Then you have to ban everything that separates people. How about people who identify themselves as American, Canadian, Asian, or Spanish. I like the Pittsburgh Steelers so I'm a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and your another. I come from the East and someone else is from the west. In the end some people love to identify with their what they choose to label themselves with. Sometimes it's annoying when they overdo it, but why get all bent out of shape over it?
I see a lot of posts of people taking issue and ranting over anything black related more than anything else. Is there that much fear in people that blacks can't open their mouth without being attacked?
What the hell do I care if there's a movie called Its A Good Day to be Black and Sexy? It doesn't interest me just like if it was about Whites, Europeans, or Asians.
I hear a lot of people trying to express that they don't care, but they do when they go off on a rant. Well if they truly didn't care they wouldn't rant at all. They wouldn't give it the time of day.

i went to a school that had a little of every flavor, but was mostly white, hatboro horsham in montgomery county pa, fairly wealthy school district, i think the average home there is $350k, i am mixed, but none black, and have friends of every single race and religon and can honestly say that ive never seen a black, asian, latin or whatever person have a problem with white people, but you would see white people with a problem (not all of them, but a scary percentage) and anyone who plays on xbox live can relate, the racism can be shocking. hell im a minister (yes i dl everything) and have had white cops stop and search me while walking down the street because i look suspicious, never a black cop though.

I am saying that the reason rascism has gotten so far outta control is because they subject themselves to it. has nothing to do with Identifying ones self in a certain way. Identifying ones self ina certain way and expecting special treatment is a different story. If my daughter had a biracial baby that baby would be brought up to be a proud human being with an understanding of their heritage but would aslo understand that their heritage does not entitle them to a free feckin ride through life just because you think you are special

I can see your point, but I don't don't agree, because you're looking at it through a very narrow view. I do agree that no one should glorify gang violence, being a thug, crook, "keeping it real" by trying to stay ignorant, and just plain stupid and warped behavior, but look at how they got here. Sure, no one alive has felt the bonds of slavery in the US, but oppression and racism is still around today. When you're constantly putting a people down in simple things like black targeted police checks, beatings and shootings when if it were a white person it wouldn't happen, then what do you think it does to people? Kids grow-up powerless so they form gangs to protect themselves and feel powerful. And because they're kids they start thinking they can take advantage of people since they've got so much rage built-up. Then a few become famous as rappers and such, and they try to show-off, which creates a twisted role model. So now we've gone around 15 years of rap thuggery and no on cares that the 20, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's had their white thugs.
I'm not saying it's the same thing, but when you've been looked down upon all your life by most of society, then wouldn't you rebel against society just like you're fighting hard to prove your point right now?
I grew-up in a lower class part of town too. So I know most of these kids of all races are playing gangster. People would ask me where I lived and their response would be "that's a dangerous place". My response would be they're a bunch of scared children. I can handle myself so I'm not afraid of confrontation, but getting bent over a stupid movie I can tell is below you. Let it go.
It's fine to hate thugs. I think wearing their pant waist to their knees and walking with their shoulder dipping left and right with each step, makes them look stupid. But talk with them about what matters and give them enough time to realize they can have a good life if they get a job and stay out of trouble, and they'll turn around. That's why it's good that troubled kids get jobs in grocery stores, outlets or whatever, it gives them positive reinforcement that they're on the right track. Everyone needs a second chance. If you take everything away from them then the gang is the only direction they have.

And I personally see separating yourself from the social structure by thinking you are different because of the colour of your skin is ignorant. That is doing more harm to yourself and your community then it is good.
