17 year-old shot in the face by two hooded men

I don’t like to be the bearer of bad news, but I found this story sad and shocking enough to post it on rlslog. I don’t want to speculate on an on-going investigation but this could be a racially motivated attack. What I really wanted to do was just start some audience discussion, because regular amount of on-topic comments on posts here are rare, so basically this proves posting shocking news provokes more ppl to comment, but why don’t the ppl who commented on this also take the time to comment on other articles regularly ?

A youth is critically ill in hospital after he was shot on Christmas Eve. Police officers were called to the shooting in Garton Way, Wandsworth, in south London, shortly after 6pm on Monday. The victim, believed to be 17, was taken to a south London hospital with a gunshot wound to his face. He remains in a critical but stable condition. It is thought he was shot while he was sitting in a stationary car. Two suspects, both described as black males wearing hooded tops, were seen running from the scene.

Armed officers immediately searched the area and the scene is being forensically examined, a police spokesman said. No one has been arrested.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Trident Unit appealed to anyone with information to call 0208 733 4774 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111

    I feel sorry for the kid’s family.
    @all the almost 200 postings so far!!!
    Funny that out of the 200 postings so far only a few, and I can count them on one hand, have made a comment that really matters. I hope the get the killers and I feel sorry for the kid’s family (In so many words).
    Are you all such VVankers that you can’t even post that. Is your view of the world so limited to only your arse crapping out any human feelings you might once had?
    Compassion seems to be very hard to find it seems. But hey…Have your Christmas dinner with your family and friends and let’s all sing jolly songs about peace in the world.

    If you’re shot, you generally fall down. If you’re shot AT, the last thing that goes thu your mind as you p1ss your pants and find cover is to spend a minute getting your gun out.

    How many times have bystanders opened fire at a drive-by vehicle, or customers held up a bank robber? Wake up from your fantasy boy, even in the wild west that never happened.

    Why? For the same reason that 30 people on a train don’t stand up against 3 dudes kicking the sh1t outta 1 dude. People are generally too busy worrying about their own 4ss to act. If you’re any different, I apologise as you are obviously very special.

I think what the sane people on this thread are trying to say is, rlslog should stick to what it does best, news on scene releases, it doesn’t make them heartless. The only thing this “article” has achieved is to create a bunch of hatred. This other news story happened recently too http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yorkshire/7149134.stm pretty much the same thing(the suspects are all white), where was that on rlslog? The bottom line is racial violence happens everyday, as soon as a black guy does something and, surprise, surprise,its on rlslog

    The real problem is Mr X being selective with the news, I personally find the Iraq story today even more tragic, it was essentially 30 good guys being murdered for trying to make Iraq better.

    OMG, I just read all 216 posts this afternoon fully expecting to see post upon post full of hate and racial slurs. After reading so many comments here in the past about Blacks men, almost none of them positive, I had refused to read anymore when anything dealing with Blacks were posted.     It is commendable that somebody tries to educate us or at least make us aware of such facts. However I don’ think this is suited for a site like this. And second how could Mr. X know that it possibly is a racial attack. Not having any insight about the case I am not going to discuss this.
    Speculation on serious matters like this aren’t helpfull.

    I’ve always read this site with pleasure, but this article.. it doesn’t belong here. While it’s a sad event, a shooting like that is hardly newsworthy, especially for a scene site. You want to start a discussion? Start one on stuff that matters, Darfur, Iraq etc. What on earth can be discussed on someone getting shot in London?

    Besides all that, it’s christmas. I face plenty of world crap throughout the rest of the year. During christmas I rather pretend the world doesn’t suck as much as it does.

    While the fact that the alleged killers are black may be relevant to solving the crime (guess the police won’t be interviewing many Japanese tourists or causasians) it proves nothing about a ‘racial crime’. We had a murder in my home town (in UK) yrs ago – an Indian guy. As there were race riots in London, Liverpool, B’hm and Bradford we were concerned about the outcome; turns out that he was stabbed by a Pakistani, same colour but different religion – not a race crime, a religion crime.
    Until we know why it happened we should leave out the labels. Could be race, wrong footy team, money (bad debt), robbery, victim was going out with killer’s sister, etc etc – that is police business.
    In the meantime RLSLOG is not the place for these discussions; I know ‘off topic’ is legit but how about restricting it to the Scene? – rather than world news.

    I’m amazed so many people, including the poster immediately assumed the victim was white… the race of the victim is not mentioned in the news item at all.

    It’s assumptions like these, colouring our views of reality, that are the small seeds that eventually lead to racism and discrimination.

    As so many have said before, the racist bit wasn’t in noting the two seen leaving the scene were unwhite but considering Mr X prolly wasn’t asking for witnesses one has to wonder what the relevance was. However the assumption that because the two suspects weren’t white, the shooting was racially motivated was most def a racially loaded remark.

    My impression of england when I’ve visted, is that on the whole unwhite peeps are poorer than white peeps, so it is more likely the crime was economically motivated than racially motivated ie the whitey had tried to pull a rip over a powder deal or some such.

    As for the rest of it, I live in the southern half of this planet and I must say that if one wants to keep a score on either the number of unwhite people living in whitey countries or the number of whiteys living in unwhite countries the latter group is bigger.

    Same, same for killings, however many peeps get shot in england by unwhites, you can be sure far more unwhite peeps have been shot, hung, blown up, ‘run through with cold steel’ by white peps originating from england. Why; there’s a certain country in the world right now where USuk have wasted a million plus unwhites, wounded another couple of mill and made refugees out of 4 million citizens who up until USuk decided they wanted their oil had been quietly minding their own business not hurting anyone.

    These whines from the North about the tiny amount of splashback they are getting after two hundred years of looting and murdering the planet, makes me laugh.

    IF england, scotland, ireland, and wales took back all the peeps and their descendants that they have littered the rest of the world with, they would truly understand for the first time, the meaning of overwhelmed.

    Take Australia for example, not where I live, but it will do as an eg. When whitey arrived there were about 1 million aboriginal people there. That number fell to under a hundred thousand within 50 years. Not by accident but by planned genocide. Now 2o million peeps live there, about 200,000 of them are ‘aboriginal’, about half of which are 100% aboriginal. around 60% or 12 million australian citizens are from or, descended from, england ireland scotland and wales. That’s just one country and there are a lot more – you’d have to think at least 100 million amerikans are descended from the UK so take them too. Take em all, I’m sure then the unwhites would be only too happy to go ‘home’ if home didn’t have whitey kneeling on it’s throat.

    Oh and Mr X, I know there are a lot more swedes living in my country than locals from here living in Sweden and that is probably true of most places unwhites originate from.

    It is pretty clear from these posts that a lot of people do not like blacks. I’m glad so many are comfortable talking about it. Too many white people no it inside but are afraid to speak their mind.

    Well I am sorry to hear that this is shocking news to some but I must add that In Florida especially around the east cost from miami to Fortlauderdale gangs where a big thing. I think its a gang thing that london is dealing with. The kid was in the wrong place and the wrong time or said the wrong thing to the wrong people. I really hope that kid will get better maybe enopugh so he can talk and tell who did it to him sop that some other kid wont be the next victim.

    Gun crime especially stuff like this is still infrequent here in the UK so ANY such thing will make the news and details spread about.
    Hopefully these guy will be tracked down due to making a mistake, blabbin about it.

    It could of been about drugs or just some guys excited about having a new toy and wanting to use it on someone, this is a sick world we live in now.

    As for hate crimes just watch the South Park episode “Cartmans silly hate crime”

    If somebody kills somebody, it’s a crime. But if someone kills somebody of a different color, it’s a hate crime.

    Racism isnt just about white people versus black people and it isnt reverse rasicm with black people against white person its just called racism thats the term to use.

    All this terrible thing is going to achieve is the banning of HOODIES – thats the way in will be spun and that how out government with deal with it.

    And im going to assume something now..
