Ableton Live v7.0.2-AiR
Well know guys from “audiowarez scene” - AiR came up with newest 7.0.2 version of this popular DAW application. For changelog check here.
Description:
Ableton Live 7 is your companion during every stage of the musical process, from creation to production to performance.
Live offers two main views—the Session View and the Arrangement View—that interact in a powerful and unique way, allowing you to create, produce and perform your music all in a single application. Here is the principle behind each view:
Session View
Live’s unique Session View acts as a powerful musical sketch and launch pad, allowing you to try out new ideas easily and improvise freely. Each cell in the Session View grid can hold a recording, MIDI file, or any other musical idea. These ideas can be recorded on the fly or dragged in from the Browser and played in any order and at any time you wish.
Arrangement View
The Arrangement View offers a timeline-based approach for traditional multitrack recording, MIDI sequencing and other music production tasks. You can even improvise in the Session View, and all of your actions will be recorded into the Arrangement View, where they can be edited whenever you like.
UPDATE: Ableton.Live.v7.0.2.WORKING-AiR available which fixes that “Copy Violation Error”. Get it here.

weird, i only bought the Line 6 GX a week ago! don’t get me wrong - if u play guitar it’s possibly the best thing ever: unfortunately the GX model DOESN’T come with this software so i’m ever-so-greatful and suprised by the timing of this post!
thank u very much!
there area reports of the copy violation error popping up almost instantly
Is it me or is Live getting more complex to use? It’s just like Traktor - when you see how it was when it first started - it did what it was supposed to do perfectly. Now they add so much in terms of new stuff - the whole simplicity of using something in a live environment is gone in both programs… sad really
Clean-up any previous installation before installing this version, and also make sure to NOT allow this program to “call home” ’cause it’ll detect it’s not a genuine copy..

… this means you have to have a personal firewall application constantly running to block Ableton from accessing the internet.
There are free versions of e.g.
Comodo:
http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/
or Zonelabs Zonealarm:
http://www.zonealarm.com/
Thanx 4 this

It all seems so perfect with Ableton or Traktor, doesnt it?
Yeah,thats cool
But i like 2 spin turntables & vinyl so much more then this stuff
Cheers!
Can this be installed on a mac?
“access denied” the instant you double click the installer. checked the rars for CRC errors in the rapidshare links and they are just fine. NFO sez it has a serial number protection but no serial number is enclosed. i dont have any prior version of this solft installed (never have one), so i’m very dubious this is a propper application
How can i say thanks to the air team they are always working for us.
THANKS AIR TEAM
I hope AiR has fixed this release … Live 7.0.1 DID NOT work….kept calling home and crashing all the time, even after trying the 50 suggestions on how to make it work..if they have released another version that is not cracked correctly …then maybe they should just give it up….the uninstall other version etc etc crap DID NOT work on 7.0.1 and it’s a pain in the ass to reinstall all your VSTi’s and arrange them in a new version that will crash in a day or a week..please someone report if they get this working like it should..thank you..I hope team AiR has it right this time..they have been great in the past until Ableton 7.0.1 ..by the way Ableton is still the most user friendly DAW if you bother to grab a book or two and really learn it!!!!
@marduk:
Whats going on with *wrong password*?
Yours given does not work.
Ahmm…
Well i hope i won’t get smacked by telling you where to get it for real:

There u go.
“Copy protection violation” within 30 minutes of running it on a clean machine (i.e. no previous Live installs). Nice try, AiR, but better luck next time. Ableton seems to have some of the trickiest copy protection around.
I am happy with this AIR redemption of Ableton. AIRs first release was garbage. Ive tested this release and it seems to be good. I installed it once, alls good, installed all the instruments from the Ableton website, installing the instruments reverted it to demo, after installing all the live packs I ran AIRs install again and back to reged. All goods. This software is great to learn with, so many processors. I highly recomend this over any other DAW. Thanks.
“Copy protection violation” within 12 mins.
Prior to installing it I closed all internet connections and after it was installed I blocked it from any communication with the net using zone alarm. No affect the message came up right away. Time for Air to re crack and release a - working rev again like they did on 7.01 working….
Good luck Air -WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!!
Still working, ran a few different sessions with no problems. Many instruments and processors with no crashes. Rewired fine. VSTs all good. Like I said above, only problem was the revert to demo after installing the Essential Instrument Packs. That was easily fixed. Happy mixing.
Plz could u tell me how to intsall it?
Many Thanks
i’ll say it again, AudioZoneTorrents.com , learn it, love it, SEED IT!!!
as far as installing,
1. run AIRs installer.
2. go to ableton.com and download the essential instruments packs.
3. install those packs ( this will revert live back to demo mode)
4. after all live packs are installed run AIRs installer again.
5. Make Beats!!
Why would anybody buy a mac? Don’t say performance or ease of use. I am an audio professional and I run windows. Macs are just over priced pieces of garbage. C’mon people, WAKE UP!, spend your money on something else, don’t give it to that theif Steve Jobs!! There is nothing ‘unique’ about a mac. Every aspect of a Mac has been stolen from somebody else, or acquired. Pirated XP3 for life, screw vista too. I think Maddox said it best ( http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=macs_cant ). I’ll use iTunes to manufacture biological weapons as well.
Could someone please post how they were able to download the essential instrument and other packages from ableton.com?
Thanks.
You people have to start reading NFOs!!!!!!
Included in this release is a file.
The file is called AIR.nfo.
Written inside that file is a web address (NEAR THE BOTTOM).
That address takes you to Abletons update page.
There you will find the Essential Instrument Collection.
It’s just that easy.
or.
it’s this easy.

7.0.2 workig correct here , 2 days active now. no problems. plugins working, library working, native remote support ok too now. keeping fingers crossed
I’ve un-installed all of ableton files, containing reg, old als, but my old cache is still LIVING…When I’ve re-installed Live, Library was remained as I fingered. Where are they, cache, HIDING?
@31
c: - docs $ settings - your user name - application data - ableton
delete that. also check local settings.
Ok, here is what you do:
1. Delete ALL previous installations of the Application.
2. Delete
“C:/Documents and Settings/>your user nameyour user nameyour user name</Application data/ableton” AGAIN
6. Re-run the installer (same folder as 4.)
7. done
works for me until now
to put it short: http://nopaste.info/930ff11726.html
Thanks for Nottach, merce. I’ve not come up with Copy Violation for now. I’ve read many Forum, and I feel as thogh Those who hits CV are using XP64bit OS or Vista…as far as AiR release. Or they could’nt erase all previous date, registry, old cache.
In Vista you will find the cache folder here “C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Ableton” Delete that! I still don’t know if it will kill the CV yet.
you actually get CV msgs on all windows systems xp home and newer as i’ve tried it on my notebook and my mum’s machine

Access Denied: Access violation at Address 004613B2 in module ’setup.exe.tmp’ Read of address 00000358
This is the *exact* same problem that I had with AIR 7.01 and also with the Waves.Mercury.Complete.VST.DX.RTAS.v1.01.HAPPY.NEW.YEAR-AiR.
So far all I’ve found out about this is that it happens on some Windows installations. Any clues?
I’m following the directions, but they suggest deleting all previous ableton files… Will I loose all my songs?
I have them backed up on a drive, but will the prog crash once I bring them back in?
…also, I have no directory named this: “C:/Documents and Settings/User Name/Application data/ableton”
I still have this “copy violation” problem even thought i block live using zonealarm he manage to kick it and connect to the home website now zonealarm behave wierdly.
The process Vsmon.exe which is the connection monitor that is used by zonealarm starts and crashs directly then zonealarm relaunch it and it crash endlessly ’til i stop zonealarm.
I add to reinstall it to make it work since ableton live 7 outpass it. I never saw such a thing, that’s a very violent anti-piracy policy (8[) !!!
hi, i cant seem to locate my “clips” folder. i searched through my hard drives (im using a pc) and i cannot locate it. i had live lite 6.o.1 and i installed you version. 7.0.2. and then i deleted the old version and kept 7. my samples are not missing(it would indicate if they were) please help me or tell me where i can find the clips folder.
Hey thanks for the file…
avira just found a trojan “TR/Crypt.CFI.Gen” while installing the files downloaded from rapidshare
wtf?
I’VE GOT ABLETON 7.02 DOWNLOADED AND EVERYTHING HAS INSTALLED CORRECTLY - IT’S ALL RUNNING FINE, EXCEPT I CAN’T GET MY MICROKONTROL TO WORK WITH IT.
I’M RUNNING A NEW LAPTOP WITH VISTA - I KNOW IT’S A LONG SHOT BUT DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA’S, OR KNOW OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW AIR VERSION THAT WOULD STOP THE MICROKONTROL WORKING ??
ALL MY DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE WITH THE NEW VISTA ONES.
THANKS
it keep asking me the serial number.
can somebody help me with the serial number ”
please…please…please…please…

check if the gdiplus.dll in c:\windows\system32 was set to read-only.
please, can someone give instructions for this damned copy violation thing? ALL my setup is based on Live, i’m an amateur musician/producer i don’t make money out of this and i CANT AFFORD THE ORIGINAL PROGRAM! The firewall blocking does not work, the reinstall does not work, what should i do? This thing is driving me insane!
Hi everyone.
FIRST - People advising stuff like “do a clean install”, “install DEMO then AIR”, “block it with a firewall”, “the problem is VISTA”, “the problem is 64 bit”, “i did this and this and it works fine for me” - with all respect, but you just don’t seem to have spend enough time making music with Live 7 from AIR, ‘cos if you HAD, you would surely notice that WHATEVER TRICKS YOU DO, WITHIN FIRST 5-6 HOURS OF CONTINUOUS WORK “Live 7 AIR” CONNECTS TO THE SITE, IF THERE IS AN ACTIVE INTERNET CONNECTION, AND BLOCKS ITSELF. AFTER THAT IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU ARE ONLINE OR NOT. REOPENED, IT WILL BLOCK ITSELF EVERY TIME AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MOUSE CLICKS DONE WITHIN THE PROGRAM!
Hi.
I agree with Starsie 100%!!!
OK, i guess the system won’t let me leave several large replies. I got a full description of “COPY PROTECTION” issue with Live 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 Will post part 2 and 3 a little later. PEACE.
OK, back again.
SECOND - Even before this whole “copy violation” bull starts, right after a fresh clean install on a fresh OS installation, Version AIR 7.0.2 cannot even unlock itself if you double click on an existing Ableton Live set to open it. IT ASKS FOR A DAMN SERIAL! You GOT TO open the program first, THEN you will be able to open your old live set within it.
PART 3
Version 7.0.1 AIR didn’t have “SERIAL” issue, but they both have the “COPY VIOLATION” bull and there is nothing so far that can be done besides NOT HAVING INTERNET ON YOUR PC WITH “LIVE 7 AIR” ON IT AT ALL. I got 3 PCs in my studio, one with XP, one with VISTA ULTIMATE 32 and one with VISTA ULTIMATE 64 all with CLEAN INSTALLED OSs and IMMEDIATELY CLEAN INSTALLED LIVE 7 AIRs (nothing else, no additional instruments, demos, different versions - NOTHING!)
EVEN PART 4 (maybe even 5 coming…)
No matter what you try, with active INTERNET, within first 5-6 hours of non-stop work both 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 block themselves and create some sort of a registry entry that keeps on blocking the program from that point on with or without INET. I worked with different types of projects (dj mixing MP3s without using ANY samples or instruments, creating beats from analog samples, midi recording, ect.) - SAME STORY!!!
And yes, PART 5
After first blockage you don’t have up to 5-6 hours no more, with intensive work now you got to restart every 2-3 minutes… I’ve been working with PCs and “binary” music since 1998, long enough not jump to premature conclusions before i check everything 1000 times. Believe me: both “ABLETON LIVE 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 from AIR” HAVE(!!!) A “COPY VIOLATION” ISSUE AND UNLESS AIR (GREATLY RESPECTED BY ME!!!) REALIZES AND FIXES THAT, THEIR FUTURE ABLETON LIVE RELEASES WILL BE AS USELESS AS THIS TWO!!!
AND FINALLY…
Even though i created and posted a fairly deep description of the STILL EXISTING(!) problem, I, just like many of you still haven’t found a solution and will DEFINATELY let all of you know as soon as i find one. If you need any info regarding “BINARY MUSIC” =), please ask. Respect to all you here and keep the “UN TSS, UN TSS, UN TSS” going!!!
which “serious” musician have an open internet-connection while producing?
Got the CV warning and crashed into blue screen. Upon restart, the software asked for serial keys. Starsie is right. What do guys think? 7.0.3? Haha.
Do the easy thing. Do the right thing. Buy the software. There are people that go to work everyday to create this and other great programs. We need to stop taking money out of their pockets.
Well, perhaps if they weren’t charging an obscene $500 for the soft and didn’t release a new version every time they should have released an update instead, maybe just maybe more people would be willing to spend money. Personally, I just bought V5 little over a year ago, paid full price. They now want me to pay more money to get an update???? ha. ha. ha.
that’s why i like hardware, at least they charge you up front and don’t nickle and dime you for every update (at least most manufacturers don’t).
Ive got my version of 7.0.2 working just fine the only problem is ive lost all my vst bar about 5 of them . My VSTPlugins directory has a stack of them in there yet it wont show them in my plugin page..?? please help.. im nearly at finalizing my trackk
cheers
How do I use the rapidshare part 1 and part 2 files? or where can I go in vista to remove or fix the file or setting that makes the copyright violation pop up and shut down ableton live 7.0.2?
please help I jus dont know what to do.
Hi All,
This works fine for me, however I am switching to Mac this week
a) Whats the best way to get .exe files on a Mac?
b) Anyone know of a Mac version (live 7)?
Cheers all & good luck with your tunes
Thanks Air! another great hack!

Major props and heartfelt thanks: this solves the Access Denied problem completely
;-)! The funny thing is that the reason I came back to this thread today was to post a message that I had found a solution on my own system. In my case, it turned out that installing Eudora 7 was the start of the problem for me. Uninstalling Eudora 7 didn’t fix it but doing a System Restore to just before installing Eudora did clear it up. It was obvious that Eudora had changed one or more Windows system files but I ran out of patience before I could figure it out.
Now the obvious questions: how did you get this valuable nugget of information and can someone who has a channel to AIR make sure they know about it and can work around it in future releases?
Thanks again!

Ok, i just got the Copy Violation Error about the illegal key. Seems to be an inherent problem, as I was surprised at first that my 5.2 UB was getting busted when 7 has been out for ages it seems. Although this is how I got my 5.2 back up and running, it might/should work (except for the different serial #’s) for newer and older versions. This is for Mac, no idea about PC except that you need to clean the registry.
Ableton runs a checksum when you’re computer is connected to the internet (must be fairly random b/c I’ve been running Live for 6 months and I’m always connected via wireless). Ableton has sneaky Advanced TCP/IP.plist files hidden in the Preferences folder, and they are zero length too. This is how i got it working again using info from various forums on the web. Thanks to the genius of Entomologist and PUNK-ska I got Live back fully running (and for good!) and hopefully you can too.
It should be noted that Ableton, when connected to the web, will catch the invalid key if the script is not correctly written. To be sure you can always disconnect from the web before using Live, but that;s a hassle so the script is a perfect solution. Following the other steps correctly will get Live up and running again, but it will only be a matter of time before Ableton runs a checksum and finds that its using an invalid key, yet again giving the Copy Violation Error, crashing Live, and ruining the track you were currently working on. Locking the “unlock.cfg” doesn’t work, as it reports an error if you try to save a file. But if the script is working, then the script will then stay open and every five minutes will call the Unix copy command ‘cp’ to overwrite ‘Unlock.cfg’ with the working cracked one, thus for that file defeating any counting/flagging mechanism. I have it permanently running to re-copy the working cracked ‘Unlock.cfg’ file every 5 minutes - extremely low CPU usage too. Make sure you are not connected to the internet. After its working again, If you load files that have been saved with a (detected) cracked version, it will report back a Copy Violation Error and crash Live. New files should work fine.
1. First open up Terminal, found in your applications folder/utilities. Type (or copy/paste:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder
*that is two commands*
(this shows all files, including the hidden files, in each folder)
2. Go to your home directory, then click on library, then Preferences.
~/Library/Preferences/
3. Look for a file that looks like “Advanced TCP:IP 0000blahblahblah.plist” and delete it.
4. Delete the folder Ableton in the Preferences folder.
5. Go back into Terminal and type (or copy/paste) these two commands:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
killall Finder
(this hides all the hidden files in each folder again)
******Alternatively to #1-5:
Run Terminal and type:
cd Library
cd Preferences
ls -al <——–(this will give you a directory listing of your preferences directory including hidden files)
rm “Advanced TCP/IP.plist” <——–(or whatever the files name is, to delete these, for as many files there are of that type as necessary, but it should be a maximum of two. Make sure you have the double quotes for the file name as Unix takes names with spaces as parameters if unquoted).
6. Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 5.2/Unlock/Unlock.cfg
and delete the file and the Unlock folder.
7. Open Live. The procedure above should have reset your Ableton. It should ask if you want to proceed in demo mode or enter a valid key. Choose to enter key.
-enter this serial:
4008-7527-B461-5C69-8A88-C075
8. Choose “Enter unlock code” and enter the following code (yes, there are strange characters in there):
%SPECLK - <SPECLK - #SPECLK
3SPECLK - XSPECLK - PSPECLK
+SPECLK - !SPECLK - 7SPECLK
9. To unlock Operator, enter this serial:
A407-7107-A71D-5764-5106-A196
10. Again, select “Enter unlock code” and enter the following code:
%SPECLK - <SPECLK - #SPECLK
3SPECLK - XSPECLK - PSPECLK
+SPECLK - !SPECLK - 7SPECLK
11. There, so Live should now open fine. A new “unlock.cfg” has been input and the dreaded Advanced TCP/IP.plist file(s) has/have been removed. However, when connected to the net, Live is still susceptible to the Ableton checksum in the future.
***The only problem at this point will be that any Live files that are infected with the copyright file will not open correctly.
12. Somehow the Copy Violation Error checksum also modifies the ‘Unlock.cfg’ when it saves files, possibly a counter. I found an Applescript which copies over the ‘cracked’ Unlock.cfg back in every five minutes, thus resetting it. The script will stay open and every five minutes will overwrite ‘Unlock.cfg’ with the cracked working version, thus defeating any counting/flagging mechanism.
13. First of all, make a copy of the original cracked ‘Unlock.cfg’ file that is working fine to open Live, and paste it to any location other than Ableton’s directory (I used my documents folder for simplicity).
14. Open script Editor and enter this:
on idle
tell application “Finder”
do shell script “cp ‘/{PATH TO THE COPY OF UNLOCK.CFG}/Unlock.cfg’ ‘/Users/{YOUR USERNAME}/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live 5.2/Unlock/Unlock.cfg’”
end tell
return 300 ‘Application’ and set the checkboxes for ‘Run Only’, ‘Stay Open’ and if desired ‘Startup Screen’ (or choose to run script automatically on login, up to you, but I recommend for extra insurance).
15. Run the script to ensure it works. Double-click the file where it was saved. Select “run,” and if it doesn’t report back any errors but remains open, it should be working properly.
Does anyone know the password for this
none of what i have tried is working
does anyone know if theres a mac version? even of the 7.0.1, I don’t care…
and mac haters don’t give me that “mac is expensive piece of garbage” speech, I don’t care what you think and am certainly not here to argue on which system is better or who as the biggest c**k…
thank you in advance and thank you for all the great stuff rlslog
Hi, I’ve just had the dreaded ‘copy right violation message’ on my Mac, I’m a bit confused because I am never connected to the internet( i did double check and my airport is always switched off)! how can they do this? any solutions are greatly appreciated as I am right in the middle of a project.
Hey Christian
Excellent “NO CV Error” UPDATE - worked without a hitch - BUT a couple of days later, reverted to DEMO mode (and asked for serial.
Am trrying to DL again - but the site seems to be down.
(Also, wondering if guys are missing the UPDATE link above the screen shot and heading straight for the lnk below it - are they continuing to use the earlier version (with CV issus!!)
Apologies for the work this entails!!
