4 Months 3 Weeks And 2 Days 2007 LiMiTED DVDRip XviD-NEPTUNE

A month ago, we informed you about the DVDRip release of this movie, by a group called “RHD”. Someone made a little boo-boo because that wasn’t an actual scene release despite the very good quality of it. No harm done, if you haven’t seen it yet then now’s your chance to grab this scene release by group NEPTUNE. Click here to view the previous post and read what was said about it.

Synopsis: Otilia and Gabita share the same room in a student dormitory. They are colleagues at the University in this small town in Romania, during the last years of communism. Otilia rents a room in a cheap hotel. In the afternoon, they are going to meet a certain Mr. Bebe. Gabita is pregnant, abortion is illegal and neither of them have passed through something like this before. 4 months, 3 weeks & 2 days belongs to a larger project called: Tales from the Golden Age – a subjective history of communism in Romania told through its urban legends. The project’s aim is to talk about that period with no direct reference to communism but only through different stories focused on personal options in a time of misfortunes that people had to live like normal times.

Let me clear some stuff up!

    NFO:

    Ripper: JAwS
    Rls.Date: January 20, 2008
    Source: CAM / XVID / AVI / NTSC(Jek)
    Genre: Action / Sci-Fi / Thriller
Format: XviD / AVI / RAR
    Audio: English(MP3 192kb/s 48000Hz)
    Subtitle: None
    Menu: None
    Resolution: 560×302

So the jaws cam is just a rerip of the crappy (jek) source……and !!!! its has terrible audio, should wait for a telesync. This explain the bad res, and everything else bad, the white balance inside the video is also bad, but when i watched it the video even with all these problems isn’t terrible, its “ok”, not good ok.

for those who don’t know white balance is noise created by the lighting, or iso settings on you camera :)

First of all, this movie is ENTIRELY in Romanian. No English dialog whatsoever (which should be kinda obvious, since it’s about a moment in history when, due to totalitarian reasons, English speaking was scarce to say the least :) ;) :) ).
Second, there are En subs on most major subs sites, and most of them are pretty accurate, in as much as one takes into account language specificities.
Third, this is a GREAT movie that should be watched by a lot of people, esp those who still harbor leftist fantasies…
Fourth: sadly, this movie was not selected on the “short list” for the foreign language Oscars. Guess it was too strong for the older, more mainstream oriented members of the Academy.
Anyways, watch it and judge for yourself!

@ norm, well it’s about abortion and banality in a Stalinist state. Romania probably had the worst version of Stalinism in Europe apart from Albania. But actually, it’s not the propaganda, although that is obvious in most modern Eastern European films about this period, it’s just a really dull movie.
I know all the pompous fools that try to suggest they like Peter Greenaway movies gush over it, along with Romanian ‘patriots’ gloating about it, but it’s a movie that only really appeals to the sense of superiority that people have in the West about Eastern Europe. Most people that ‘like’ this film, do it like an outsider looking in at some weird specimen, not because the movie itself is that great.

All the Romanians I know that have watched it, including my wife, mention that although it is an accurate portrayal, it has little relevance or interest for them, and that is where I can see why people from outside Eastern Europe, as opposed to those here tend to find this movie more fascinating than it is. I mean if it was set in a small town in the USA, would it get any major recognition outside obsure festivals?

  44. russellnash
    January 21st, 2008 | 23:38

@36: NO WAY! It’s 4 sure not “right-wing propaganda”, esp if u consider its take on abortion. THe leftist utopias i was talking about were the marxist ones and the totalitarianism that naturally follows them. However, this movie is NOT AT ALL explicitly political, no direct references to state, communist party, etc. Just watch the movie, don;t believe the hype and make your own opinion.

And yeah, the only banality in this movie is the “banality of evil”. But, of course, you gotta have at least half a brain to understand that! And BTW, in order not to leave people confused, there is not Peter Greenaway connection whatsoever… It’s so silly to have people dropping names of people they know nothing about in order to bash things they don;t get…
And to make things even more clear: one enjoys a movie not cause of where the action is taking place – that only a half-witted provincial with a huge chip on his/her shoulder would say… One watches a movie for its meaning, the dramatic or comic effect, the quality of actors, direction, etc.
Finally, the “obscure festival” that celebrated this movie with its highest honors was Cannes – not that a Golden Globe nomination is to be overlooked… :) :) :)

Hi, so how do I burn the movie and .sub and .idx to dvd. I have done with .avi and .str and it worked great but they needed to be the same name. Will the divx player recognize the .sub and .idx files? I tried it with windows media player and it worked but just wondering if i need to convert the .sub and .idx to .str?
