I still have not tried it.. been using fl studio for almost 3 years now, i hear there are people having problems with this, people who had the older team BEAT release appear to be having the most.
guys i have to ask u something.
is it possible to “fix” mp3 file, 80% of the songs is ok, but the other 20% is not, it has the annoying voice of a radio broadcaster guy. u can hear the song perfectly in the background. is there a way to enhance the background sound?

R1pper, this is not the program for that. You might try the plugin called Bias Sounssoap or Izotope RX, two of the best on market for audio restoration and cleanup

Ableton live is a very, very good music composition/recording/live program.
If you’re a complete n00b in this field i recommend starting with something like Fruity Loops which is a lot easier to use. But if you’re already into this stuff and you know what’s up then Ableton Live is a musicians dream.

Judging from the reactions on audionews.ru, this release seems to have a big problem (copy violation message showing after 5 minutes of use). Some say this release should be nuked.
I’m going to wait until AiR release a PROPER.
Other than that, AiR kick serious ass, and are probably the best releasegroup for audioapps at the moment.

I installed the demo, then this copy, and played with it for over an hour, with no problems, saving, everything.. not an issue.. I also have 6 installed, don’t know if that makes any difference at all
Usually very very satisfied with AiR-Releases but yes indeed: after 5 minutes a window pops up “Copy Violation Identified, please contact: support@ableton.com”

yeah. i’m getting the copy violation message. i’ve got live 6 still installed too, so i’ll be uninstalling that and then reinstalling 7 and seeing what happens. bummer.
I am having no problems even still… I have my AiR 6 release, I installed the 7 demo, then I installed the AiR 7 release over the 7 demo… no problems, no message almost 3 hours into production with it…. sorry guys that are having the problem
Hey Christian, you use the same programs as me but i just use Sound Forge 7 for mastering! FL7 & Live rewired is a force to be reckoned with!
Good to see that the most anticipated audio apps are being posted here as soon as they appear on the scene! I already got this but its good to let other people who aren’t on a private tracker know about the best new audio apps! Big thumbs up here from me to you rlslog!

I didnt get any violation errors, i have the 6.0.7 AiR release installed but i just installed this version 7.0.1 and it installed no problem at all! Im using Vista Home Premium 32bit too just incase anyone is interested!

I had Live 6.0.10 installed then installed the DEMO of Live 7.0.1 and then installed the AiR version of Live 7.0.1 and still the same violation error came up, pain in the arse i say….
anyone do a first-time install of ableton w/ this? how’d that go? i’m thinking any keyfiles from previous cracked versions need to be dealt with before install… now if i only knew where they were… and i’m guessing they’re up in the registry too…

wonder when this one can be corrected.
AiR has been so good with it’s 6.x releases..it kinda bums me out about this one.
Is there any corralation between having a 64-bit processor and the protections errors. I have win xp 64bit edition, that has been a problem for some releases.

I think the prob you guys have with the copy violation is that you are using the program while online. Try using it only when offline.
I had the same prob with 6.10.0
But a friend who never used his while online never had a prob, so i did a clean install and never used it while online and haven’t had a prob again.
Theram: You may be right…but the release should have resolved this issue to the point of not requiring you to disable your network connection to use the application.
I have run a network connection logger while using the application and did not notice any odd connections when the error message popped up.
Also, I noticed the message tends to pop up when accessing content on the hard-drive…when I double click on a clip or a device, it almost always gives the message..but if I drag and drop the item, then it is usually ok. I know, that doesn’t make any sense, and it severely impairs the operation of the program…but it’s a step toward figuring this out. Can anyone confirm what I’ve stated here?

people with violation problems have had BEAT releases of ableton installed on their systems at some point by any chance??

I have never installed a BEAT version. AiR is the only ableton release I trust…and I’m starting to waver on that decision.

nice $tf, but it does seem a bit much when simply finding the cache dir and deleting it would bring the same outcome. incidentally, i’ve deleted the cache before every install and still have the issue intermittently.

mine was running fine thus far, but i did what the batch says, ran it, and it still seems cool with a new install.. so its definitely worth a shot. and i wouldn’t hold your breath on cubase. what’s it been… over a year?

just for clarification…
basicly you are saying: ableton live version 7.x.x searches the cache from previously installed versions and looks for known cracks that were done on 6.x.x and then intiates copy protecting lock down on 7.x.x… So if the cache is delected from previouslly installed cracked versions and then i install the AiR 7.x.x, there won’t be any copy protection flags popping up?
$TF, i un-installed everything Ableton and used the patch then installed Live 7.0.1 and STILL the same copy protection problem after 5 mins….
had air release 6.0.9 working fine then installed demo from ableton site then installed air over the top…loads up but only in demo mode.
Anyone got any ideas?

no it doesnt work ..if you think it does you havent stayed on the program long enough..it attempts to contact ableton….THIS NEEDS TO BE NUKED…its not cool dont listen to anyone on here who says they got it working…it works but copy protection will kick in it took me 4 hours in for it to happen..im pissed i was full on into a new project…wait for a release that isnt screwed..wtf air im really dissapointed
always, always try this stuff out offline first…i did and low and behold numerous attempts to contact ableton were initiated ..has AIR gone to the darkside ?
the “contacting ableton” problem you guys have is purely a result of the crack being flawed. the code to “contact” ableton is a part of ableton itself not the crack. martinberg… when you install OVER the demo you have to point the air installer into the directory above the “ableton” directory created by the demo. the air installer creates its directory tree too high.

jza, most firewall apps will tell you if ableton tries to connect to the internet and u can block it, it has nothing to do with the crack , otherwise you would have to nuke almost every game iso released that tries to connect to multiplayer

givmo: yeah. i got that. i’m just refuting what some folks are implying which is that the air crack has something to do with ableton trying to get online like they want to rat you you out or something, when its a function of the software itself which apparently hasn’t been dealt with in the crack. i wouldn’t bother installing over the demo anyway.. just clean out everything ableton less your library from your hd, clean your reg, install the new air and hold your breath. i still haven’t experienced the problem yet since my last install. beat sucks.
i dont get it. is this already cracked? i’ve had no problems yet with this program, but still, seeing Live 7 Demo* on my window isnt as cool as seeing “Live 7 Full Version Dude you Rock”, right?

Mine was freezing and eventually locked me out. I uninstalled all instances of Live, ran $TF’s exe fix, reinstalled Live 7.0.1 AIR release only and its been smooth sailing since, fingers crossed. Loving the new drumrack and sidechain plugins, will definitely be buying this.
yeah i did the same as Geno. but i still get the ‘copy protection violation has been identified’ anyway thanks $TF for having a go, hopefully not to long before AiR releases the next version. maybe has something to do with me running vista.

Mine is still working…All I did was uninstall All Ableton stuff, run $TF’s BAT file, (which cleared out 6.0.5 stuff I didn’t even know was there!) …then installed the AiR 7.0.1 release. I’ve had no trouble since.

Whats with all the install demo stuff? Ok its working 100% for me and not a problem at all. Its fully cracked and no phone home or tried to contact Ableton. There is no need for a nuke because this is like i said before 100% working crack!!!
I had 6.0.7 installed, i downloaded 7.0.1 never even uninstalled 6.0.7 and 7 installed without a hitch! I have both 6 & 7 working no problem and no… you DO NOT NEED THE DEMO INSTALLED!!!
Everything is unlock in this release EIC, Analog, Electric etc etc… so its just a matter of finding the EIC library somewhere, preferably from AiR. I know they had one floating about for Live 6 and you could probably still get it at Audionews.ru or magesy.

@86.. I never said you HAD to install the demo, I just told people what I did.. And still working with no protection error, I use it roughly 4 hours a day as well… sorry for people that it didn’t work (somehow) for..
Problems here for me:
I uninstalled all previous versions, including 6.10 BEAT (I know, BEAT is bad but it worked). I cleaned out the registry by hand. I ran the STF exe cleaner.
But when I run the AIR 7.01 setup.exe I get an “Access is Denied” dialog and then an “Access Violation at Address 004613B2 in module ’setup.exe.tmp’. Read address 00000358.
I suspect that this is something specific to my Windows XP configuration. Any clues, tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

For the record, I’m using 7.01 Air and the size of the setup.exe is 73,043,487 bytes.
for anyone with the ‘copy protection violation has been identified’ during a session, solution is to start a fresh and use no files created using versions of 6 eg. asd/als files.
I’ve been opening ALS and ASD files created by version 6 without any trouble…
I uninstalled 6.0.9 AiR….ran $tf’s cleaner..(noticed it cleared out stuff from 6.0.5 I didn’t even know was in there still…) and installed 7.0.1 ….no demo installation or anything.
@Funkrascal, it sounds like you don’t have admin rights to install software on your account…you may want to doublecheck that…and secondly you may have a bad copy…you could try to download again and see if that changes things.

@AltReality, thanks for the reply but I’m logged on and installed it as a full Admin, that isn’t the problem in this case.
I tried the same steps on a different PC (uninstall 6.05 AIR, ran sft’s exe cleaner, installed 7.01 AIR) and it works perfectly! So, I know it’s something weird on this Windows installation.
I tried running Sysinternals Filemon to see if I could spot the point where it dies but it’s hard to see exactly where the problem is showing up. Even on the good install on the second PC, Filemon shows errors on various file operations, so it’s hard to isolate one of them. I’m going to keep trying that and see if I spot something.
This kind of thing really bugs me: both because I want to get the app going and check it out and because I know it’s probably some simple thing that’s causing it…
Two more things:
I tried the official 7.01 demo and that installed fine.
I had installed Live 6.10 from BEAT before this, which I uninstalled before trying 7.01 AIR.. It worked fine for me but some folks mentioned that BEAT versions were problematic, so I don’t know if that helps pinpoint anything.
This awesome app worked for about a week.. then every 3 mins “ping” .. “Copy Violation Identified”.. Removed all refs to Abletron in the Reg …. removed all proj folders and used stf’s prog and now is ok again. Made sure that all calls to 217.110.104.62 are blocked. Looking good for about 6 hours now…. fingers crossed..
gutted a.i.r release is faulty,
a.i.r are usually so reliable, cant see where they,ve messed up unless its a rushed out b4 xmas job.

2) When you doubleclick the install file you have some kind of access violation error with a number and you can’t install it….
CONGRATULATIONS : you are screwed
….. this error hapens because AIR installers use a sound clip and a skin with animated sound bar thingie that moves …. also this error can come up if you use OLD windows blinds or other skinning software. You can try to add the install .exe file to the unskinable programs list (if you have one in your skinning program) The error happens becuause of one of Windows XP updates … (i don’t remember the number) basically it protects the arrears of memory use and doesn’t allow some kind of access request or something 
these errors have been on AIR releases before as well so 
for you ….. you can try getting some additional updates … (basically update everything you can even .net framework, xp and java etc …. ) maybe it sounds silly but what if ??? you can try uninstalling absolutely all updates as well 
silly isn’t it ?? Sometimes this error appears out of thin AIR 
…. The option for you is to use ableton live 6.0.1 OR continue using BEAT releases ….

That page has all the presets…download everything for Live 7 except for the session drums midi grooves. Session Drums is not included with this release…it is a seperate add-on that would normally come in the new Ableton Suite…Which also would include the Essential Instruments Collection 2.
Tension, Electric, Analog, and the new Drum Rack are all available in this release, and there are some drum samples included…but the full ‘Session Drums’ package is separate and will hopefully be released sometime soon.

not worth it, not properly cracked. spent an hour trying different recommended procedures by everyone, no go. not worth upsetting your current setup. just wait it out till a qualified one is released.
and really theres nothing that is earth shattering that you can’t wait for here. the drum machine is sick though.

well, i too, like gizizchillin, believe it’s a messy job done by air. I installed 7 and it broke down, whereas 6.0.7 still miraculously works like a charm.
I own a MIDI controller and the response time to the MIDI commands seemed unbelieveably better, so it is an earth shattering upgrade for me. I will wait for the proper air release or some lottery money and then buy it
This release isn’t working for me. 6.0.7 was and is really stable and never got a problem, even with internet connection accidentally turned on by me.
I also noticed that the performance itself is poor comparing 6.0.7 and 7.0.1.
For example the same softsynth eats more cpu in version 7, dunno why, and I also had a pair of system crashes and a hang.
It’s so strange, given that I never ever had a single problem with 6.0.7.
Well…I for one have loved the work AiR has done so far, so instead of suddenly turning and stomping on them like I’m seeing so much of in here, I’m going to just hold tight and periodically check back for updated releases. Have a little faith, folks!
Hi! i intsall Air 7.01 in a macbook core2duo 2.16 in XP sp2. And works fine. since 1 week i have it, and play 3 hours and nothing happends, i install in desktop too (intel dual core 3.0) XP sp2 with a previus 6.07 air version… and i have the two version running without problems…
two machines are connected to internet, and not firewall blockin ableton, and nothing like that…
i hope it still running… i dont really know why some get the problem and some not :S

i guess that some false flags was done into ableton app, in sys we call it a trap for crackers. others versions from ableton (with keygen includes) had the same. Sooner or later the crash pop up windows appear. I just can say that debug a program as ableton is really hard job, and the 6.0.7 air release is really a mountain. Hope this poping up flag could be nuked. At the moment we keep on waiting santa clause.

Tension and analog is included in this release. That said i haven’t got the copy violation msg. I did get it from BEAT-releases before, but the upgrade from 6.0.7 to 7.0.1 worked flawlessly. I read at audionews.ru that upgrading from 6.0.7 AiR to 7.0.1 AiR is the way to go if you don’t want trouble. A new release should show up though.

This looks legit…my big concern is why did he pack it in RAR files and then in ZIP files? the entire UNZIPPED contents of the package is only 69.7MB (including AIR.NFO and File_ID.DIZ)…the package double rar’d, zipped, and split into like 30 files weighs 71.5MB ….wtf?
Also this one mentions the Drum Machines add-on ….looking into that one right now.

A roommate of mine cleaned my PC of all previous ableton versions, cleaned my registry and then he installed the WORKING-AiR version of live 7. And thank god it works.

Negative on the trojan in the STF app. Just did a full virus check on the exe and my system after running with virus definitions totally up to date…
Did someone re-up the $tf exe? I wonder if IT had a virus. I am using the BAT file, which has no virus. I read over the code before executing it..just to make sure it wasn’t playing games…it just moves some folders around….that’s all.
I got the Drum Machines samples running…it’s nice to play with the new drum rack instrument with an ableton built kit.

Just ran AVG free antivirus software, picked it out right away. Silly us.
Also, the “Working” Version seems to be clean and runs perfect so far without “cleaning” my ableton cache.
yes can confirm “ableton.live.7.0.1working.A.i.R” release is running without probs,I’ve just updated the live packs all ok apart from impulse.

The $TF v 1.2 is completely clean. I scanned it with the latest ver. of Norton AV and three others. No viruses or trojans or malware. If anyone finds that it’s infected then either their anti-virus software is giving a false positive (this happens quite often with some of them) or the .exe was infected on your PC after it was downloaded.
Still stuck with the “Access Denied…” error as soon as I click install with 7.01 AIR and the new 7.01 AIR Working. Bummer. Very Big Bummer.
hi everyone i install the air working relase but have problems with native control surfaces especialy project mix i think ableton doesnt recognise any native contol surface i dont have the problem with air 6.0.7 anybody have the same issue? i think its the only problem it seems to work with out the registration issue
control issues here as well. i use an axiom 25 and it’ll no longer let me dump the ableton presets to the output. trigger finger mapping of drum racks is sketchy as well.

Impulse won’t work in 7, keeps saying “only audio effects can be placed in send tracks” and I’m putting it in a MIDI track. Uninstalled it, and now 6.0.9 has same Impulse problem. Did full uninstall twice and same thing. Something is remaining from the messed up 7 version that is keeping 6 from playing many Impulse sets.
Hey Neige, I got the same problem when I 1st install the Live 7. No matter where I put the Impulse, I keep getting the “only audio effects can be placed in send tracks” thing. Not just Impulse, but I been the same error for all the other instruments with both Audio & Midi effects rack. I uninstall the Live 7, did the Ableton Cleaner & installed the new working Live. Problem solved.
However, last night I downloaded both FM 8 & Battery 3. Put everything in the correct folder. Start up my Live, and it just hanged on me. I thought Live needed some extra time to scan my new VST’s so I leave it as it is. After 6 hours, it’s still scanning!!! Sooo, I had to do the whole uninstall, clean & reinstall process again. Only then it would load properly.
Anyone got the same problem & know a better fix or patch or whatever???… I don’t wanna keep doing the reinstall thing every time I got a new VST. Thanks.

Well i have de air version with all my surfaces liKe alesis photon x25 and my maudio uc 33 and all wOrks perfec, my impulse works perfect and the audio effects , the plugins works perfect , if you have any problem it maybe becouse you try a crap versions you downloaded and maybe yo have something wrong in your computer config .
I uninstalled ableton as completely as possible, ran $tf patch thingy (no virus by the way) and reinstalled 7. working fine with everything so far.
what about mac , plz help
cracked mac versions are few and far between. that’s as much help as i can give you. last one i saw was 5.?

Live crashes after opening a new file in Ableton, I’ve tried installing different versions of Live v6, Air and Beat, also the newest Air v701 but they all crash when I open a file in Ableton. Can someone help me, I’m using Windows vista. Thanx in advance

Hey STF, what exactly does the cleaner clean? I’ve been hearing that Live hides its footprint pretty well and even cleaning registry and folders doesn’t help.

Definitely control surface issues with the AiR-WORKING release.
The Dump button is permanently disables + it ignores native control surfaces.
FOr a test I installed previous AiR release and the features started working again.
Looks like Ableton really went all out with anti-cracking.
i copy the midi charts folder on live 7.0.1 the first version that doesnt work on live 7.0.1 working air and it seems to resolve the native surfaces problems i hope tha work for u
Exactly i tall you before the problem comes from the no working
version you have to desinstall totally other wise you will have problems. If you used any instruments out from ableton like plugs or others that require folders to puty in the ableton folder , you must copy them in the new ableton 7.01 folder to have them working again otherwise you will have problems using them. Por example de vst plugin drumatic you must put the folder in the ableton main folder , well when you install the new ableton that folder dosent exist copy it from the old folder and you got it.
Please re-up the STF cleaner. still expired on last link.

I can’t open any of my old 6.07 songs without getting the dredded copy protection violation error msg. Is there any way round this? … or do i have to delete all my old songs?
..Or am I noobing on someting?
I can’t set the Library folder.
Every time I pick a folder, it says that the path could not be set, and to “please make sure that the directory is writable.”
I have tried changing the Ableton program folder’s attributes so that it is no longer “Read only,” but it goes right back to read-only.
Any idea what’s going on?
The AIR release looks indeed to be faulty. Dunno how it runs for some and not others.
Was running 6.0.7 fine then installed the AIR 7.0.1. got the copy violation warning and crash.
$tf’s link is dead (here’s an idea TORRENT IT!!!) and reports of _TF_AbletonCleaner.rar contains a Trojan – not risking it.
So uninstalled 7, cleaned registry and reinstalled 6. GOT VIOLATION WARNING AGAIN. Firewall block won’t cure it either. Now I’m screwed big time.
My advice – skip this AIR release. (thx anyway tho)

I thought this was a very nice release by AiR, but after a few months a window showed up saying “Copyright violation found” and it closed. It does that after a few minutes every time I open it now.

when i unrar the ableton7.01_working_air file and unrar the 1st file, open the setup file, itsays something aboutneeding the other files. Iv had this msg b4 with other rar files and have solved it by copying the original file to a folder and right clicking [extract here] this usually works for me but for this package its not working. can any kind person plz give me walkthrough on how they extract the files? i must be more of a dumbass than i thought! plz & thank u!

Im using 6.07 on OSX. It work fine for me. But i think i will buy the complete version of Ableton Suit.. its a lot of money i know but i prefer to have the original with me. I cant be waiting for the newest cracked version… I cant work with something like this. If you really want to make music its better to have the original… Couse you never know when the program its going to work bad… Then u are waiting for a newest version and its always the same…

hello people. also been through the whole copy violation thingy, with the former 7 release of AiR. Got the WORKING-AiR release, cleaned my system from previous version 7, and cleaned registry from all ableton info. I can confirm the midi-controller issue. My ZeRO SL is not recognised anymore, this one is native and need no special settings, other then selecting it. But no go. Further more in the CPU prefs tab, the multicore is greyed out, on my DuoCore system. this used to be active and yellow. i can’t benefit multicore processing anymore. But my biggest orry is the controller issue, has anyone a quick solution for this? Do i need to install the former version 7 agai, and copy something and then uninstall it? or maybe someone that has the folder thats needed can zip it, and torrent it?? Peace

I recently installed Ableton 7 and I am having an issue with getting my Antares VST plug ins to work. They worked perfectly with Ableton 5 but they are not seen by Ableton 7. This is on XP. Anyone else have this problem, and does anyone have a work around for this>

yo have to reinstall the plugins again to have then working becouse you not updating a software , you installing a new soft , so in some computers you will need to reinstall the plugs thats all.

Hello all live heads! This is a post regarding the bloody ‘copy violation error’. I have been trying to find the answer for sooo long and fianlly think i have! I use ‘usenext’ to download my wares….for those not in the know it’s a newsgroup program. All of the ‘live7′ versions on there have the ‘copy violation’ problem apart from one! But its hidden!! If you run a search on “ableton live 7″ you will find a version that has been rated with 5 stars…its the only one with this rating. DONT download this version but DO look at the comments for it. Inside the comments there is a link to another version. This version has worked for me so far. For people who arn’t willing to pay for ‘Usenext’ you do a 30 day trail..so use that to download Live!!

HELP PLEASE!! I installed a couple of different versions of Ableton. 6.0.1, 6.0.10, 6.0.7, 7.0.1, and 7.0.2. (the reason I tried so many is because I was trying to fix this problem, but I’m guessing it happened after I had installed 6.0.10 and 7.0.2.
7.0.2 worked great last night when I installed it. But today, something happened and I don’t know what. When I got on my laptop, the program was closed and my windows theme had changed. (I’m guessing my computer restarted for updates or something.
The problem is that ever since then, I can’t run Ableton. No matter what version. I even downloaded the demo from their site. Every time I install a version and try to open the program, right away I get the dialog box “Live has stopped working.” I’ve uninstalled every instance, did a search for everything ableton and even deleted every ableton instance in my registry, restarted my computer, ran a virus check and I still can’t open the demo from the ableton site. Any help would be appreciated.
I’m running Windows Vista 32-bit, by the way.

Been running the air release 7.0.2 for a while and no probs. Only started giving copy violation errors after installing and using Stylus RMX. If i dont use that app i dont get any errors.

Don’t know for 7, got the dreaded copy protection violation message. with Ableton 6. Did a system restore to a previous day and now it works fine. Suspect a combination of phoning home and registry key. I have blocked the computer from accessing abletons netblock, not from that computer, but from an external firewall

ive installed the demo, then the packs, then air release.
in preferences it says that everything is installed, and when i looked in the folder all the instruments audio effects were there but when i run ableton, nothing appears under live devices.
any one else have this issue

To get round the Copy message (Well to solve it for abit) –
Uninstall Ableton 7.02
Run CCleaner and Cleanup Registry
(Download it first from google, type in CCleaner)
Delete all Folders Related to Ableton
(D:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Ableton)
(There are more but cant be arsed to find them, find them yourselves)
Reinstall Ableton 7.02
This will fix it for anything between 1 week to 3 months. Then it will start happening again, so repeat again. Ive done it that many times I can do it in less than 3 minutes.
Option 2 -
Try 7.03 by h33t, I tried at work but had some problems playing certain mp3 files which worked in 7.02, gonna try at home and see if I have the same problems.
I have had this experience once-Here is what I did and it is working for the last several weeks now w/o a problem.
1.Formatted C drive,reinstalled Windows xp-SP2-Please not forget SP3 -dont install.
2.Disable all copnnectivity on the host computer like network Wireless,BT etc.If necessary keep the short cut on the desktop for fast enabling and disabling.
3.Reinstall Live 7 -WHEN THE NETWROK IS DISABLED-keep the netwrok disabled at all times when Live is working.
4.This is very important if you want to enable internet-pl restart the pc after closing Live-and then enable the network/wireless-Pl take care not to do anything with Live when you are online.
5.Once done pl disable network restart the PC again to switch on Live and work.
6,The reason is even as you close down the Live application-if you hit ctrl+alt+del-you can see LIVE 7.0.1 at work under processes occupying 172mb of memory!!!You can never disable it here.
Only when you restart the pc-This disappears-thats when you can connect the internet etc.
Let me know how this works!!!!
