A bit of referers once again
I was already writing about the ways how people reach this site before few months, and because it’s always an interesting experience to check referers (pages which links to RLSLOG.net, usually search engines), I’ll publish some of these queries which are the most popular nowadays.
The real number one post at Releaselog is the post about soundtrack of Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Drift. You could notice this also in comments, because there are more than 120 comments at the moment, which is by far the biggest number at this site. I was also thinking about spliting comments into more pages to make it more clear and faster loading, but this is an another chapter, now back to queries. The reason for such an ammount of comments is very high rank in Google results, so if you type on of these queries into Google, you will most likely get to this site. You can also notice some interesting typos or slight changes in the name of the movie:
- tokyo drift soundtrack
- the fast and the furious tokyo drifter soundtrack
- the fast and furious toko drift
- fast and furious tokyo drift soundtrack
Other people are interested in the more detailed parts of the movie:
- what type of motor is in the rx7 in tokyo drift
- song played in tokyo drift with lil bow wow’s car
- “tokyo drift” music not soundtrack (lol)
- tokyo drift nerd
- japanese song in tokyo drift
But there are also other posts which are very popular on the result pages of search engines, usually requested by people experiencing some problem with a not working game:
- titan quest securom
- download crack hitmanblood
- “elder scrolls” torrent best fast
- cd protection glory roman
- hitman blood money emulation
You can see from this that even quite old releases like The Elder Scrolls 4 are still popular and people look for them, so it’s worth informing about as many titles as possible. Some people at Releaselog criticised informing about new patches, but there are also many people coming here just because of some patch, so it was worth writing about it:
- heroes of might and magic 5 patch
- heroes v patch 1.1 cannot be applied
- hitman blood money 1.2 patch wrong disc
- CALL.OF.DUTY.2.UPDATE.1.3-DEViANCE
So as you can see from these examples, the origin of traffic and people coming to Releaselog is very wide. I was already writing about it, but there isn’t almost any other website with similar niche and content like this one, so the majority of people comes from search engines, mostly from Google, Yahoo or MSN are following with a huge distance. This is something what many webmasters would like to reach, but it’s also very dangerous, because almost noone will search for soundtrack of Tokyo Drift after one year - you must keep the site update then to gain some traffic. In case some other website would link to here, it would be linking probably also next week, month or year, no matter of some trends and popular queries, but this is just a risk of such a site. I hope these referer examples were at least a bit interesting for you, because I really like the way and style how is this site developing ![]()

Well, I love this site and check this out daily.
Keep up the good work.
I love it too and i check more then once daily! I just wished people will help you out more Martin as you requested in the beginning so we could have a much better info about new releases! These days i never check other sites for torrents because i know the very best will be posted here so please keep up the good work!
Regards
Simon
I just love it all. Ol-skool on new technology. It’s perfect and the releases appear here fast enough for me.
You can be proud Martin, you run one of the best sites in the scene.
I use the rss feed in opera
Martin: Do you have any solid (120×60), static (jpg) banner about Releaselog what I can place on my site?
sorry scraggy, I don’t have anything like this at the moment. may be you could use the logo from here if you little adjust the size.
No problem, I adjust it!
I have the RSS feed of this site on my Google-HP so I come to this site at least once a day. While the information about the releases is quite useful, very often - also in connection with many visitors - the comments reach a level where it’s almost unbearable to read them. Just think of the Tokio Drift OST article… after a while every other post was something like “LOL U R A FAG!!1 LOL TOKOI DRITF PWNS!!1″ and the responses looked the same or worse.
I see it as part of a problem that many people that come here don’t really know that or how they benefit from the warez-”scene” (in this context: the upper-level distribution and releasing via FTP etc, then eventually getting on p2p) and just come here looking for some torrent-link, post a comment that doesn’t really have anything to do with the (quality of the) release they are leeching but rather with their opinions about this CD/Movie/Game… and often it either totally rules or sucks (btw: why is it so hard for people not to give a shit about different opinions and why tend opinions to be so extreme?). I believe having some “rules” or at least a few guidelines about posting here is a good idea to build a better working and more helpful community instead of having to scroll through pages of poorly written comments.
Still coming back every day though
