200 000

WE DID IT! 200 THOUSAND UNIQUE VISITORS IN A SINGLE DAY!

Friday, February 29, 2008. For the very first time in the history of Releaselog, our stats surpassed the magical 200 000 border and we just entered another era of this site. Shortly after celebrating our 2nd birthday, the amount of visitors more than doubled since September 2007. Such a number of unique readers ranks us into top 1500 websites of the whole internet - and I dare to say we are one of the biggest blogs of the world.

We are already more popular than BoingBoing, Mashable and giants as Gizmodo or TechCrunch are not far ahead of us. Our readership increases significantly with every month and I think it’s not impossible to break unbelievable 300 thousand barrier by end of this year. Thanks go to all editors for their amazing work and also to all polite readers. RLSLOG FOREVER!

    in some countries a comma is not needed to represent a thousand, a million, or a billion. instead a space is used. get that right first before you go questioning other people.

    eg: 200 000 or 200,000
    100 000 000 000 000 or 100,000,000,000,000

    both are correct.

    I’d be the first to say ‘great site’.. but for you to celebrating your own ‘awsomeness’, is a bit lame… especially as the ’success’ isn’t down to anything you guys are doing, if the site was just full of links and no editorial you’d still be getting these numbers the more noticed you become.

    Congrats on the 200k although I expect this will cause more problems for you rather than anything useful.

    Like Wibble posted, the happiness about the achievement is somewhat dampened by the fact that most blog entries are mostly “cut & paste” with very little original content. Maybe after reaching this milestone, you’ll look for better writing talent and come up with some unique and well written content of your own.

    It would also be nice if you distanced yourselves more from the actual illegal content behind your blog entries (such as removing torrent site links, NFOs and filenames) and if you blogged more about the scene itself. I hope you don’t want to be a central hub for illegal downloads but rather an informative site about scene releases and scene news.
