Based on the Elmore Leonard story, 3:10 TO YUMA is a riveting remake of the 1957 classic Western. It’s the story of Dan Evans (Christian Bale), a down-and-out rancher who lost his leg in the Civil War. With a wife and two sons, he is struggling to put food on the table, and unable to make payments on his land. When the notorious gunman Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) is apprehended nearby, a few local men are needed to escort him to the town of Contention so he can be put on the 3:10 train to Yuma Prison.
Few will volunteer for the job, as they know that Wade’s ruthless gang will follow them, but Evans sees an opportunity to make some fast cash, and offers to go in exchange for $200. The small team of men set off, and are later joined by Evans’s young son William (Logan Lerman), who has run away from home to join them. What follows is a race against time, as the group tries to get to Yuma without the clever and dangerous Wade outsmarting them.

Yo know i just don’t understand. Why do these have to fit on a DVD5 disc? Why would you want to burn it? to watch it on your computer? how about just reading the movie from your hard disk then? Because there sure as hell arent any x264 compatible standalone DVD-players, so why bother to make it fit on a disc?

I guess its because you can archive them to a disc as it surprising how quickly a hard drive will fill up when you collect 720p films

Most of the people using Media PC to watch HD……why its so hard to understand? They are x264 compatible DVDplayer available in asia…as Noname-products but I am using my Home PC with a good ATI Grafphics Card…connected to my Beamer…..fun like hell.
x264 is the future…and 4-8Gb sizes are okay. Seems that you are an Nweb and newb askeing themselves such questsions.

why are these labeled 720p when the nfo states the resolution is 1280×528? is the because the horizontal resolution is the same as 720p’s ?
This was a great movie. I really like how they use alot of lines from the original. I thought that Russel Crow would make a horrible cowboy, but i was wrong wrong wrong.

This movie is very over rated, predictable, and boring. I am quite surprised at the high reviews. The acting by Bail and Crowe are of course great, but the cartoon level gunslinging gets old really quick.
It definitely isn’t The Unforgiven by any means.

anything with a horizontal resolution of 1280 is considered 720p, when reencoding to x264 ppl remove the black bars to save space,
when this movie is aired on TV they are 1280×720 but have black bars at the top and bottom.
Can you burn this to a DVD5 disc and watch it on a PS3?? Or is there something special I have to do to the PS3 for it to work? We just bought one, so I am new to this aspect, but would appreciate any input.

Just found this site, I’m surprised how fast the releases are reported. I just got my HTPC sorted and started watching everything I can in HD. There’s no way I can go back to SD now
first off, the res of this is 1280 so it will fit on a 19″ tft res of 1280×1024, or the common laptop res of 1280×720. this movie is 528 vertical pixels, so there will be black bars on top and bottom even with the widescreen laptop.
720 - 528 = 192 total black bars divided beetween the top and bottom of a standard laptop screen. which is the same resolution of the VGA input of a standard “HD-ready” lcd tv. 1366 is an obscure res, so 1280 makes sense, and avoids any resizing to fit on a standard screen.
btw, LOVE these dvd5 rips, please keep posting them rlslog!
@6, you my enemy are a newb. Whoever watches on their PC is a damn new! I don’t care if you have the bestest graphics card, or the super duper audio card, or the biggest and baddest monitor on your table.
Movies were designed to play on tv not your cheap monitor. All these .mkv aren’t true HDrips anyway since you burn the quality on a non-hd medium.
Get a Blue-Ray or HD disc then compare these .mkv DVD5 poop. X264 is poop.

You are totally wrong the aspect ratio of this movie is 2.35:1
and thats why the movie is 528 and not 720 that only the movies with 16:9 in aspect ratio have

Ok this is a noob question, but i just signed up for rapidshare and when i try to download the links it goes extremely fast but i try to extract the file and there is nothing there. Any solutions would be great.

@ 29 same here got me self a 7m dvi to hdmi and connected pc to hdtv and would never go back to owt else, although the cable was not cheap @ £50 BUT COD4 & Crysis on a 42” screen IS the future ! next gen consoles BAH !

I still dont get why 1280×528 is 720p? And do all movies have black bars but your widescreen TV does not show them? Or maybe the DVD player does that?

Thanks Matty, got it working - I had just renamed the rars as downloaded to the correct nomenclature for the series, I realised my mistake when the I noticed the RARS were of different sizes so I renamed them back to .rar and extracted them using the pw.

Someone ask about getting it to work on the PS3. The easiest way is to d/l a program called mkv2vob, this will convert it to vob. I had problems playing on my pc for some reason, but worked great on ps3 with ac3 5.1.
For a quick test try it on the sample file.
These hd-releases are very nice for all of the people outside belgium… in belgium we have limits so we can only download 12 GB a month(!)… That how they deal with piracy in belgium i guess…

Im sorry for the newb question, but i downloaded this and I have one MSinfo document file, and a bunch of R86 files i can’t open. Do i need to download all of those rapidshare.rar files?

you need to d/l however many parts are in the file if there are 86 links, you need to d/l all 86 parts, then open the first file with WinRAR and extract the movie file.
