256 Gb on A4 paper? Reality…

The technical advance will never stop to surprise me. New “rainbow technology”, devised by Sainul Abideen who has just completed an MCA degree in Kerala, data can be encoded into coloured geometric shapes and stored in dense patterns on paper. Files such as text, images, sounds and video clips are encoded in “rainbow format” as coloured circles, triangles, squares and so on, and printed as dense graphics on paper at a density of 2.7GB per square inch. The paper can then be read through a specially developed scanner and the contents decoded into their original digital format and viewed or played. The encoding and decoding processes have not been revealed. Using this technology an A4 sheet of paper could store 256GB of data. In comparison, a DVD can store 4.7GB of data.

The Rainbow technology is feasible because printed text, readable by the human eye is a very wasteful use of the potential capacity of paper to store data. By printing the data encoded in a denser way much higher capacities can be achieved. Paper is, of course, bio-degradable, unlike CDs or DVDs. And sheets of paper also cost a fraction of the cost of a CD or DVD. Abideen has demonstrated a 45-second video clip being encoded on paper, termed by him, a rainbow video disk – RVD – and then played back through a computer with an RVD scanner attached. In another demonstration he has shown 432 A4 pages of paper rainbow format-encoded and stored on a two-inch by two-inch square of paper. First micro flash drives, now special papers. What’s next?

Catz 6 & Dogz 6 – RELOADED

Catz and Dogz, probably the oldest pet simulation games. I believe I still have 2 and/or 3 somewhere in my old stash of retro games. Anyways, this game is basically a “The Sims” but then with pets. They’re two different games but if they did it like they did ten years ago with the older Catz and Dogz then it’s most likely that you’ll be able to import and export pets and get your cats and dogs together. If you happen to have any children or little brothers and/or sisters then this will likely glue them to the computer for a couple of months. So if you only have one computer in your home, don’t tell anyone about this game!

Catz 6:
Catz is a pet simulation game that lets owners name, train and play with adorable kittens. Players adopt a customized kitten from one of thirteen different breeds. Gamers will earn their kittens love and loyalty by remembering to feed, groom or play with it. Toys and accessories can be purchased for the kitten from the in-game store. Kittens can communicate with their owners through a variety realistic sounds effects including purring and different types of meows.

Dogz 6:

  • The DS exclusive features such as touch screen and voice recognition allow the player to feel more connected with the puppy.
  • Use the touch screen to praise and take care of the puppy!
  • Use your own voice to train! The puppy recognizes the voice command and responds.
  • The duel screen allows the player to see what the dog is doing even if she isnt in the same room. The dog will come when the player calls for it.
  • Save hand written picture diary of your life with your puppy!
  • Arrange and customize your room with various items!

No system requirements can be found. They’ll probably be in the README.TXT of the game so if anyone could be so kind as to post them in the comments, I thank you in advance.

Family Guy: Happy Freakin’ Christmas 2006 DVDRip XviD – GTV

Small post about the new Family Guy Christmas DVD. Anyone who knows what Family Guy is knows what to expect. For all you people who haven’t seen any TV ever since they were born, Family Guy is often called the Simpsons rip-off. The opposite is true! It does have a family of five doing all sorts of stupid things but it also takes a lot of modern problems into the show and they always find a way to make it all look very funny. Stewie, the baby, is the best character of the show because this baby talks like a genius and is always trying to kill someone or screw things up for the rest of the family. You WILL laugh at least twice every episode.

Deck The Halls CAM XviD – RUSTLERS

It has begun. The huge wave of Christmas family movies. I’m not saying I don’t like ‘em, it’s just that they’re always kinda the same and they’re so predictable. Well, this one has Danny DeVito in it so that’s something. Basically the amazing plot is this: A guy is the local “champion” or what ever when it comes to Christmas decoration. Now a new guy has moved into the neighborhood and he too is all about Christmas decoration so now this little battle is taking place between them about who has the best decorated house in the region. Obviously a lot of things will go wrong and eventually they’ll probably settle with either one of them being the winner or, they both lose or something. There’s always a good ending to a Christmas movie!

This holiday comedy is centered around two neighbors in a small New England town who go to war when one of them decides to decorate his house with a so many Christmas lights that they are visible from space. The neighborhood is turned upside down as the families try to discover the true meaning of Christmas.

Earwarming headphones for tough Winter

The approaching Winter is an ideal time to sell some season goods, and retailers know it best. These $30 Lobz™ Audio Ear Warmers (eshop) should protect you against cold and as a bonus, play some music. I wouldn’t expect too much from such a headphones (yeah, Koss is slightly different category), but the idea of listening to music while you are riding some Super G seems to be quite cool. There are no extras like Bluetooth or anything else, just pure cable leading to your mp3 player . The look also isn’t somehow stylish, but who cares when there’s -20°C outside…

First cam of Deja Vu

Probably a very decent thriller Deja Vu is now available in the first cam release. Really new movie with Denzel Washington entered american cinemas just few days ago, and already reached a nice IMDB rating and positive feedback in first reviews. Quality of this cam is slightly above the average, but still not too good to waste experience from such a good movie…

Denzel Washington plays Doug Carlin, an ATF agent who is called in to recover evidence in the investigation of a New Orleans ferry bombing and experiences a revelation that could allow him to save hundreds of innocent people. Filming in New Orleans, Louisiana was delayed following Hurricane Katrina because of the devastation caused by the storm and the collapse of the Federal levees (see: Effect of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans). Many of the exteriors were set to be shot in New Orleans, including a key sequence involving the Canal Street/Algiers ferry across the Mississippi River. After the city was reopened, the cast and crew returned to New Orleans to continue filming; some scenes of the post-Katrina devastation were worked into the plot.
