I’ve never heard about this movie but Morgan Freeman is the first name in this. Haven’t checked the trailer but I would give it a try only because of Morgan Freeman . He has done some good work the last few years in “Lucky Number Slevin” or “An Unfinished Life”. The girl on the photo looks familiar but I’m not sure if she is known or not. Representing a bold departure for both Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman and director Brad Silberling, “10 Items or Less” is an intimately-scaled, two-character comedy in which Freeman plays a major movie star whose pickiness with his projects accounts for a lengthy absence from the screen. While considering a role as a supermarket manager, he decides to do some field research at a small ethnic market on the very outskirts of Los Angeles. Finding himself stranded with no cell phone or transportation, he meets Paz Vega, the feisty cashier who mans the store’s express register. When she offers to drive him back to “civilization,” this initially mismatched pair discovers common ground, with the star realizing that his love for people is what drew him to acting in the first place, and the cashier gaining the confidence to interview – or as he terms it, to “audition” – for a job that could change her life.

This is actually a pretty funny movie. More of an adult comedy, no slapstick or dick and fart jokes, leave the kids at home.
I did enjoy it, it’s a little slow in parts but a good movie at the heart.
Morgan Freeman plays himself and it’s really funny, check it out if you need a date movie or something.

The name of the Chick is “Paz Vega”, an spaniard actress. I used to go to her house Club in Madrid called “Goldfield”.
Good movie after the first 30 minutes. Don’t let the beginning dialogue wear on you.
I saw Freeman promoting this on Leno. He has a presence few people have.

Not at all jungle fever. Without ruining the movie for everyone……
Freeman plays himself, who hasn’t acted in awhile and is going to do a small indy film as a comeback. It has something to do with a grocery store or something, and he’s trying to get the role down by standing around in a corner store to get a feel for it.
He meets the hot chick and helps her with her life, no love no sex.
So yeah, obviously no tit shots.

There were a couple of times where I felt the scenes were sort of forced or at the very least put in as fodder. Specifically the car wash scene and the singing scene towards the end.
But for the most part I enjoyed this flick, Freeman is a very likable person and he comes off a really decent fellow.
If you liked Lost In Translation, you’ll probably like this flick.
I thought Jonah Hill’s brief cameo at the beginning was pretty funny. For some reason he really reminds me of the late Chris Penn in this movie.
Paz Vega has been naked in LOTS of movies. Google her, she’s got a great body.
This is a very good movie. Funny in a classy/non base way for once. The opening few minutes with that chubby white guy are anoying though… but maybe thats intended heh.

I usually don’t like movies with no end, middle, or beginning (which this one sort of is), and I usually don’t like Morgan Freeman’s movies, but this one was surprisingly pleasant. Well proportioned, unpretentious movie for a relaxing late afternoon. Soundtrack deserves mention for being pretty fitting with the rest of the movie. Only criticism is that, even as a non-native English speaker, I found Paz Vegas accent to be a little disturbing to the flow of the movie at times, but nothing major.
Worth seeing.
