House S04E13 HDTV XviD-XOR

Something screwed up with our server last night and publishing new posts and posting comments did not work, so that was the reason for the delayed post. The last House episode, Don’t Ever Change was broadcast February fifth and left us with a total of 83 days of waiting for the next episode. Reasoning of the large gap is from the writer’s strike, as this is the first new episode written after the strike had ended. Tonight’s patient is ‘too nice’ leaving Dr. House to wonder if his niceness falls under a symptom. The last episode also revealed to us that Wilson and Amber were dating, which came as a surprise to House. This now creates a gap between Wilson and House, and who gets to spent more time with each other.

No More Mr. Nice Guy: House suspects an emergency room patient has a bigger problem then the E.R. initially diagnosed based on the fact that the patient is too nice. A sceptical House questions the patient’s sunny disposition as the team tries to get to the bottom of his illness, but disagrees with House that niceness is a symptom. Meanwhile, House and Amber are at odds about how much time they each get to spend with Wilson, and Cuddy demands House give his team performance reviews.

Anna Nicole 2007 DVDRip XviD-RESERVED

Anna Nicola Smith is still a name you can see very often in the news headlines, despite her death one year ago. Her unusual life full of personal tragedy and controversy inspired many filmmakers to create various biographical documentaries about her and the latest one called simply “Anna Nicole” was released in a new dvdrip by group RESERVED. This rip comes in a usual 1 CD quality.

Although a specific plot has not been confirmed, the film’s producers have stated that the movie will cover Anna Nicole’s life from age 17 to death, depicting her struggle for stardom, criticism, as well as the death of her son, birth of her daughter, several of her court cases, and death. Willa Ford has stated that the movie will not depict the event in which Smith dressed like a clown and appeared extremely incoherent, which appeared on many websites on the internet.

Google applies PageRank for image search

Google engineers last week presented an interesting paper at the WWW2008 conference in Beijing which proposes to apply its PageRank system of finding relevant Web pages to radically improve the accuracy of image search results using Google. This new technology is being called VisualRank, according to an fascinating story on the subject in the New York Times. The paper, titled “PageRank for Product Image Search,” (PDF) was published by Yushi Jing and Shumeet Baluja of Google. In it they talk about using PageRank to analyze the “visual link structure” that can be created among a group of similar images. This paper proposes to move away from the current model of many image search engine rankings, described as using “the text clues of the pages in which images are embedded to rank images.”

The new model would “identify ‘authority’ nodes on an inferred visual similarity graph and propose an algorithm to analyze the visual link structure that can be created among a group of images.” A numerical weight would be assigned to each image and, according to the paper, ranking would occur based upon “expected user behavior given the visual similarities of the images to be ranked.” The assumption, this blog points out, is that “people are more likely to go from an image to other similar images.” The Google engineers ran this model through some experiments using 2000 of the most popular products queries. They found “significant improvement, in terms of user satisfaction and relevancy, in comparison to the most recent Google Image Search results.”

Def Leppard – Songs From The Sparkle Lounge (2008)

Here’s one new release for all rockers. Def Leppard is a well-known hard rock band and they’re about to release a new album Songs From The Sparkle Lounge today. This is their ninth studio album and it was already released by the scene 3 days ago. This version doesn’t include two bonus tracks from the retail CD.

Def Leppard, Great Britain’s premiere arena rock band, is back with a bang–kicking off 2008 with the release of their 14th studio album and a U.S. arena concert tour scheduled for this spring. Entitled Songs From The Sparkle Lounge (Bludgeon Riffola/Island/UMe), the album contains 11 new songs including the highly-anticipated single “Nine Lives” featuring a groundbreaking collaboration with country music superstar Tim McGraw. Songs From The Sparkle Lounge is Def Leppard’s first album of brand new material since 2002’s X and begins yet another remarkable new chapter in the band’s 30-year recording career.

Recorded last year during month-long stints at lead singer Joe Elliott’s Dublin studio, the album’s title refers to a backstage area called “The Sparkle Lounge” on Def Leppard’s 2006 tour where the band would go to write songs. Tracks from the album have been described by the group as written in the style of Hysteria, with the production of High ‘n’ Dry.
