Microsoft Corp. has released an updated version of Pac-Man, the 1980s arcade game-sensation from Namco Ltd., now part of Namco Bandai Games Inc., for the Xbox 360 game console. Pac-Man’s original creator, Toru Iwatani, designed the revamped “Championship Edition,” which was unveiled at the Pac-Man World Championship in New York on Tuesday. Iwatani, who is now a video game professor at Tokyo Polytechnic University, also crowned the winner of the Microsoft-sponsored competition, Carlos Daniel Borrego from Pachuca, Mexico.

The Pac-Man makeover includes mazes that change shape as the game is played, new soundtracks and high-definition graphics, though the game retains the arcade-inspired look. There are six new timed game modes, including the “Manhattan” mode, inspired by New York streets. Gamers, Blinky and Clyde fans and nostalgia-seekers can buy and download the game from the Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft points, or about $10. Enthusiasts partial to Pac-Man’s red-bowed, lipsticked girlfriend will have to settle for a more traditional-looking version of the popular Ms. Pac-Man sequel, released to the Xbox Live Arcade in January. I love this!

Another new release from CAMERA. Quality is poor. Looks like it’s a good horror from the producers of “The Grudge”.

Sadie (LUCY LIU) is an investigative reporter who has stumbled upon an underground cult that is attracting the young hipsters of Los Angeles. When these kids start disappearing then turning up dead, she wants to understand why. In the midst of her investigation, she herself falls prey to the mastermind behind all the gruesome murders and nothing is the same again.

When Sadie awakes in the dark, pushing her way out into the light, she discovers she’s not alive, but she’s not dead either. As she traipses through the seedy underbelly of downtown Los Angeles, her senses are reeling — she must feed to quench her thirst and blood is the nourishment she needs. How can she kill innocent people to satisfy her craving? Why is she alive when she should be dead?

Detective Rawlins (MICHAEL CHIKLIS) has lost his only daughter to this cult. Distraught over her death, he vows to find her killer and exact his revenge. When Sadie crosses his path, he believes that she is the killer, but soon learns she will lead him to those that did their heinous deeds to his only child. He and Sadie are on the same mission — out to kill the same person — so joining forces makes sense, even if Sadie is technically as dead as his own daughter.

As they go on their hunt, Sadie and Rawlins come to an agreement. Their pact is to kill all members of the cult, in hopes of finding their leader, so that these murders of the innocent will stop.

Since there’s a distinct lack of grown up games at the moment i will have to post about another game for your kids to play. Called Surf’s Up you play as penguins and other animals in surfing competitions and such. This is a tie in game with a movie of the same name which is a computer animated mockumentary on classic surfing films such as Riding Giants. There was a a previous release from CLONECD but it was nuked simply because it didn’t work. This is still a CLONE though so it does require YASU to bypass the protection. I wouldn’t expect a cracked version anytime soon though, but that shouldn’t bother many of you.

I will disrupt Shiny’s (awesomly maintained) games category with this short post – Knights Learn to Fly doesn’t require a lot of attention anyway. It’s a 3D action game in Rayman style, which means in animated graphic interface. The distributor recommends this title for the age of 8-15, so if we have some readers in this limit, they can consider playing it. What’s little sad is even such a stupid release got nuked because of non-working crack from iTWiNS. Luckily for all kids, there was a quick NoCD crack from PWZ, which propered the whole situation…

“Knights – Learn to fly” is a 3D action game based on Polish cult comic book. You control one of the two characters: Kajko (smaller, faster but weaker) and Kokosz (bigger, slower but stronger). Your mission is to find “The Magic School of Fly”, but it won’t be easy. In the game there are a lot of dangerous opponents, traps and other obstacles. The game is dedicated to the children beetwen 6-15 years old.

Group RTB brings us a hard rock album from band Queens of the Stone age called “Era Vulgaris”, this is their 5th album and its due to be released out next week. This should be good quality as its coming from RTB. I think its time for me to check a rock album out and this could be it…hopefully it wud be a good one. Rocker fans enjoy!

Latin for “common era,” Era Vulgaris holds a pair of common threads with the four Queens of the Stone Age records that preceded it. One, it crosses colossal guitar chords with the most volatile of hard rock melodies. And second, it’s as LOUD as loud gets, thanks to Josh Homme, the impatient instigator behind the ever-evolving cast of personalities that make up the band. Detonation comes with track one, as the jagged riffs of “Turning on the Screw” lead the listener into “Sick, Sick, Sick,” where Julian Casablancas spews his vocals beneath a wall of multi-guitar catcalls. Era Vulgaris is the fifth full length studio album from American hard rock band Queens of the Stone Age. The album was completed in early April 2007 and is scheduled to be released on June 12, 2007 in the US, and June 18, 2007 in the UK. On June 6th 2007, Australian Supermarket Chain Big W started selling the album early. The album title Era Vulgaris refers to the Latin term for Common Era.

While 2002’s Songs for the Deaf was said to be inspired by Josh Homme’s tedious drive through the Southern Californian desert, the inspiration for Era Vulgaris came from the frontman’s daily drive through Hollywood. He describes the record as “dark, hard, and electrical, sort of like a construction worker”,”…it’s like dirt, clearly seen.”

Here’s again another fine release from SAW which they bring us a new album from latin grammy winner Enrique Eglesias called “Insomniac. In this album he has a colaboration with the rapper Lil’ Wayne which i wonder how it would turn out? hmm… anyway the album is due to be out in a week time. This is his 8th album and still i havn’t bothered to listen to any of his music…maybe i should this time…nahh!! but yeah if you enjoy his pop latin music then this the one for you!

Enrique Iglesias is gearing up for the June 12 release of”Insomniac,” his first album in three years. Iglesias wrote all the songs on the bilingual album, which includes collaborations with Sean Garret, Max Martin, John Shanks among others.

The first single, “Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song)” in English and “Dimelo” in Spanish will be released to radio next week and will be followed by a video to be filmed in Los Angeles. As the name implies, the song starts out with the rhythm of a ping pong ball hitting a table.

The album also includes the song “Push” featuring rapper Lil’ Wayne’s first time collaborating on a pop track. Iglesias’ promotional blitz includes an appearance on “Two and a Half Men” on May 7, “Dancing with the Stars” on May15, the “Today Show” summer concert series on June 15, and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on a date to be announced.

The Grammy winner will also perform at the “Live Earth” concert on July 7. Iglesias has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. His last album, “7″ sold 394,000 copies in the U.S. according to Billboard/Nielsen SoundScan.

Offscreen. A little generic name for the movie may actually be a big surprise for many of you. It’s a strange combination of various, usually not too common genres: horror, romance, thriller, all in one. This movie isn’t the classic flick you are used to, it’s a completely off the movie mainstream. It’s another Danish production, which won at least 5 movie prizes at film festivals around the world. As it happens with this kind of movies, someone may found its miracle while many others think it’s an absolute crap. I will leave the final decision on you…

Well-known Danish actor Nicolas Bro reigns supreme in the role of Nicolas Bro. Bro’s marriage is on the rocks, his wife Lene has grown tired of their relationship, but instead of grabbing the bull by the horns, Bro decides to save his marriage by filming a love story with him and Lene playing the lead roles – as themselves. Bro’s good director friend Christoffer Boe lends him a camera and suggests that he films everything – a piece of advice that Bro takes far too literally. Bro’s constant filming succeeds in driving both his friends and wife nuts, and Lene ends up moving to a secret address in Berlin. Bro’s plans thus die a sudden death, but obsessed by the idea of completing his film, Bro hires Danish actress Trine Dyrholm to play his wife, Lene. Alas, nothing goes according to plan and Bro’s last hope of reclaiming his lost love is to seek out Lene in Berlin. It is a journey that gradually causes Bro to come apart at the seams in his increasingly desperate attempt to register his life on film.
