8MM 1999 iNTERNAL DVDRip XviD-CULTXviD

First of all I would like to wish all our readers a Happy New Year and to inform you that today I close 1 year at Releaselog. Thanks to you I’m still active and posting! Today I couldn’t find any new ‘Old DVDRip’ release so I searched the NTi website and I found out that I missed this release that was released 3 weeks ago by CULTXviD. This movie stars Nicolas Cage and I remember it was a hard movie to watch, I enjoyed watching and recommend it. Enjoy 2008!

Tom Welles (Nicolas Cage) is a surveillance specialist - what used to be known as a “private eye” - but his version of the profession is hardly the stuff of which legends are made. He has a modest, home-based practice in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he lives an existence remarkable only for its normalcy with wife Amy (Catherine Keener) and baby daughter, Cindy. Respected but still waiting for a big break that will improve his professional status, Welles spends most of his time on routine cases involving unfaithful spouses and the like. Nothing too dangerous, nor too threatening… until a small, innocuous-looking plastic reel of film turns Welles’ life upside down, sending him down a sordid and terrifying path into society’s darkest corners.

    great movie

nic cage goes under next to james gandolfini and peter stormare´s performance, i actually watched this movie more than once coz just because of those two guys, james gandolfini was well unknown to the public and probably just remembered from true romance..he just fitted his character in 8mm just too fu**n well, every second of his appearance was fun to watch! for peter stormare, dino velvet couldnt have been played better by anyone else, just my opinion

  22. booboo
    January 3rd, 2008 | 00:50

28% at Rotten Tomatoes I think proves the point that this movie is dire - it takes preposterous plotlines to new dimensions

truth is, almost anything with Nick ‘Daddy’s Boy’ Coppola (oops, I mean ‘Cage’) is pretty much a vehicle for cinematic badness

    @ #23:

the rating on rotten tomatoes is meaning shi* the same as all other ratings on all other sites, same for imdb, i dont have any clue how those guys are rating but it for sure aint that what most people i personly know are thinking.

example: that dumba** moronic fu**in waste of a movie like “tideland” got 6.6 out of 10 on IMDB but in my opinion…and many others…that movie was the worst of all times and deserves a rating of 0.1, i dont remember any movie being THAT dumb, useless, boring and annoying and most of all that annoying kid with her CONSTANT annoying babbling was a mothafu**in ANNOYING pain in the a** to watch, i still gettin angry just thinking about that movie.

its one of those movies when done watching you think “what the hell was this all about anyway now ???” PLUS that it wasnt just useless but ANNOYING as hell.

so i dont know what kind of people rated “tideland” but it must be the same which gave 8mm such an undeserved low rating.

Happy nu year 2 all. Now u guys might be better tryin’ to grab this if u have a premium usenet subscription: 8mm.1999.iNTERNAL.DVDRiP.XviD-MiST. The rls dates as back as 2004.11.28 but it spans in 2 cds and it seems its better in terms of quality.
@ Mike : Best wishes of course and…i was just wondering m8, since u guys post internals (which in my opinion u shouldn’t) why don’t u plz check what’s been rlsd b4? cheerz :-)

@27 on the tideland comment: I’m sorry m8 ,8mm is an ok movie and rating so low is surely not very justifiable, but Terry Gilliam’s Tideland is a small gem of cinematography .U prolly can’t grasp whats it about, so leave the comments for those who can really comment plz. Ignorance is bliss they say… U ‘ll prolly say the same bout “Brazil” and “Fear and loathing in LasVegas” eheheh. Thank God for all the Terry Gilliams in this f*kin world man .And grow up …

    January 3rd, 2008 | 06:22

  45. facehugger
    January 3rd, 2008 | 10:13

    @ tasc (comment 41. and 42):

first of all, “brazil” was also fu**ed up and weird, just like all terry gilliam movies except “12 monkeys” but at least it wasnt boring and so extremely annoying like the “tideland” disaster of a movie.

..and second…reading your very angry and upset looking comment (lol) i assume you are the one who needs to grow up a little, besides that it seems movies like 8mm and horror/thriller movies are really nothing for your kind cause youre getting way too upset too easily (lol) better stick to weird movies about drug addicted parents and their fu**ed up children who run around in a world full of weird people talking senseless s*it. (ok i must agree, it was a very cool idea to take a train and make it the big bad monster of the movie which gets killed [blown up] by some guy who was just too fu**ed up to realize its just a train.) lol sarcasm is bliss ;-)

i am sorry that you feel offended by my comment about tideland, but you see….its just so true, that movie is plain dumb, most of all too boring and worst of all it has not even a message at all. i wonder what you like so much about that movie and why youre so upset over my comment towards it, could it has to do with your parents or your childhood in general? (lol)

  46. King Mustard
    January 3rd, 2008 | 10:21

Why do people request 2 CDs? It’s more convenient releasing it on one CD (quality is fine, no need to swap discs, quicker to download etc.) and putting both files together would be 1400 MB which is too big for a CD-R and would put a DVD-R to waste.

  47. facehugger
    January 3rd, 2008 | 10:22

…oh and i forgot…..that dumb kid in tideland with all its useless babbling and mental-breakdowns, her yelling and her friggin constant puppet-heads-conversations, all this was EXTREMELY annoying. so this movie was not only dumb, useless and stupid but annoying as well. the only reason i watched this mess until the end was coz i thought “wait i am sure there will be one hell of a great ending which makes up for all this useless annoying bulls*t!”

  48. Brierley
    January 3rd, 2008 | 11:35

    Fantastic!

A movie that has been on free to air 4 times, is less than $1 at videoezy & you want us to waste data downloading it.

Comon you guys are moles for the MPAA right

  49. tasc
    January 3rd, 2008 | 11:42

@ facehugger : eheheh - u either a 20yo or u plainly accuse what u don’t understand m8… I’m surprised u even know Brazil. It’s obvious u have no cinema or academic education and also can’t “see an inch behind yer finger” when it comes to understanding the deeper meanings inside a movie’s script, so plz stop criticizing movies beyond your IQ. Gilliam brought-and still does-revolution to cinema and any1 who denies this is simply an ignorant mor0n. I’m sorry m8 but u watching Tideland is prolly like Borat watching StarWars, lol. Sh*t man,at first i wondered if u know wtf a metaphor is. Then ,i thought i’d just give a lecture of how Gilliam uses photography in his own way and how he has all these dreamy weird stills within his movie. How he directs his way through anarchy and still maintain a plot(for those who Can think that is) etc etc.Its a movie but its almost theater for f8cks sake, but then i thought u prolly haven’t been in a theatrical performance ever…And of course i’m not pis*ed anymore as it seems u r not worth the argument. U r just 1 more “zombiemovie” kid. Be well and just wonder m8, who’s the dumb kid with useless babblin’.Cheerz and have a nice & brainless 2008.
Ps:I’m 42 and my dad was a movie camera man in the 60s and 70s.I grew up in movie theaters and i really dont mind if u or any1 else don’t like Gilliam (definitely there’s more like u ,’coz the world is full of “bullies” making “Bushlike” declarations of whats good or bad when they don’t know their left from right). This “Bush” attitude really gets to me. U really don’t differ much from the #1 comment guy who actually says nothing at all and cannot give one justifiable reason why this movie is bad(or not)in his/her opinion.

  50. tasc
    January 3rd, 2008 | 11:51

@facehugger: Just a quickie …Come to think of it ,Gilliam would be really flattered, guys like u don’t like his movies m8. I would…

calm down tasc or you end up crawling around on the floor like a worm, besides that you can write another dozens of huge articles like your last one but it still does not change the world´s opinion about tideland.

it is, was and will always be a useless, pointless, dumb and very annoying disaster of a movie.

and speaking of your “all-rambo-fans-are dumb”-statement:

if i want to be entertained i watch films like rambo, if i want to be bored and annoyed then i watch movies like “tideland” now i really cant see no point in being annoyed and bored by intention so this movie is a waste, plain simple.

facehugger you should notice, that no one cares your opninon so back off. Even if you wrote down hundret times that “dumb”,”annoying” movie these people will still like those movies. You are the most childest human I have seen in this forum yet.

  53. facehugger
    January 3rd, 2008 | 13:40

JohnK there are already two people who care, its you and tasc (in case you arent one and the same person). you obviously care enough because you are reacting over it, if you wouldnt care you just wouldnt react and just go on.

This is MY opinion about tideland and i just wanted to let it out, if you and tasc feel insecure and cant sleep over it then its your problem, its really just that easy so forget about me and my opinion and go on and enjoy your day without thinking about me. ;-)

    January 3rd, 2008 | 13:55

    this thread is about 8mm.
And the film wasn’t as good as previous ones of the director, but is still VERY shattering and disturbing, if this is your first film in deep dark secretive “snuff”-filming, it may get you in the wrong mood, but otherwise the questions it asks are pretty relevant.
    “Why did he do it?
    -Because he COULD!”
this is the kind of justification that is not getting a lot of good results for the human species…

  55. facehugger
    January 3rd, 2008 | 14:12

“because he COULD!” wasnt really a justification it was rather an explanation that someone who can have EVERYTHING, sooner or later is on the look for things he cannot have that easily.

if you can have all the cars and all the women…..wouldnt it be boring sooner or later and whats following next in order to feel satisifed.

@41/42: i personally love brazil, fear&loathing and gilliam’s work with monty pythons ofc but still think tideland was a load of rubbish. and then again i’m not a big fan of rambo and vandamme. can you believe that’s possible?

@post: thanks for this release. schumacher is pretty much 1 hit-5 misses director and number 23 was probably the worst film i’ve seen in the last few years, but i remember this one as being ok.

For posting my opinion about “tideland” ? All i did was making a comment about some major movie-sites and their ratings, using tideland as an example, then all of the sudden two sorry wet towels in here go all nuts over me because they cant handle it.

nothing wrong with my behaviour, you just cant handle it which shows that youre still bringing me and the whole case up in here.

to remind you again: its about “8MM” in here!!!!

ps: no..not your penis, we talk about the movie with nicolas cage!

@borat.errr, sorry i ment @ facehugger : U only prove what u claim not to be ehehe:
1.I never said 8mm is a bad movie.I actually kinda like it thats why i posted here in the first place. I never said tideland is an excellent movie. Its just a small gem, a gem noneheless.U r constantly assuming.I commented on tideland’s photography and Gilliam’s natural gift of working the cam and script with anarchy yet theres always some kind of symmetry. But surely these are foreign language to u,right?
2.I never said all rambo fans are dumb. ”u stick with your rambos” means dumbas*es like rambo and not the other way around bcoz i may like rambo as well . Doesnt make me a dumbas*. But if u r a no-brainer all u can grasp is rambo .Get it?
    3. Its funny to admit u want to be entertained when watching a movie. In other words admitting u cannot understand anything more than what entertains u. Pity i got newz 4 u, cinema is firstly and mainly art and secondly entertainment if at all.
    4. Do any of your links count against imdb ? pfff… Funny u put a lol. U have 2 reviews by 2 ppl.The google is a link for the others. Imdb has Tideland at 6.6 at over 5.800 votes . The average majority of 66% of the voters puts u right there in the cage where u belong with your banana in the hand.:-)
5.Terry Gilliam : 1986 - Brazil - Oscar nomination for Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen. 1992 -The Fisher King-Saturn nomination for Best Director.1995 -Twelve Monkeys - Saturn nomination for Best Director.Theres a ton more award nominations and a Bafta award won and a Lafca won ,many more won too . All @ http://imdb.com/name/nm0000416/awards.
6.now u want something to pis* u really good?
    Tideland 2005:
2007(!)Saturn award nomination for Best Performance by a Younger Actor ( u said:that annoying kid with her CONSTANT annoying babbling )
2007(!) Genie Awards nominations for :Best Achievement in Art Direction/Production Design,Best Achievement in Cinematography,Best Achievement in Costume Design,Best Achievement in Editing,Best Achievement in Overall Sound,Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role
2005: Won the Fipreski prize in Spanish well acclaimed SanSebastian film fest and nominated for Golden Seashell.

@ admins & crew: I ‘m sorry to occupy all this space with me posts. I don’t do this often.I have to make clear ,i have np with facehugger as a person and i do not think he should be banned just bcoz some of us think he’s a mor0n when it comes to his movie/art taste in general. (If this was true many guys of your crew should be long gone coz i ve noticed lots of complains bout them too.)I just dont like it when mor0ns try to play it smart thinking they can come anywhere and name any1 whatever they feel like and get away with it with no reasoning just bcoz all this is e-communication.

…yes yes tasc we got it we got it….

………….you not only feel owned you actually are owned.

so before you really have sleepless nights over this or suffer a mental breakdown or even worse, i do you a favor:

tideland is a wonderful movie, the acting is superb and the director did a real amazing job to bring the message of what happens if you take too much drugs and get kids too. the sets of this movie are downright wonderful, the story is really getting to you from your toes over your spine till it shakes your brain with all the twisted but very logical and intelligent used story-twists! i recommend everyone to watch this masterpiece of modern movie-making!!

    goodnight!
