32nd America s Cup The Game SFCloneDVD-iTWINS

An another slow Saturday with no new films is here, and the only release which could raise some attention may be the new SFCloneDVD from iTWins: 32nd America’s Cup: The Game (also known as Virtual Skipper 5). This is a very special title - it focuses on sailing. Brought to us by Nadeo, developer well-known mostly for popular Trackmania, this game spreads over one full DVD, so you may have some difficulties getting it on your drives. But amazing graphic details will be your reward after launching this…

32nd America’s Cup - The Game throws you in at the deep end of this supreme challenge in Spain, off the coast of Valencia, where the city is faithfully reproduced with Port America’s Cup, the home of the 12 teams vying to win international sport’s oldest prizes. Take the helm of one of the 11 official challengers and win the Louis Vuitton Cup, where you will be up against all the boats in the competition. Victory will give you the chance to take part in the 32nd America’s Cup competition, and to challenge Alinghi, the famous Swiss team and defender of the America’s Cup.

While the 32nd America’s Cup content is the spectacular new highlight in this latest edition of Virtual Skipper, the other classes of boat have not been forgotten! Players can therefore skipper four types of boat, each behaving totally differently, on an ultra-realistic sea, which has been modeled and animated to perfection. In addition to the water courses at Valencia, Trapani, Marseille and Malmö-Sk?ne, all venues visited by the 32nd America’s Cup, the game includes 10 other famous competitive sailing locations.

Game features:

  • 3D regatta simulation; the ultimate in sailing in computer games
  • A vast single player game, featuring an America’s Cup campaign as the highlight of the game
  • Skipper the 12 official boats of the America’s Cup, the Trimaran Open 60, the Offshore Racer and the Melges 24 in single-player or multiplayer games.
  • Navigate the 14 legendary ocean water courses, including Valencia, Marseille, Trapani and Malmö, official sites of the America’s Cup. Discover the prime locations for competitive sailing such as San Francisco, Sydney, Porto Cervo, Auckland, Vancouver, the Isle of Wight, Quiberon and Qingdao. We have the exotic in store for you with the Bay of Rio and the mouth of Vesuvius.

Your internet service provider should supply you with access to a server that you can use to browse newsgroups. This is usually included in your broadband package (but not necessarily made clear to you). Contact them or check their website. For example: http://www.virgin.net/helpme/newsgroups/general/2.html

Harry, the usenet (newsgroups) are based upon server downloads rather then downloads from seeds. Therefor the speeds usually lies higher and acts more constant.

If you want to use the binary (data part) newsgroups for file sharing and downloads then indeed GrabIt is one of the best programs to start with (shemes.com). Configuring it, isnt actually that hard. Every Internet Service Provider (ISP) has its own newsgroup server which you need to log on to (A lot of them listed at usenettools.net/ISP.htm), usually you just leave the name and password empty and you just define your ISP at the profile and hostname. For instant if you live in Canada, and your internet is provided by Vianet, then you only fill in Profile name: “Vianet” and Hostname: “news.vianet.ca”

Now you will need a .nzb file. These kind of files are kinda similar to a .torrent file, containing mere info, not the actual download youre after. So… where do you get those .nzb files from? There are lots of index sites, a good (dutch) one is ftn2day.nl, search sites are newzleech.com and binsearch.net , ofcourse you can also use the genius program Torrent Harvester and search on the “Usenet”. If you associated the .nzb files with GrabIt it should autoload when opening it.

Note! The usenet (newsgroups) has a lot of advantages compared to torrenting though there is one big con… The servers only host files for a predetermined period of time called “rentention time” (the time it will hold a whole post). This may differ from file to file, from group to group. If you like this method of downloading, think of subscribing to a paid server for longer rentention and faster speeds. The major benefit from the usenet is that you only need 1 seed (its the webserver) and you do not need to seed afterwards.

For more help I would like to refer you to binaries4all.com a real big sport in the world of usenet. Good luck trying ;)

It looks good and it could be fun. I’m gonna try it!
Wish it was seeded better on NewTorrents :(

think he means getting it burned onto a single dvd disk, from what I can tell from that comment the iso is larger than single layer dvd’s allows, but that shouldn’t be any problems for those who use cd/dvd emulators ^^

seriusly though.. must be one hell of a slow weekend when the only release so far is a boat-race game ;)

  9. April 28th, 2007 | 21:39

Er… Isn’t it pretty obvious that he’s referring to the sheer size of the download itself? 4 gigs isn’t that easy for people with slower connections.

    @Wickido

Thankyou very much for the help but i got as far as getting the nzb files but the problem im having is the server thing.. I just get errors saying cant connect and stuff like that… do you know any server that would work for me for free?

@Harry: as I said before, that depends on who provides your internet. For example, Bob (see comment number 4) can access newsgroups using “news.ukonline.co.uk”, by creating that server profile in grabit, because his service provider is ukonline.
As wickido helpfully pointed out earlier, a lot of them are listed at http://www.usenettools.net/ISP.htm.

@Harry; Each internet service provider has its own server, like henryv and I say, you will need to get your isp-server details. Once you get passed that and you have a .nzb file you should be ready to download. However, if you already completed these steps succesfully but the item wont download, that will most likely be caused by the fact your isp-server has a short retention time (as mentioned earlier). This would then lead to errors like “cannot connect” or “file is not on the server”. If this is the case then it is your account which is not working but the server just has a retention time, which is not suitable for your needs (e.g. Server A hosts postings for 30 days, Server B holds on to them for 21 days).

To solve this matter, first find out if you have indeed filled in the right account info. Usually filling in the profile and hostname would do. Then you should subscribe to a group (e.g. alt.binaries.movies). When done, rightclick the subscribed group listed underneath the server and perform a “full update” (which updates the articles within the group), if something is starting to happen and the Batch, this means your server is set properly.

So, this would be the prove of an outdated .nzb file. You should try to search again for another .nzb or you should consider going to a paid newsgroup which would suit your needs (good stable speeds, long retention)

I hope that would be clearing most up. ;)

Got the game going but i wish the sails when the are retracted would appear less paper pixel looking more fluent i mean. The game didnt pick up my 8800 gts i put it at high frame rate anyway.I wish you could hire people from the net games to be part of your boat crew that would be a great feature, as i lot of team nz went to work for other countries, havent played online yet.The water looks dark most of the team maybe lighting like they use in cyris game would help.Im enjoying it a lot can wait to play online.

it works, but don’t let the game use the internet connection or you won’t be able to play. multiplayer doesn’t work with this serial (you’ll need an original one).

    Blackslaine:

When you open up the game and you have an option of clicking play game, update, settings and exit….click setting and then advanced settings. Once there go to network and check local addressing and also uncheck the 2 check boxes at the bottem…believe one is sending info to the game creator and the other is something about getting online. That should do it for you.

Are you using the no cd crack??? my no cd crack is bad. Would appreciate it if someone could send me a new crack.
