2 Days In Paris LiMiTED PROPER DVDRip XviD-DoNE

DoNE bring us a Limited release but a fairly popular release nonetheless. Proper because previous release from SUPERiER had no english subs for non-english parts. A heart warming movie I believe this is worth a try.

“2 Days in Paris” follows two days in the relationship of a New York based couple; a French photographer Marion (Delpy) and American interior designer Jack (Goldberg), as they attempt to re-infuse their relationship with romance by taking a vacation in Europe. Their trip to Venice didn’t really work out–they both came down with gastroenteritis. They have higher hopes for Paris. But the combination of Marion’s overbearing non-English speaking parents’, flirtatious ex-boyfriends’, and Jack’s obsession with photographing every famous Parisian tombstone and conviction that French condoms are too small, only adds fuel to the fire. Will they be able to salvage their relationship? Will they ever have sex again? Or will they merely manage to perfect the art of arguing?

Does this version really have subs? Are they hardcoded, or what? There’s no sub pack and couple of torrent sites (no comments, please) had apologies for no subs. Again.

Tito, you use NZB’s to download from Newsgroup servers, you usually have to pay to use them, Like Usenext, although you get so many GB free through some ISP’s.

when i download from newsgroup servers it usually from say 1900 kb’s to 700kb’s..

but you use your allowed amount up very fast. At least I do. hahaha

    Merry Christmas Everyone.

You use nzb to download the files making up the film from the usenet using a usenet client.
of course, this presumes you have a newsserver configured.

if anybody has english subs, perhaps you can post a link.

  27. binary usenet 101
    December 25th, 2007 | 05:39

    Dearest Tito!

You asked about nzb files - nzb files are to (the binary branch of) the USENET system what torrent files are to BITTORRENT system.

USENET dates way back into the early days of internet. Usenet is not as old as the EMAIL system part of the internet, but almost as old. Like in the email system, usenet did originally consist of ASCII (text) messages ONLY.

As email nowadays is not always ascii text-only messages anymore (you’ve probably seen one or the other HTML-format email message, and also you have binary (files) attachments today), a similar change took place on usenet: While there are still many ascii-(text)-only message newsgroups around today (literally tens of thousands), during the recent years there have come more and more binaries-only newsgroups into existence.

A newsgroup is synonym for a posting group on usenet. Imagine a newsgroup as somewhat similar to a FORUM on a website - in that you can exchange messages, and EVERYBODY who has access to that newsgroup can read any and every message that has been sent to this newsgroup. Like on webforums, newsgroups are organized in a topical manner: e.g. ’sci.physics.general’ is a newsgroup that focuses on scientific physics in general.

Everybody with access to a newsserver that carries this specific group can access (read and post to) this group. There are hundreds or thousands of newsservers worldwide. They synchronize the messages between them. If you post a message to one of these newsservers (the protocol is NNTP), then within minutes or hours pretty much every other newsserver that is carrying that group will have a copy of your message, making it available to its subscribers. This spreading mechanism is called synchronization.

Many internet service providers have their own newsserver (nntp-server). But these newsservers to often carry ONLY TEXT (ascii) newsgroups. In case you want to download binary files (images, movies, etc.), then you need a nntp-server that carries BINARY groups, too. Binary newsgroups carry the word …binaries… in their name. Normally.

Binary groups require a million or a billion times more storage space - because the postings are so very much bigger than a tiny text message. Originally usenet was only for text messages of normally 2 or 5 Kbyte, not for movies of hundreds of Megabytes. Therefore one single movie gets broken up into hundreds or even tens of thousands of individual messages, called SEGMENTS.

Due to these higher storage demands, you normally have to subscribe to a specialized binary news hosting company (news server). This costs you between maybe 10 to 40 us dollars per month (this is only an approximate guess). An important parameter of quality is RETENTION TIME (how long will an individual message be available on the NNTP-host = newsserver - a day, week, a month) and COMPLETION (how many individual messages (parts of a movie file) will be AVAILABLE/MISSING). The higher the completion (you want close to 100 %) and the longer the retention time, the more expensive (and the more reliable) is the NNTP-subscription.

NZB files were invented to make it easier to locate (find), keep track of, and download these thousands of individual messages that a single movie consists of. You use specialized application programs - so called newsreaders. Or more specifically binary newsgroup downloaders, e.g. Newsbin, Forte Agent, Newsgrabber, or what ever (I used the text-only newsgroups a long time ago, I do not have much experience with binary newsgroups).

The NZB file is basically a xml dialect file that contains a list of these thousands of individual messages that are all parts of ONE single binary (e.g. movie) file. You don’t need a NZB to download a movie, but a NZB makes it hell of a lot easier to dl a big binary file.

I hope this gives you a little bit of a headstart into usenet.

    sincerely, a thankful admirerer.

@Tito #8 - Thanks for the yastorage link - downloaded slowly (Ave = 60+ KB/s, probably still better than Bittorrent for me on Cox ISP), but only needed one attempt to complete.

Thanks also for your rapidshare links to the subs

  48. Rom
    December 25th, 2007 | 11:03

Err..weird that this proper was meant to ‘fix’ the lack of English subs in the previous release but you still need to get a separate subpack (2.Days.In.Paris.SUBFIX-DoNE) ???

okay guys i downloaded the subtitle @8 and its not English its actually a multiple languages file (EN/FR/NL) like stated in the nfo ,, all u have to do is to choose the language u want to display
another thing ,, the subtitle is for the french parts only not the whole movie and is 100% in sync

caps showing the sub and how to choose lang

thanks @53 silkymilk for the english only rip of the subtitles.

thanks @54 moh for the detailed info and images re how to select the subtitle language for multiple subs. i use vlc player. on the top menu bar the path is: video -> subtitles (then select language from the menu that opens). french are the default subtitles, which is why that is what i was getting when i hadn’t made the selection.

thanks again to everyone on the site for all helpful assistance. happy holidays.

Ok, I get the subs when I play in VLC, I try outputting to a DVD no subs. I don’t know if it’s just me lately, but I have been having sub problmes with other films as well even though in the past I’ve downloaded subs, no problem, output the video with the subs onto a DVD. I’m using WINAVi as always, don’t know what the problem is.

Surely the WHOLE point of this proper is either to INCLUDE the subs, or have them hard-coded …!!??
