I have a fresh Asian movie release from CoWRY for you this afternoon. “13B” is a 2009 Kollywood and Bollywood horror film directed by Vikram K. Kumar, and starring Madhavan and Neetu Chandra in the lead roles. 7.8 rating on IMDB look really good in spite of 288 votes. 2CD release with AC3 audio and English subtitle, I believe you can have a good afternoon before the TV shows rush out tonight. Hope you don’t live in 13th floor and Room B.  :D

PLOT: In today’s world, the major source of relief, information and entertainment is the TV. So much so, that it has moved up from its modest position of being just another ‘household appliance’ to actually determining the power equation in a family. It is easy to identify the hierarchy in the family depending on who controls the remote control. So what happens when the TV realizes this power and begins to take control? What happens when instead of showing you the facts, the TV, begins to show you what it wants you to see? What happens when Manohar, to his great horror, realizes that this is exactly what is happening with his wonderful family, who has just moved into their sweet new home at 13B.

    Well I'll be honest here as usual and yes I also think this movie is somewhat OK and definitely not a bad one.

    My score: 7/10

    This actor Madavan has given a good performance. Direction is OK, DP was better and editing sucked a bit. And yeah there is a clear clue that it was "inspired" by The Signal which was a great low budget indi movie IMO. Just saw it again 1 week ago. :P

    What some ppl have said about Kollywood here could be the reason why this has come out better than average ball-e-wood drivel. Most non ball-e-wood Indian movies I have seen so far were really good, some of them exceptionally good. Too bad the dumb Indians don't promote them as much as they do for ball-e-wood crap.

    You know, after downloading this and subtitles not syncing, I downloaded the
    13B 2009 1CD DVDRip E-Subs XviD ~Team IcTv~ ( It is 1 cd) and the subs didn't sync neither. I think It's the Cowry version stitched. What I did in Subtitled Workshop to delay the subs for more or less 10 seconds and everything synched perfectly.
