1983 The Brink Of Apocalypse WS PDTV XviD-REMAX

A British group REMAX releases mostly documentaries noone really cares about, but this is a small gem: 1983 The Brink Of Apocalypse summarizes events on 8 November 1983 which almost lead to the beginning of WW3. Highly recommended for all war fans but also for those of you who don’t really enjoy such shows.

On this near-fateful day, a series of accidents nearly unleashed the Third World War. Senior figures in the Soviet Union had convinced themselves that they were about to come under nuclear attack from the West, and the vast Soviet nuclear arsenal of missiles, bombers and submarines were put on maximum alert, ready to launch a full nuclear retaliatory attack on Western Europe and the US. Armageddon beckoned. This documentary tells the dramatic story behind this sequence of events when Soviet fingers hovered perilously over the nuclear button. The intelligence communities in the US, Europe and the former USSR have never before admitted to the scale of this crisis.

So umm, if the documentary interests the poster, it is “a small gem”, but if it doesn’t it’s something no-one cares about?

Kudos to REMAX for their efforts. It’s great that some group puts out documentaries. There are people who watch those.

    chrome307: I certainly agree.

Remax is one of the most active UK material groups around. That most of their stuff is not always available on torrentsites is another matter.

The russian officer that saved the world had to borrow money to pay for his wife funeral because his career ended when he could not push the button.
Today, Petrov, 67, lives in Moscow on a monthly pension of less than $200.

So this guy SAVES US ALL and has to borrow money to pay for his wife’s funeral :(
What kind of world allows this to happen?

    @30

You cant get it anywhere YET. This website is a log for scene releases. Considering they dont even want their stuff on P2P (or so they say), this is just a heads up ready for when some nice kind person puts it on a public tracker.

So hold tight. Or copy and paste the title into a few torrent engines to see if any sites have it yet. Easy.

I think that #37 Mantra’s version is incomplete. it plays only 22min:40sec, it’s only ~500MB size. instead, Martin posted this: 1 CD, 700 MB, 640×352, mp3.
Can someone, who downloaded the full release, send us the links? also, who can confirm that RS links posted here, are for 700MB movie?
    Thanks in advance.

This was broadcast on Channel 4 on Saturday evening, it was quite interesting, a lot of reconstruction and stock footage but the worst thing about it is the narrator keeps saying NUCULAR. This is a documentary about the deployment of nuclear weapons and the narrator can’t say it right. Unbelievable!

Most interesting is it reveals the delicate thread by which civilisation hung at this time.

I note that rapidshare want paying before they will let you download any more than 1 file. Otherwise you have to wait 100 mins to download the second. Did you guys pay rapidshare in order to get all Netranger’s files, or did you wait?

Anyone else got another (non-paying) way of getting this file, as a torrent etc?

    You morons!

The password “downbee.com” is wrong, and the file cannot be extracted.

    Why even bother?

First we have to use that stinking Rapidshare, which costs money OR imposes enormous periods of time, THEN the password is wrong?

Of all the people who downloaded this, why can’t one of you make a decent, working torrent? Too much of a hassle for ya?

And why does RLSLOG have to post data about these films, if it can’t provide a decent download link or source?

‘A British group REMAX releases mostly documentaries noone really cares about..’
    martin?
Who the hell are you to say that about REMAX brilliant releases??
I would suggest to you that only unintelligent morons who think that the crap thrown together and piped out on discovery and history channel is a documentary, you know, those ‘documentaries’ that are tailored for the people with a ten second attention span and shown on usa TV??!
The folk who watch REMAX releases are a bit more discerning.
The fact that they are a UK group speaks volumes. Also you need to do a little research my friend. they have some of the most varied and interesting releases and not ONLY docus’ either.
Another thing, you should watch what you say when you write for a sight that seems to recommend shows like ‘Santas gone Bad (or whatever the hell it was called)’…
    Idiot.

    No, jack, it’s you!

Because the password only works with some of the files - it breaks the extraction at part 2. And I tried two different archiving programs: IZarc and WinRar.

If you’re the smart one who uploaded this, why bother with a password?
