Cloverfield READNFO 720p Bluray x264-Chakra

A pretty old scene group Chakra (do you remember their SVCDs?) released a Blu-ray rip of great thriller Cloverfield. I associate this movie mostly with shaky cam which caused dizzy feelings to many people, but it was actually quite original, although the trailer looked more promising than final result. Anyway, this release comes with a special mkv2bluray file which enables you to convert the standard mkv file to burnable Bluray disc, which is playable on PS3 (and on XboX360 in the future), so you don’t have to hassle with reencoding the whole movie.

Cloverfield follows five New Yorkers from the perspective of hand held video camera. The movie is exactly the length of a DV Tape and a sub-plot is established by showing bits and pieces of video previously recorded on the tape that is being recorded over. The movie starts as a monster of unknown origin destroys a building. As they go to investigate, parts of the building and the head of the Statue of Liberty come raining down. The movie follows their adventure trying to escape and save a friend, a love interest of the main character.

Sony partners with cable providers on built-in set top box

The electronics maker said Tuesday that it will work with six major cable operators to include digital cable technology in its next-generation television sets. With the new sets, consumers will no longer be required to use a set-top box in order to receive advanced services. Sony has penned an agreement with Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Charter, Cablevision, and Bright House Networks, which collectively provide service to about 82 percent of cable-receiving households. The agreement is essentially a memorandum of understanding on how channel guide and digital program delivery technology will be rolled out to the consumer. The technology used is called tru2way (formerly known as OpenCable or OCAP), which first rolled out at CES in January. At the time, Sony was not listed among the partners, although Panasonic and LG showed off television models based on the technology.

Peripherally, the technology is related to CableCARD, and the company behind tru2way — CableLabs — is behind both. The difference here is that CableCARD is a removable unit for retail devices, whereas tru2way is the middleware that provides for the control of functionality. The technology eliminates the need for an additional converter or receiver box, simplifying the cable installation process and allowing for the use of advanced features such as on-demand, DVR functions, and program guides. Sony’s move could very well solidify tru2way as the standard for non-set top deployments. While CableCARD was intended to do the same thing, it did not garner enough support from the industry to make it viable. Too bad it’s impossible to do something like this for Europe as well…

Fools Gold DVDRip XviD-DiAMOND

What Would Jesus Buy LIMITED DVDRip XviD-SAPHiRE

Incoming Limited movie! Sometimes they are real diamonds sometimes they just suck. Well in this movie, Morgan Spurlock was involved as a producer (SuperSize Me, Where In the World Is Osama Bin Laden?) so it has some potential.

Synopsis: From producer Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) and director Rob VanAlkemade, “What Would Jesus Buy?” examines the commercialization of Christmas in America while following Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Gospel Choir on a cross-country mission to save Christmas from the Shopocalypse (the end of humankind from consumerism, over-consumption and the fires of eternal debt.)

Fools Gold R5 LiNE XViD-mVs

Well remember me guys, the guy that got pwned by mVs? Well I’m back for yet another post here on rlslog, and what do you know, its from mVs ;) . In their nfo they mention that they chose to release this over Sarah Marshall (which I don’t think they have otherwise they would have wanted credit for the rls), and this would be out as a DVDRip this/next week, so I’d wait till then.

Quality: The line audio is on the poor side imo, and the video is a bit dark like most R5s.

Just as Tess has begun to rebuild her life, working aboard a mega-yacht owned by billionaire Nigel Honeycutt (Donald Sutherland), Finn discovers a vital clue to the treasure’s whereabouts. Much to Tess’ consternation, Finn maneuvers himself aboard Nigel’s yacht and, using his roguish charm, convinces the tycoon and his celebutante daughter, Gemma (Alexis Dziena), to join him in the pursuit of the Spanish riches. Even Tess can’t resist the lure of finally uncovering the treasure that had eluded them for so long.
