Let’s not forget that the French (under General Lafayette) were instrumental in helping the American colonies free themselves from British rule and thus form the original USA, and that the Statue of Liberty was a gift to the United States from the people of France. And if you go to the Normandy beaches you will see that the French have never forgotten the 2000 American lives lost at Omaha Beach etc. (Canadians at Juno Beach, it should also be remembered).They may have smelly cheese, we have smelly popcorn. At least they don’t put their cheese on sale in the middle of shopping mall walkways.
