Cyberbullying becoming a new inet problem

Nearly one in three teenagers who use the Internet say they have been harassed online by “cyberbullies” who spread rumors, post embarrassing pictures, make private conversations public and even send threatening messages. “Bullying has entered the digital age,” the Pew Internet & American Life Project stated this week in a report based on a telephone poll of 935 kids, ages 12 to 17. Adolescent cruelty has moved from the whispers and shouts of the schoolyard to the online world, where teens often feel insulated from the consequences of their actions, kids reported in focus groups conducted in addition to the poll. One 15-year-old boy admitted threatening to kill a girl in an electronic message.”I played a prank on someone but it wasn’t serious,” the boy told researchers. “I told them I was going to come take them from their house and kill them and throw them in the woods.

It’s the best prank because it’s like ‘Oh my God, I’m calling the police,’ and I was like ‘I’m just kidding, I was just messing with you.’ She got so scared though.” Girls reported being bullied online more often than boys, with girls aged 15 to 17 being the most common targets. Fifteen percent of teenagers who use the Internet said their private e-mail, instant messages or text messages have been forwarded to others or posted to public sites without their permission. Thirteen percent said rumors have been spread about them online, and another 13 percent have received threatening or aggressive e-mails, IMs or text messages. Six percent said cyberbullies have posted embarrassing pictures of them online. I’m pretty sure most of you have also an experience with cyberbullying, especially if you are an user of some personal forum or site like Facebook. Although I do not consider it as a real threat yet, it may be really annoying for some people.

Discovery Channel Building The Future Part 1 The Energy Solution WS DSR XviD-SYS

Building the Future is a landmark series from the Discovery Channel about humankind’s phenomenal ingenuity in engineering and shaping the world around us. This particular episode focuses on the need for Energy to sustain society. But our traditional sources of energy is running out. New renewable solutions such as wind, tidal, fusion and others are described on this show. One remarkable fuel, detected in space and only recently discovered on earth, gas hydrate (frozen methane). Supposedly gas hydrates are in more abundance than oil and coal combined. They are found near gas vents deep within the ocean, in permafrost regions, and on some outer planets, moons and trans-Neptunian objects. Some scientists predict that there is sufficient quantity of gas hydrate to power the human race for 3000 years. There is a little issue right now with the torrent appearing online but it is available on usenet for those who have access.

With world energy consumption forecast to grow 57 percent by 2025, it is predicted that all of our major fossil fuels will be exhausted in less than 200 years. Building the Future: The Energy Solution reveals how, in a race against time, we are planning, building and searching for remarkable new energy solutions to safeguard our future.

Saving Planet Earth S01E05 WS PDTV XviD-iNGOT

Tonight Saving Planet Earth follows journalist Carol Thatcher who explains to us the endangered situation of the albatross. But the feathery friends are being pushed to extinction by long line fishing. It uses baited hooks which can attract diving albatross, as well as fish, and the birds are dragged under water and drowned. Over 20 per cent of the population on Steeple Jackson has been lost in the past 20 years. Across the world, an albatross is lost every five minutes due to long line fishing and it is thought that 100,000 birds drown each year. But with only seven Task Force officers to police the whole of the southern ocean, many boats are still to learn about these new methods. There is however, a small problem with the iNGOT release. It has not made its way onto torrents but is avail on usenet. Update: thanks to EZTV they have made avail the scene quality versions by iNGOT that were a little hard to find.

Celebrities investigate the issues, search out solutions and see how we can all be involved in saving planet earth’s wildlife. Journalist Carol Thatcher visits the Falkland Islands to meet the Black-browed Albatross. She discovers that these long distance flyers mate for life and travel hundreds of miles in search of a meal. However, an estimated 100,000 albatross are being caught and drowned on fishing hooks every year, and at this rate they’re headed for extinction.

Georgia Rule R5 LINE XViD-ViSUAL

Already posted about this film before, and now looks like it is available in nice R5 video quality with nice audio. Up and coming group ViSUAL appears to be stepping up to the plate recently, and has some nice new nfo artwork. EDIT: And now there is a proper from UNiVERSAL. They claim ViSUAL release totally out of sync after 92 mins. NFO / VIDEO SAMPLE
