This program is glitchy with some codec packs. For some reason when I start a convert, Final Codec starts at the same time and A-Z crashes?? So I use Total Video Converter, NP works great.

My problems with videora is that it doesn’t convert .mkv HD files for ipod without messing up the audio, and doesn’t deinterlace fullscreen .vobs.

This monday I had to be somewhere all day just sitting doing nothing and waiting, so I wanted to quickly compress several hours of anime to play on my creative zen:m. Biggest problem is alot of my newer anime is HD, packed in MKV files with softsubs. I tried many of these commercial packaged that supported Ipod (anything that converted to 320×240 mp4 would work) and they all sucked really. They wernt fast, bad UI, or the most common problem, didn’t apply the subtitles to the final video.

I then stumbled over an application called AllToAVI (found it when searching for converting anime to ipod). Not only is the UI clean with plenty of features, but its fast, offers wonderfull support for subtitles.. and easily batch Ques multiple files. I threw about 5 different anime series at it, and only one of them (it was mkv/h264, but it wasnt the only series like that so I can’t spot what the problem is exactly, theres something it dosnt like about the original video) didn’t encode properly, it would corrupt a frame every several seconds and come out of audio synch.
