A Global Warning 2007 DVDRip XviD-DOMiNO

There’ve been already hundreds of documentaries about the threat of global warming but this is such a hot topic right now that various filmers make more and more movies like that. A Global Warning is yet another document from popular History Channel which should give you a small insight into the matter. Standard 1 CD rip.

Arctic ice is melting sea levels are rising and glaciers are shrinking at alarming rates. And the Earth is getting unmistakably warmer. But is this vast potentially catastrophic climate change the result of human behavior? Or is it simply the Earth s natural cycle of warming and cooling periods that have occurred since the planet formed? The History Channel offers an in-depth study of the science behind this controversial hot-button issue.

Right, cause ALL the ice on the planet is floating in the oceans, and there isn’t a damn thing wrong with sea-ice melting anyway, and ocean levels are the only effect of global warming. Everything is fine and you have nothing to worry about… now go back to sleep.

but the earth warms and cools all by its self, without any prompting from us..
BTW water is water, theres the same amount in total (in liquid form or ice) as there ever has been. it isnt getting shipped in from the moon.

“put an ice cube in a glass of water and the water level doesn’t rise”

Right. Prove your “point” to yourself, steveo. Go get a glass and fill it to the top with water. Then add ice. Any amount will do. Does the water then overfill the cup?

If you’re going to try to make a sensible statement, then think things out before you post, ok?

    @fan

Most scientists do not believe human activities threaten to disrupt the Earth’s climate. More than 17,000 scientists have signed a petition circulated by the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine saying, in part, “there is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate.” (Go to http://www.oism.org for the complete petition and names of signers.) Surveys of climatologists show similar skepticism.

it’s all about money and business. The billion euro industry that seeks to make money off “green” science and technology is pushing this fear mongering and docu-dramas. They simply look to make profit from what other big business industries such as oil, minerals, coal and so on have been making for the past hundreds of years. It has almost nothing to do with the nobility to ’save the earth’. It’s always about the money, and it always will be, on both sides of this issue.

If Global Warming is for real as most of the uninformed try and state, then please answer these four questions
    1. Why are the same people who now say we have Global Warming, the same people in the 1970’s that were screaming that we were going into another Ice Age?
    2. Why does NOAA and NASA sat photos show that all the ice in the northern polar regions is over 98% back and refrozen? Even the UN Climate Change Commission begrudgingly admits to that.
    3. And here is the biggie..if Global warming is real like you uninformed people claim it is, then how did we come out of the ice age? I mean there were no people there to effect the environment as Global Warming people claim.
    4. In 1833 the temps world wide dropped so suddenly that Boston harbor froze solid and people were skating out to the ships to unload them, vineyards died all over Europe as well as crops and animals and people. The cause? One volcanic explosion called Krakatoa. But we warmed back up because nature took care of it.
You explain these four factual statements and fit them into your Global Warming Theory and then maybe the 52,000 climate experts worldwide that say this is bunk, will agree with you. Until then allow people the right to listen to the experts without being debased and attacked for doing so by small minded sheeple

That being said….if I hear one more person on their personal global warming pedestal I think I’ll go crazy. The earth has been going through cycles since the beginning of time, is incredibly powerful and resilient……people are SO arrogant to make so many assumptions without facts (slowly there is acknowledgment that a debate even exists….no thanks to propaganda artists like Gore). I just hate how one opinion is constantly presented as factual everywhere you look when it’s no more proven than when we thought the earth was flat.

I hold a biology and geology degree. I’m telling you with full certainty that the OVERWHELMING majority of the scientists are firmly behind the notion of global warming as an effect of man’s activity. Also i would check what they consider to be scientists when they made that “list”. I believe you may be surprised.

Given the facts floating around everywhere today the idea that some americans (well, there i called it, those crazed deniers are yanks) still believe their gas drinking caddies won’t make a dent on the planet. Apparently having one city destroyed is not enough and they need more. But then again most of those crazy people live inland up on the mountains so they should not be concerned about that…

LoL Mr.X is so dumb he just compared Global Warming, which according to many many sources is just an over-reaction to a natural trend in the Earths cycle, to people who don’t believe the holocaust happened, what an insensitive waste of life.

I’d like to see one notable scientist say global warming is really happening, a non liberal/non recycling obsessed one. It won’t happen because they don’t exist. Anyone that has claimed it, upon cross examinations, have always admitted “this is just one option for the climate changes we are facing”

I love the inbreds on this website, they just grope for facts that support their argument while ignoring the complete other side of it(the side which contains more science, and less emotion)

1922- They declared the world in a state of global warming.

1975- They claimed an ice age was coming and that we were in a state of global cooling.

2005- Global Warming becomes a hot button issue again.

    Prediction.

2040- Everyone complains the world is going into another global cooling period. More alarmists unite.

costa200 @#40 says he holds a bio and geo degree, yet (anecdotally) offers to convince us that the “OVERWHELMING majority” of scientists believe in AGW.

    (a)Define overwhelming

(b)Cite the source of your (now defined) overwhelming claim

    (c) Whether you can or not (he can’t :) ) acknowledge that “consensus” is not scientific proof, and that science has changed it’s position on many matters over time.

“The Club of Rome” a globalist think tank invented Global Warming and wrote in a report titled “The First Global Revolution” (1991), we find the following statement: “In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill…. All these dangers are caused by human intervention… The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.”

Im sure most people would accept that climate change is a contentious issue.

But surely most will also agree that respecting nature is of pinnacle importance. Most proposed changes being led by the eco-front such as recycling, lowering emmissions, preserving natural habitats etc. can only do good.

Polarised opinions often lose sight of the common ground in between.

If you believe that global warming is just a “cover-up”, “contreversy” or a “cooked-up” issue, your brain just too tired and feeble to understand that there are some things in this world that is factual. You’re watching too many controversy-plotted films that your brain cannot or would not accept facts anymore.

Or maybe you just dont have access to other evidences? Maybe some other evidence from a 3rd world country like ours. You’re so bent at disproving GW that you all failed to noticed that it’s called “GLOBAL” warming. Its not just happening in your backyard, its all over the neighborhood buddy.

’sh|n|gam|’ is leet speech for ’shenanigan’?
anyway, sh|n|gam|, you are mixing things up a bit. of course it is a good idea to save our environment. but also it is a fact that average temperature is not constant over longer periodes. remember the ice ages, else google. so maybe it IS getting warmer at the moment. but is this caused by humanity? there were times on this planet with lot’s more co2 in the atmosphere, and there were other reasons that caused much warmer climate than we have today, eg in the middle-age, proven by seeds of palm trees that are found in germany from that time and also by the fact that people would not have survived the relatively cold winters there are now, or atleast they would have had better insulated accomondation. there are many other proofs for that. was that warmer periode man-made too?
also yesterday in german news the said that the polar ice is growing, and the arctic sea temperature has decreased, but global warming specialists don’t think this is any good sign. but if it was the other way around it would be a bad sign? makes me laugh. the scientists who jumped on the bandwagon imho did so because they hope it secures their jobs, and also because some, no a lot of them mentioned sheeple become scientists, too. i can assure you, you dont have to understand anything to become a scientist, you can learn it all by hard.
i believe global warming is FUD, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$-FUD, eg fuel for stupid media and an ultimate jackpot for politicians as they can charge us for measurements which nobody can ever prove to have succeeded or not. and al gore can say ‘man-bear-pig, see, i’ve told you so’.

CO2 is not a major factor in global warming or cooling!!!
movie industy just used this and make a multi-bilion dolar buessnes out of it :)

the bigest factor that has the most influence on our climate is the sun, and there is a lot of things that are happening on the sun right at this moment. (leran more -> solar cycle)

to explain you how a CO2 is not a major factor, imagine that CO2 rises for 100%, the temp. rises for couple degrees and we adapt, but if the sun gets twice as hot as it is… well i think i dont need to tel you what would happen :)

i know its an absurd case, but its for those that know nothing about… ANYTHING :)

    @47 GZG

I do not “claim”, my credentials are real. If you’re looking for evidence you just have to open a scientific journal in a field of science connected with this issue. For every study denying global warming as an effect of man’s activity (usually with an oil company funding it) you’ll find 100 that accept the anthropic cause of global warming.

You want a source? How about EVERY enviromental agency from EVERY civilized country have issued warnings about this. Do you know how many science academies this represents? How many pHds in hundreds of universities?

Honestly, anyone who thinks the scientific community is not concerned with this is simply ignorant on this field.

The fact that some of you are claiming that the scientific community is on your side in this debate is proof enough that you’ve never even opened a scientific journal. There is a reason why there isn’t a list with scientists supporting the rational side of the issue. It’s just they are so damn many of them that it would take a house full of papper to collect half the names. Your 17,000 “scientists” (wich include a majority BS degrees in unrelated fields BTW) are peanuts. Heck just google up global warming in the wikipedia and notice the scientific backing it has.

And against this you have what? Hmmm dentists and some farmers?

But you’re right in saying science has changed the way to see some things. On the other hand is has been much more right dead on and did not need to move from the initial idea.

Plus you do not have enough knowlage in this field to “grade” anyone, much less someone who does this for a living.

    @52 Yammitor

I believe you’re the clown here for presenting that ridiculous article from someone who don’t know crap about what he is talikning about as if it proof of something. In fact the idiot who wrote that missunderstood the findings completely. In a clear display of ignorance and plain stupidity (with a little bias in the mix).

People in the know are laughing at you.

  58. GZG
    April 25th, 2008 | 02:36

costa200 #57: You’ve expressed your views with a little less childish melodrama than a few above and for this at least, I commend you.

I would not for a minute suggest there was no “evidence” for AGW, as you indeed acknowledge conflicting “evidence”. Imho, neither side has “proof”, certainly nothing that can be demonstrated by replication.

What is it with this “funding” thing by the way? Firstly, “it ain’t necessarily so”, and secondly, so what? If funding from interested parties were an inherently bad thing, there wouldn’t be much to show in the way of pharmaceutical research to name just one field.

For any others who loudly claim “big oil” etc behind views not to their own liking, we could look at (non-scientist) Al Gore and see if he has anything to gain from his agenda … hmm…let me think, surely he’s playing it straight down the middle (pure science and objectively at that), isn’t he?

Environmental agencies have to keep busy doing something, and we all like a focus, a goal and hey, if we can gain mainstream support, we can feel good together.

I think you lower the tone of your attempted argument by suggesting that just a few dentists and some farmers oppose your belief (people in the know are laughing at you). By way of illumination, and ignoring dentists & farmers (if any!), there’s still a few Phd’s signing off on the letter reported at http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=164002

Never mind grading, who amongst us is qualified to “settle the debate”? Are you a climatologist with some cred’s or were you one, does that make your science incontrovertible?

If anyone cares about this planet, our children’s children future, the way World Central Banking has manipulated the masses, corrupt administrations, abd corporations,….do something,…any action is better than no reaction. We need change,….serious change,…we need a revolution.

@60 white people did not force blacks into slavery. it was rival african tribes capturing enemies and selling them as slaves to the europeans.

That last comment should be ignored by the jury and stricken from the record. Bailiff, have this person removed from the courtroom and remanded to custody, where they shall undergo psychiatric competency evaluations.

No one said that white people forced blacks into slavery. You misquoted rickybobby(doh!), who actually said “white people used blacks as slaves”.

Fact is, and you cannot argue this, some white people (yes, and some black people), did force blacks into slavery. Are you suggesting that slavery was voluntary?

Holy crap. Hopefully this lesson will teach you to think before speaking to avoid making such huge, idiotic blunders in the future.
