why bother with the cracked ableton? you have the RIGHT (it's LEGAL) to use it for 14 days with no limitation.
i'm using ableton for 4 years minimum. first on windows, then for a year on OS X. i'm working with this superb software at home, at studio for practices with my band and at many gigs.
also, i'm a computer engineer and i'm gonna get my M.S degree soon, and i can tell you, although i'm using several cracked applications, you never know if this crack groups injected any malicious tiny scripts in the modified executable (unless you're a pro hexa editor; well than you would crack that app for yourself, don't you?…)
so what to do?
1. get an (any!) account from an email provider (google, hgotmail, etc.)
2. download latest (with all bug fixes and updates) version from the official site.
3. subscribe with this fresh account and get your 14 day free trial code.
4. use ableton for 14 days with no limitations! ONLY, you have to be connected to net to activate to saving & exporting functions. i "sleep" my mac before the gig, wake up on a non wi-fi environment and voila. you can save your tone-meister's complaints like "cut that f**king mid's on the synth!!" and again, you do NOT have to be online just to perform.
5. at the and of 14 days, go to step 1.
..and for precious PC is now malicious-code-free for sure.
think about it.

hey mixterz are you comparing a production suite with a mixing tool??? live is on the same line as cubase reason or pro tools!!!! and for good mixings try traktor dj studio!!!
oh oh just one more thing… after the step 5:

PS: i don't wanna disrespect the hard working crackers. they're working for this community for years. and AiR is a well known, well respected team, as i used their releases since cubase 2. but there are SO many dumbasses online to be used as headless bots to spread a worm. well if i were in AiR's shoes, i would… so, i'm taking no risks at all and do a work-around to use ableton freely. do it as you wish..

fruity loops is an old and decent sequencer. i didn't use, or even seen it in years.
back in the days, f.l. was quite dull. but i'm really sure thay they've made a lot of improvements. you should try and decide it on your own.

Maybe a stupid question to ask but, can I also choose not to install the extra bells & whisles the suite version has? I like to add a personal database of all the sounds I made myself.
And about using the legal trial version, well, basically it's too much of a hassle if you're just making music for fun imho. Why bother with trials if I'm gonna buy the software in the future anyways? ;p
Besides, AiR has never let me down so I'm pretty sure I'm safe to say that I trust them enough (btw if you still have your doubts you should check if the program calls back using WireShark).

All the 'Crack only' posts here are 'GRB' (Poor: Constant crashes, wants to call home, "a serious program error has occurred", etc).

Currently, there is no way create a 'crack-only' from AiR's release, as the installation of their release is integral to the proper authorization of the Live software using their .auz file. That said, there is still a step-by-step method to getting the full Ableton Live 8 Suite. Read on…

FULL ABLETON LIVE 8 SUITE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
* NOTE * REQUIRES FULL GRB RELEASE ISO (3GB) + AiR RELEASE
1. Install Ableton Live Suite 8 from GRB ISO
2. Install Ableton Live Suite 8 from AiR's 'Setup.exe'
3. Delete 'Live8DemoLibrary_v8.1.alp' and
'Suite8Demo_v8.1.alp' from …\Ableton\Live 8.0.1\Resources\DefaultPackages
4. Run Authorize Suite 8.auz to launch and authorize Ableton Live
5. In Ableton Live, go to Options>Preferences>Library, select Change Location if needed (~3GB) and then click Repair Library to create your Full Suite Library.
6. After the lengthy Library installation process, you have the full Ableton Live Suite 8.
X. Step 3 is not mandatory, but it's highly recommended to delete those files as they are Demo version packs and could conflict with your Full Suite Library in later steps.

Tried the demo, its bad with increased CPU-usage, but in general this looks awful good! Can't for the download to complete XD

Ive installed this version, and got a 14 day licence. will this "full version" stop after 14 days ?, or will it continue to say 14 days remaining
anybody knws why does the win rar shows this message when i unrar? : "you need to have the following file to continue extraction: a-as801.r00" ……. i can see the setup file inside but it doesnt let me unrar.

Worked fine for me after a couple of tries, 99 of 99 rars must be opened..only thing is there seems to be no library installed in AiR version??
Air version would load on my Vista system? Running v7.01 just fine. Will try downloading another version.
I think the 1gb version has the add-ons. So…. off to download that version. I will try to authorize with Air's crack on the full version.

Why would they say "officially working" then? Official to them I guess. For now 7.02 is the way to go.
Everyone is trying to be the first on the scene before checking the software. Bad stuff can happen peeps! Beware before installing. Unless, you know what you are truly doing. Once again, "hacked" software means bugs and viruses.
As for v8.0.2… same issues I assure you. The security is the problem not the software. They are getting smarter. Question is… is AiR smarter than them?
