17 year-old shot in the face by two hooded men

I don’t like to be the bearer of bad news, but I found this story sad and shocking enough to post it on rlslog. I don’t want to speculate on an on-going investigation but this could be a racially motivated attack. What I really wanted to do was just start some audience discussion, because regular amount of on-topic comments on posts here are rare, so basically this proves posting shocking news provokes more ppl to comment, but why don’t the ppl who commented on this also take the time to comment on other articles regularly ?

A youth is critically ill in hospital after he was shot on Christmas Eve. Police officers were called to the shooting in Garton Way, Wandsworth, in south London, shortly after 6pm on Monday. The victim, believed to be 17, was taken to a south London hospital with a gunshot wound to his face. He remains in a critical but stable condition. It is thought he was shot while he was sitting in a stationary car. Two suspects, both described as black males wearing hooded tops, were seen running from the scene.

Armed officers immediately searched the area and the scene is being forensically examined, a police spokesman said. No one has been arrested.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Trident Unit appealed to anyone with information to call 0208 733 4774 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111

    ‘freedom of speech?’ who gives a crap it, doesn’t mean you can act like idiots and post childish comments, besides it will give you a great Christmas present you won’t ever forget.

    Why is this on rlslog, how is this SCENE release related? Maybe because it happened in the drug-SCENE? Or maybe because there was a crime SCENE? Or maybe the police was called to stop a couple of kids that where making a SCENE? Or is it obSCENE?

    Seems like Mr. X makes this more and more his site. That would be OK if it was SOMEHOW relevant to the release of new scene items, like computer hardware stuff. But this ‘news’ simply isn’t.

    To make it clear to some with need of sensitivity.
    Just try to replace black with any particular marginal society (at repeated times in history, black, jewish, artists, homosexuals, indians, any of those who are just different). You get the same result. The same conservative feeling of fear and xenophobia. I thought most schools across the world teach that to children.
    This editor is on purpose dumping racist polemic in this site and plays innocent. It was mentionned by readers since he has been hired that he was a poor editor choice and nothing has been done.

    Lads: this news story is NOT appropriate for rlslog, no matter how shocked you are by it.

    While I’m at it, people come to rlslog for info on NEW SCENE RELEASES, so don’t post anything else! People lookin for NEW SCENE RELEASES don’t want tech news (which looks swiped off Engadget for that matter) unless it has something to do with SCENE RELEASES (eg somebody got arrested or a site got taken down). You’re kind of losing the point of why ye set ths website up in the first place. So, are we clear?? SCENE RELEASES!!!

    Or is there an alternative website that I’m not yet aware of that would cater to my specific demands??

I am not a fan of all of them, but could always find some I liked.     And Secondly Stop complaining about everything like saying, “”OH THIS ISN’T A NEWS SITE”". I mean you come to this site to get movie releases, they’re providing a service to you and letting you come here and see new movie releases. I come to this site everyday and I love it and its very helpful, The can post whatever they want because its their site and they’re providing us with releases.

    There are tons of other sites like this and if you don’t like that they post a news story every one in a while than feel free to go to one of those other sites, because for every 1 news post there are like 5 movies/games/application posts. So thanks Rlslog crew for all the releases and for posting this news story.

    Oh and Merry Christmas to everyone, except for the people that whine.

    Commentary like “could be racially motivated” without proof (does not appear in news article) is incredibly insensitive and irresponsible in the EXTREME for widely viewed material.

    Look hard at yourself RLSLog, you’re going in the wrong direction.

    If this was meant to provoke, it is the wrong approach. Better to post this:

    I just hope this wasn’t posted merely to drive up traffic.

    That would be enough to make me boycott this site. There are a hundred others like it, all with more releases than this one.

    Yet, it is the comments that bring me here, not the releases so much.. I’m seeing lots of thoughtful comments in this one, just hope RLSLog take notice and aren’t being congratulated by their sponsors.

    Lets face it, people get killed all the time, it never gets posted here. Why? Because this is a site for scene news. If I want to read the news I go to the BBC or CNN. Mr X clearly has got nothing useful to post so he has handpicked a story, twisted it to suit his agenda and posted it here to kick up a fuss.
    If he cares so much why not mention the bomb in Iraq today killing a bunch of Iraqis, who are actually helping America and Britain fight Al Qaeda!
