300 DVDSCR XviD-NEPTUNE

I don’t think I have to say anything about this release and neither for the group who brought it out, so I’ll keep it short. The movie has not even reached the half of the planet and a decent quality release is here. I still suggest everybody to go and see the movie in the cinema and watch this release as 2nd, I watched the movie once in the cinema and I might go twice. For people who think it’s not worth it, enjoy this one!

“300″ is an adaptation of Frank Miller’s epic graphic novel. Using hyper-real renderings similar to Miller’s own graphically stylized illustrations, the film tells the true story of 300 elite Spartan warriors led by their fearless king Leonidas (Butler), who thwart the charge of Xerxes and his massive Persian army at the battle of Thermopylae. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian foe, leading to the origins of democracy.

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, “300″ is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller’s (Sin City) acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.

Go the the fucking movie in the cinema ya fuckers!!!
I would understand for the people who don’t have this in the local cinema but not other fuckers who don’t want to spend a few bucks to support the movie and its creator.

I have the sound issues as well. Does everyone have the digital distortion throughout the film? It’s like a very high pitch short stuttering every couple of minutes. Is there maybe a codec I’m missing? Any idea if the 3.89GB copy has this issue as well, or where to find it (newsbin had zero hits)? The video is nice but the sound is ruining it for me.

YauSoang, if you’ve read most of the comments you’d see that it seems this news server is available only to europeans.

  14. March 22nd, 2007 | 00:38

i cant get the newgroup to work either, and iam in northamerica, could be a uk only thing

  15. March 22nd, 2007 | 00:40

thanks man, do u know of any other good place that has great speeds, there are some places that are being tracked right now by the RIAA and MPAA. Be careful

    @ YauSoang
Perhaps your ISP has enabled that perticular port. Try see if this the case at their website.
Perhaps your router hasn’t been properly set, or you haven’t got the right set up within your newsreader. Anyways, do some more reading.
    Good luck.

    @ Collin
Nice cup of shut the fuck up. Who told ya I’m not willing to fund a nice movie? Maybe I already went and am sick of the sticky floor there, tired of the mobile phones ringing around me and defenitly tired of these dumb asses besides me who just can’t seem to shut up? (or was that you, bastard!?)

    @ hk47
Yeah, I’m wondering the same thing. Should be a shame for such nice vid. Can anyone confirm?

    @ Brulaap
Goeie tip, maar nu wordt deze sectie gelijk vol gespammed met vragen over nieuwsgroepen :P

    @ YauSoang
I was too late with the answer. Sorry. There are a lot of payservers out there. Some even include ‘pay-per-download’. Costs a few bucks, but makes a whole lot of difference. I won’t spam a link to a payserver though. I’m sure you’ll work that out.

  18. March 22nd, 2007 | 00:48

k, thanks for all your help. Oh, and do you happen to knwo how i cna change my settings for the newsreader to download it. Thanks

  19. March 22nd, 2007 | 00:50

i could get grabit to search for usenet files, but when i tryed my second search they wanted money, so grabit can ESAD

  20. je moeder
    March 22nd, 2007 | 00:51

As stated, you should get an other newsgroup provider. That will sent you login+pw. Put that in newsreader instead of that betanews. Normally the provider will offer an easy FAQ.

  21. March 22nd, 2007 | 00:51

So basically you cant download using grab it. Right???/

  22. je moeder
    March 22nd, 2007 | 00:52

No seacrh with NZB sites, like yabse.com or binseacrh.com. Paying is not necessary. Do not pay for search within grabit.

  23. je moeder
    March 22nd, 2007 | 00:55

    Sure you’ve read the howto’s?
Grabit is ur download prog. You’ll have to make a NZB with given sites, so you don’t have to update the headres manually. A NZB is a sort of index file which will active grabit to download whatever you have listed at NZB sites.

  24. March 22nd, 2007 | 00:55

okay, if i dont pay, then how do i get the download to work, it says unable to connect to news 119 for me.

I downloaded it and the quality is great. I ran into one problem though - after I burned it with Nero and tried playing it on my TV, the audio crackles a ton. It plays perfectly fine on my computer, any ideas how to fix this?

  30. je moeder
    March 22nd, 2007 | 01:34

    @ Vince
“…the audio crackles a ton.” Strange problem you’ve got there.
I only saw the sample sofar, but getting info there’s static throughout the movie. Seems to me you should have the same problem on TV/PC.

    @ YauSoang
If you live outside Europe, you can’t use that newsprovider. Probably will cause the error.

  34. je moeder

Than it’s probably just a configuration error. Nevermind my earlier comment. Things I wonder… set up of router, perhaps some active AV of software firewall. Could be numbers of things.

    @ Vince

After I found out the DVD was crackling on my computer as well, I reopened Nero added the files again. I went far enough to watch the preview and the crackling appeared there as well. I tried it with the 3 different audio formats (AC3 5.1, 2.0, and LPCM and all of them did it).

I’m out of ideas now =p

Thanks for trying to help YauSoang.

Thanks for any other help as well.

    300 Spartans with pecs on a wall…

If you like this movie, you are a retard. 300 is about as violent as Apocalypto and twice as stupid.300 was as pathetically puerile as I had expected. Keeping in mind Slate’s Mickey Kaus’ Hitler Rule — never compare anything to Hitler — it isn’t a stretch to imagine Adolf’s boys at a 300 screening, heil-fiving each other throughout 300 and then lining up to see it again. The stylized action, set to crunching guitar riffs, feels suffocating in its artificiality. Dialogue, taken mostly verbatim from Miller, comes cribbed from T-shirt slogans (real men wear crimson!) and Bruce Springsteen songs (no retreat, no surrender!).After a while, all of the excess, however glorious, just gets, well, excessive … By the end, I didn’t know which I wanted more: a cigarette, or, like, a whole bottle of aspirin.Months before its release 300 already was revered by those who consider it a magnificent achievement for a live-action film to look exactly like a video game. Forgive me, but I don’t see that as a reason to celebrate. There’s a stale, synthetic airlessness about the movie. Imagine a large cast trapped in a series of spectacular screensavers. It could be ancient Greece. It could be somebody’s hard drive. It also pits millions of fans of brainless violence against a gallant band, or so I choose to think of us, who still expect movies to contain detectable traces of humanity.Part of the fascination of the Thermopylae story is that it really happened, and it helped define real heroism. There’s nothing remotely like reality to be had in this film.

I hate this film, but I love the comic book.

The copy is ok, and the rip is well done.

    Alvast zeer vriendelijk bedankt.

From which 2 files do I need to make a nzb file of to use in the newsgroupreader, I presume that they moved along since the beginning and I am eager to know, thanks for letting me undertake my first steps in the NEWSGROUP WORLD.

    Thanks, take care.

  45. March 22nd, 2007 | 02:33

    March 22nd, 2007 | 02:34

    @pelvis
You want numbers 13 and 14.

This looks more like a real well done CAM of some sort, as the center of the picture is much brighter than the rest of it, and the audio sounds like an FM feed from a hearing impaired line. There’s no way it’s an actual DVD copy.

  48. brulaap
    March 22nd, 2007 | 02:39

Have a look at the amout of .rar files for this release it should be 49 per cd. also look at dvdscr1 & 2 for the nr of disk’s. as stated above nr 13 & 4 are the ones you want to get right now but will probably change soon. hope this helps.

just to make sure here is the link again:

I’m down with you on that. Heard the aduio cuts out at the end credits. Now, which dvdscr. does that!? Still have the opinion it’s a darn fine TC with direcat audio, hence the audio cutting out for obvious stealth reasons.

Thnx for the review/ opnion. All we need now is a movie which defines hedonism. I would like that. ;)

    @Xeil

Ok that seems fine, but I need you to be sure about this, I don’t know how that site get’s updated, but brulaap posted his reply 9 hours ago, and then they were at places 6 and 8, and because 13 and 14 follow each other and 6 and 8 not(don’t mean to be sarcastic here, my mother tongue isn’t english and I don’t know if yours is, so just want to get the thing clear.)
AND 13 and 14 couldn’t be in place 6 and 8, 9 hours ago because they are just up there for 8 and the ones before that, just 3 hours.

Just wondering what you think, and the rest of course? Maybe my explanation sucks, but just chech out.

Play somewhat with binaries. You’ll be surprised how much (crap) it has to offer.
Regarding the fee newsserver I can’t comment. I have no reason to assume it only gives you limited access. Check the policy at their website.
One thing is important with newsservers though: retention. Don’t think free servers give you a great deal of retention.

  61. brulaap
    March 22nd, 2007 | 03:11

As far as i get it newsgroups have a certain retention time. that means they save posts for a specific amount of time. depending on the server it could be anything from a day to a couple of months.

@pelvis, dat is wel zo sociaal van je.

    @Gav
There are some cracks and hacks for Rapidshare if you search around, or you can pay I think six bucks for a months access. Completely worth it. Yes, use HJ Split.

    @JJ
I believe it has been determined that this is a very nice TS, not DVDRip, so that crackle is there to stay. Although when I loaded it up with VLC player and changed the audio stream to mono, it sounded much better.

Guys, those download speeds you’re getting from Usenet aren’t what you think they are. You’re readings are registered in kiloBITS per second, not kiloBYTES. To find out just how fast it’s really going, divide your kilobit speed by 8 to get your kilobyte speed.

    Great movie!

Feels a bit like a rockvideo in some parts but overall very
cool. If you guys played the prince of persia pc games you will feel a very reminiscent feeling to it.

The quality is also nice for this dvdscr release!

    10/10

Great Movie! Video quality is TOP, but audio is a little funny…the base tones causes statics, but watched it on my TV and is great.

Efter watching, makes me think it is too bad men today are too pussy to die for what they believe like Leonidas and the 300 Spartans soldiers did.

This sound is so fucking horrible, static will drive you crazy… they shouldn’t have even released it like that.

    Most Usenet servers are FAST. I downloaded 300 at 750KB/s. Yes, that’s 750 Kilobytes - or 5.6Mbit/s!

Other people probably have a faster connection me.

Im normally not picky, but that sound is so annoying. Every single action scene or bass is like someone ripping your ears out. Maybe it is my icemat headset.. because people would agree with me if they heard what im hearing.. but yes the video is pretty nice.

    Hey guys,
Saw this movie twice in the theater and loved it. This screene is great. The picture quality is amazing for a DVDSR. I am having problem with the audio, though. I’m using WMP and the audio is out of sync. I’m guessing this is a problem with my computer. What could be the problem? Codec? Or should I go with VLC player? Any help would be appreciated

Thanks Brulaap for the Newsgroup help. I have never maxed out my connection for a pirate download like that before. I got a consistent 237 kilobytes per second all the way through which is the max for my connection. With torrents its always fluctuating of course, but with this it was abolutely perfect. The thing would\’ve downloaded much quicker if it were\’nt for my ISP capping my damn connection from 6pm to 10pm. (It went from 237 kilobytes a second down to 50 kilobytes a second)

Thanks for the tip with the free of charge newsgroup, I now know how newsgroups work and I plan to use them again in the future.

I\’m just imagining how fast downloads would be If I were to change to one of the fastest ISP\’s here in the UK who do 24mbit a second, compared to the 2mbit I\’m on. I\’m sure I will finally be in dreamland then!

    Newsgroups FTW!

I’ve found that sound quality depends a lot on engine/codecs you’re using. I’m using Linux, VLC and Mplayer both have cracking sounds but Xine has quite clear audio (still, not perfect).

    March 22nd, 2007 | 13:47

I’m not getting any cracking sound, just obviously out of sync with the video

  96. March 22nd, 2007 | 13:49

    Thanks also to Brulaap.
Downloaded Grab-it, then went to the binsearch link and poof. Downloaded the movie in about 40 minutes. Usually takes hours when I use torrents.

  97. March 22nd, 2007 | 13:51

I havent started watching yet on my tv but I skimmed through most of the film on my pc with vlc and the audio seems fine to me.

D.L grab, you still need a news server correct? The news server is what is the most important thing is it not?

Is there actual “free” news servers out there? This easynews doesn’t work anymore under that log / pass.

If someone knows a free news server, please let me know :)
