A Clockwork Orange 1971 720p HDDVD x264 PROPER-hV

And here is BRAM again with another HDRiP, because I know you like mine the most (your templates suck, Scit :P :P) Just joking around here, but let’s get to the point. hV just released another PROPER; A Clockwork Orange. It’s an old movie (1971) so the quality won’t be top-notch but of course it will be better then just the standard avi-DVDRiPS you’ll see around.

Alex, a teenage hooligan in a near-future Britain, gets jailed by the police. There he volunteers as guinea pig for a new aversion therapy proposed by the government to make room in prisons for political prisoners. “Cured” of his hooliganism and released, he is rejected by his friends and relatives. Eventually nearly dying, he becomes a major embarrassment for the government, who arrange to cure him of his cure. A pivotal moment is when he and his gang break into an author’s home: the book he is writing (called “A Clockwork Orange”) is a plea against the use of aversion therapy, on the grounds that it turns people into Clockwork Oranges (Orang is Malay for “Man”): they are not being good from choice (sentiments later echoed by the prison chaplain). The film reflects this: many bad scenes in a Clockwork Orange are accompanied by jolly music; if we are to experience them as we should, we have to do it consciously, by realising they are bad, and not because the director tells us so through the use of music and images.

@7: I don’t think the critics really liked it since it was banned in Britain until a year after Kubrick’s death… (Burgess didn’t like it either, but IIRC, Stephen King didn’t like The Shining)

@7 what planet are you from? speak for yourself. that kind of sweeping/generalising statement is exactly the type that critics you hate give.

so yeah, i loved this flick. & i picked it at a video store, not by virtue of a critique on a newspaper printed years before i was born

    kubrick is king

Absolute classic, this was banned in the UK for years, you must put this into context, other films of a similar genre around at the time were absolute bum, poo and wee wee.

#7…the fact that you use the term ’sucked ass’ is an indication that you know absolutely nothing about cinema.

#12…Kubrick imposed the ban himself..concerned that it would incite copycat violence..

Classic..if only I could play x264 on my PC lol

    @12
burgess in fact _liked_ the film, which unlike lolita followed the novel quite faithfully. his abhorrence was directed towards the filmmaker, not the film, because of kubrick’s ego, among others.

king did not like the shining. as if people would care, this commercial, phillistine, hack excuse of a “writer” made his own sucky version that is a stinking excuse of an excuse of a “movie”

Actually I dislike kubric but loved the movie…..kubric is an ass of a person, he even decided to change the end of the movie and the actual writer got all the crap for it…even knowing that he wasn’t the one that changed it…..and Kubric being hes so called friend never actually stood and defended him…………..anyway who cares about that….the movie is damn worth it…the way they talk the dialogo is great.

    (insert number of post here)!!!!!

but seriously, there has been a number of Kubrick films reissued on DVD and Hi-Def last Tuesday, each individually or together in the new Stanley Kubrick Collection.

These films are A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A Space Oddssey, and perhaps the most important film in this collection EYES WIDE SHUT. EYES WIDE SHUT is finally available in the US in its uncut edition. The previous theatrical version was lambasted by critics and film fans alike due to Warner Bros. digitally altering scenes without the consent of Kubrick, which was at the time an impossibility since he was already dead.

The retrospective documentary Stanley Kubrick: A Life In Pictures is included in the collection as a bonus.

But since there is a HD-rip of Clockwork Orange already out, I’m sure the rest will follow.

Don’t forget, cinema already was high definition since 1935, the way to see that quality in home just is available now with the Blue Ray and the HDDVD and the 1080i TVs exist. But, if you have a 35mm projector in your room, the quality will be better.

this movie would have been even greater if the last chapter of Anthony Burgess’ original draft was brought in. Instead of having the feeling that you have no idea what is going to happen to alex, this chapter helps depict what happens to alex and how he continues to live.
