This must be one of the most boring days in the scene history, there haven’t been any interesting releases so far, so I looked up a one day old HD rip of a great horror 28 Weeks Later. A sequel to 28 Days Later freely continues with story about deadly virus spreading in London. This release offers a top notch quality with amazing 11 MB/s bitrate.

The devastating rage virus that annihilated the British Isles mysteriously resurfaces in Goya Award-winning director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s sequel to the Danny Boyle-directed horror hit that terrified audiences worldwide by offering a breathless new take on the familiar zombie mythos. Six months has passed since the rage virus caused British residents to indiscriminately murder and destroy everything in their paths, and now the U.S. military has declared victory in the war against the rapidly spreading infection.     the first 10 minutes were very promising

    BUT

    the rest of the movie was atrocious – and it’s difficult to go wrong with a zombie film with a decent budget

    incredibly unconvincing special FX and totally unscary

    I almost agree with you. There was something different about watching Texas Chainsaw Massacre alone at night. Some horror movies are still good though, like The Descent. If I was to make a list of my top twenty horror however, I would be hard pressed to put in 5 recent movies.

    thx for posting however could you please fix the bitrate of 12MBytes/s ? Actually it is 12Mbits/s or 12Mbps. It’s a big difference I guess that 12MB/s datarate would be movie with highest rate ever – something like 100Mbit bitrate ;)

    some dvdrips are mp3, some are ac3 5.1…. it’s alomost always stated in the .nfo, so just look there.

    @31 You don’t HAVE to get hd movies, but they’re nice though. Just look for DVDrips that say AC3 or AC3 5.1 or something like that. AC3 = 5.1 format for dvdrippers. These DVDrips are usually like 1.37gb…

    @The article:
    1) The release isn’t scene. It’s a P2P release from a private tracker. CtrlHD is not a scene group :P .
    2) The release isn’t from yesterday. It’s from 2007-11-30.

    @31: This has AC3 5.1 audio with a 448kbps bitrate from the R1 DVD. Next time, read the nfo. Generally HD releases have 5.1 audio, except if it’s from a HDTV broadcast with only 2 channel audio and the encoder is too lazy to download and synch a 5.1 track from the DVD.

    @the movie: I thought the sequel was better than the original. Seems like I’m one of the few people who did though.

    @the 5.1 guy:

    rips dont ahve to be in ac3 5.1 to get a surround sound out of it (although its the ideal way). if the audio source isnt a poor line in stereo from the cinema, you can get the surround sound with the pro logic 1 / 2 (or similar features) settings in your surround receiver. works surprisingly well on most movies.

    @ 24 & 25. “I am Legend” was a remake of an older movie w/ a diff name so really 28 weeks later came before but wait then theres Resident Evil..lmao anyways..

    I enjoyed this for a sequel, good pick up. Good intro too, when he’s running on the field its eerie. I was suprised i actually liked it. During the end you can see theres going to probably be a 3rd movie..umm lemme guess “28 months later” ?

    i liked this sequel, especially the beginning was great, and i also dont see what should be wrong with the special effects at the end, i thought they were great. anyone noticed the helicopter scene that was similar to the one in resident evil 3? but this one here came out earlier.

    i also liked i am legend, but the film was losing some of the great atmosphere it created when it began to copy i am robot. they should have copied instead the 28 days/weeks later zombie movement and effects concept, cgi just doesnt work yet.

    Actually I Am Legend isn’t a remake of an earlier movie, it’s the third movie adapation of a 1954 book of the same name. The book was previously adapted as The Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price in 1964 and The Omega Man with Charlton Heston in 1971. I’ve never actually read the book, but from descriptions, it would seem that the Price movie is the most accurate one, except for the ending. Incidentally, you can legally download it from;

    Also, I would have to disagree with most critics, this is an absolutely brilliant piece of art. The music score alone is stunning, if not award worthy by itself. Cinematography and camerawork are amazing. Even the acting is quite good, it really captures the depressing mood after a deserted UK.

    Sure, the kids behaved stupid, but THAT’S WHAT THEY DO in real life, so what’s up with that silly comment everywhere? Grow up, this is a GREAT movie. Just listened to the director’s comments as well, very telling about its quality.

    How can I cut a movie like this into 2 pieces so I can fit them onto 2 4.7Gb dvd discs.

    download and install MKVtoolnix
    then run MKVmerge, load .MKV video file and select Global -> Enable splitting and enter size you wish :) (example 4400 MB) and start muxing
    you should get two .MKV video files
