Group BaLD released a pretty decent R5 rip of a very popular adventurous movie 10 000 BC literally few minutes ago. This is major improvement in the terms of quality, as the latest available version was still just a crappy cam. The movie itself isn’t such a bomb as expected, but it’s still a nice flick to watch. Check the samples and get ready to start your download!

From director Roland Emmerich (”Independence Day,” “The Day After Tomorrow”) comes a sweeping odyssey into a mythical age of prophesies and gods, when spirits rule the land and mighty mammoths shake the earth. In a remote mountain tribe, the young hunter D’Leh (Steven Strait) has found his heart’s passion – the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle).     lol Just saw this pre XVID ] – [ 10.000.BC.R5.LiNE.XVID-BaLD
    and came here for info and for once, it was already up! Nice work rlslog, very quick ;-p
    As for the movie, saw it at the theatre and it has some nice visuals, story is a bit meh, and overall I give it 7/10
    For comparison purpose, it’s kinda like Pathfinder, on an older and more epic scale.

    Not to take anything away from this and yes it’s a great improvement. But it looks a bit overcropped. Almost as if to hide hardcoded subs etc..
    You can tell immediately at the beginning @ the WB logo.

    Quality of the rip is crap, video is pixelated and the sound is distorted during loud scenes. I am downloading the DVDr from TL right now so I’ll let you know if it’s any better or just a re-encode.

    I converted this to DVD w/ convertxtodvd, on medium settings, and it IS a little of sync (convertxtodvd supposedly has a sync-fixer) but even on medium quality conversion, the sound and video are crisp. I would expect a proper though, even though this is OK for the movie that it is.. ;)

    Quite a watchable R5. Sound left a bit to be desired, and it was imperceptably out of sync (must have been the muxing process), but overall great. a/v 5/8

    Good movie, too, quite hokey at some points, and the journey they took made no sense (from mammoth territory to tropical jungle back to desert). Great for a bit of mindless fun. 8/10

    Glad I waited for the R5 (not that any of the cams that came out were remotely watchable).

    Thanks for the english subs, but none of them are sync with this R5 version. I guess they come from the CAM version and were perfectly sync…
    But the R5 DVDs have a different FPS (25FPS instead of 23,976 for the US), and give consequently a progressive “out of sync” subtitle through the film.
    Changing it doesn’t work on “amateur subs” (I never really understood why?)… But anyway, for a good synchronization of the subtitle, it needs to done again line by line unfortunatelly. :(

    I will probably watch the film without them, and wait for the Zone 1 DVD the 24th of June…

    Great movie, very enjoyable, loved the part with the terror birds.

    Who cares if its historical incorrect, its not a freakin documentary. Oh, wait dwarfs and elves never existed in the real world, damn, LOTR sucks. hell no, its one of the best movies around. 10, 000BC damn good movie, fun to watch, well filmed, cool CGI.

    enjoy the movie for what is on the screen, if something minor like “they didnt speak english in 10, 000BC” bothers you, go fly a kite. lol.

    By the way, there is the same identical moment in this film that was there already in ID4: when the president steps forward and riunites all the pilot in that great speech that closes with the famous sentence “so that today will not be remembered as an American holdiday, but as a day to celebrate for all mankind. This will be our Independence Day” with a great music on the scene. Perfect scene, copied in almost every detail from Soviet propaganda films with Lenin inciting the crowds to the Occtober Revolution, but still perfect. Emmerich tries to do it again here, but unfortunately he fails. Or, to be be “good”, the corresponding scene in this movie here has less than 25% of the original power. See it for yourself.

    The DEViCE release is the best one at the moment for this R5 release of the film. H264 + AC3 on a 1,4go file. Nice rip. ;)

    PD: The video quality of the Bald release is awesome!! but the audio is distorted with high volumen

    PD2: The story is great. I remember the Anunaki story with that plot. You know, the ancient civilization that dwelled on the earth thousands years ago. They were the so called ‘Giants’ or Nephelim and they were the real builder of the pyramids. In the film there is some reminescent of the Orion constellation (The Mark of the Hunter) :D .
    Maybe the film tries to tell us something ….

    I resync completly the english subs line by line with VSS on this R5 release for people who are interested. :)
    I based my sync on “alexis” version of the subs, already available here and on opensubtitles. In fact, these subs were ok, but needed a much better sync I thought…

    Eric the only thing this movie has in common with Apocalypto is that it is about ancient tribes. This movie was pretty good in my opinion 8/10 and Apocalypt on the other hand was a steaming pile of sh*t. Why do people keep asking for subs there were subs hardcoded into this release and as far as I could tell it was perfectly in sync.
