watch it here in NZ.. cheers
Please, rapidshare link of Oscars … thank you …
This year's oscars was way too predictable..
links plzzz
Slumdog Millionaire…. So overrated. It was a good movie, but definably did not deserve all the praise it got.
millionnaire recompenses, millions recompenses.
incredible.
@walzac…i did see that movie and i was stating that there were other deserving movies other than slumdog millionaire to walk away with (steal) 8 oscars..and 5 theaters in your STATE are you f#*$ing joking thats exactly what i'm talking about nobody had faith in it then why all of a sudden…… "hey they sucked my D*#$ pretty good last night lets give them 8 oscars..I know that's more than we agreed on but f#%$ it"
Slumdog was great, but it turned into a completely predictable film after the first half (which was an incredible portion of the movie). Afterwards it was just some boy saving a girl from evil gangsters, succeeding and finding love. Blah Blah its been done before to a different extent just not in the same geographic area. Benjamin Button on the other hand is a complete original thought. These artful and creative big budget pieces only come around ever so often. It is rare that we get to see something so compelling that is not so independent. But whatever no big deal i just felt like chiming in. At the very least though Man On Wire was recognized.
Where are those du mbf ags who were arguing with me? Slumdog, A R Rehman, HL all my predictions were 100% right.
ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER EPIC WIN!!!

Mickey Rourke was robbed
This was a remarkably boring oscars this year
Does anyone know, when EZTV will release the full show of OSCARS 2009??
Slumdog was deserving from that list..but TDK and The Wrestler were better films. (And let's not forget Gran Torino!) Anyways, here's a link for Slumdog, y'all:

Where the **** was Gran Torino !? o_O
Also the amount of awards for Slumdog is IMO crazy (especially best movie) and obviously shows how much Hollywood wants to conquer new consumer territory…
Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role

The best movie should be the "Waltz with Bashir" but because is not american.. =(
@ 47. zaryab
THANK YOU for the RS links.
I know its late for a review, now that the movie has won Oscars and all
But i had only seen parts of the movie before and found it too disgusting at all times to watch more. Escapism from reality, i can be blamed for that. I accept that also. Am sure slums are as bad as they are shown.
I refuse to accept the kind of nonsense the protagonists of the movie suffers though, but for the sake of cinematic pleasure, i put it also down to the story.
What I find after watching this movie is
1) Its a very ordinary film. If people call Bollywood crap, then this is crap^crap. Imo if reality is t be shown then whats wrong say with Kidnap, Company or Sehar or a host of other movies. This movies shows all that is bad in India. is that real, no, but thats how the west would want to think.
2) Acting? Give me a break. The child actors were good but even there compare them to Darsheel of TZP and you know who is good.
3) I frankly didn't find anything stunning in the editing or screenplay Oscar material,, wow
Music was great,, and i just mean the Jai Ho song. Nothing special otherwise. Kal Ho Na Ho had a better tune and song for me
If this is what appeals to US, to give them solace that this is the utter depravity of life in India, of slums, well i can understand that in times of recession and job losses, they need it.
However, for me what this movie has done is that it has shown without a shade of doubt that Oscars are one crap award show, no better than our very own.
I finish with a quote from chinese newspaper.
*********************
"" Well known film critics Bi Chenggong and Zeng Zihang attribute the movie's success at the Oscars to its feel-good factor at a time when the United States was reeling under the financial crisis.
Bi said in an article that the showing of utter poverty in the film acted as some sort of consolation to American viewers hit by the financial slowdown. "To some degrees, it is a kind of encouragement for them not to lose heart," he said.
Another critic described it as "a delicious chicken soup for the soul" of the American people at this time.
Shanghai Business Daily published an article saying Slumdog cannot be described as an Indian version of the American dream because the film was about luck. American values are about striving for love and wealth, the writer, Wei Yingjie, said in the article. The film looks at the third world from the viewpoint of a country that had colonised India, he said while referring to its British director. Such movies do little to help understand and resolve real problems on the ground, he said.""
